    I’ve never thought about #9...what a great idea! I’m going to try it!

      It's been awesome! I get a strange sense of satisfaction from saying no to these things...and then the empowerment builds as they accumulate because I can easily see how much time I would have "lost" if I'd said yes. Try it for sure!

      @@HowToGYST right?!?! What did people ever do before that? And I’ve found that setting deadlines for things that don’t have one ensures I get to the important things I otherwise might not. Have a great day!

      @@SolutionsforSimplicity Oh yeah, I definitely work best to a deadline, even if it's self-imposed. 😉

    Also, what do you think are the pros of using a paper to do list instead of an app?

    • @SolutionsforSimplicity
      @SolutionsforSimplicity  4 роки тому +1

      Such a good question. My ultimate punchline would be that it's totally personal preference. The digital apps are hand because you theoretically have them with you all the time, and for perfectionists like me it can be nice to erase & retype things you "mess up" on. But ultimately, I haven't found an app that allows me to organize everything the way I've found is most productive for me. There's also all this research showing that writing something by hand better cements it into your brain, plus the dopamine hit of physically highlighting or crossing off something I've done is waaaaaay bigger than just indicating that it's done on an app. So that's why I'm personally a big fan of paper to-do lists. Old fashioned, I guess. ;) Which do you prefer?

    Your tips are great but the music you chose for this video was so loud and distracting it was hard to watch this or focus on what you were saying. The music is completely unnecessary.

      Thanks, Bonnie! I wholeheartedly agree. I regret trying to incorporate music in my older videos and stopped doing that a couple years ago. :) Glad the tips were still helpful.

    I don't like a miscellaneous category. Stuff gets lost in there.

      That can happen for sure! The more specific you can get when making your categories, the better but sometimes if you don't have too many things in a category it's better lumped in with other ones. That's where a "miscellaneous" category has been helpful for me, and I always try to set deadlines for things even if they don't have one. Have a great day!
