The official video depicts the story more fully. Missing here is a key moment when she visits him in prison near the 60 month mark and says simply: thank you. It’s also powerful seeing her drive his truck all those years later. That said, I was blown away with the quality of this live performance. I can’t tell with the video obscured if it was lip synched but I don’t believe it was.👏👏👏 Tremendous story and song. We have been looking forward to you seeing this one, Britt. Thank you.
Tony, I think it is live... Hardy was just a wee bit pitchy on the first phrase... but I think that helps prove it is not tracked.... now the musicians, not sure, they are not visible.
I loved your comments and reactions. My son Justin directed this video, and thank you you for your comments, Domestic violence is a bad thing and this song and video brings it to the front view.
Loved this reaction. Many people get hung up on him doing this for a stranger, not me, and apparently not you either. Hardy is a phenomenal songwriter and performer. The Song "Mockingbird & the crow" is an interesting glimpse into who he is. Have not been disappointed by any I have heard.
"No greater love has a man than to lay down his life for another," -- from the bible (slightly paraphrased because the bible says, 'his friends' and not just 'another') That is exactly what he did. He put his life on hold to rescue her from hell. None of us would hesitate to stop a stranger's child from wandering into a busy roadway or falling into a pond or lake. He did the same thing for an adult. This is how I see it. She probably wouldn't have been in that situation except the system failed her. A lot of men just walk right through restraining orders and often kill when they do.
The official video is actually a mini-movie that puts powerful visuals to the lyrics. To add to the other comments... he was not bad man, he was not an evil man... he was a man who saw a need, saw an evil and acted on that need and evil. He was a man of faith (evidenced by the court scene bridge (Oh Lord have mercy on me was not asked to the court system... it was a plea to God) and visibly evidenced by the cross hanging on his rear view mirror... was his action legal, obviously not based on the trial, was it morally just.... that is up to each individual for you cannot legislate morality... but for every victim of DV, he would be an answered prayer... and for every man... the story forces the question... "what would I do?"
I don't know Mark.. I've seen a lot of non-Christian people cry to the Lord when they get themselves in big sh*t. Not saying that is always bad but just because they end up with nowhere else to turn, doesn't make them people of faith.
After they did this video, Hardy presented Lainey with a Taurus Judge ... it's the name of a handgun! My husband had one and I shot it ONCE! It shoots 20 ga. shotgun shells and has one heck of a kick!!!! I'm with you, this is a REAL man. We all know the law's hands are tied and unless he really hurts her, there is nothing they can do! Hardy took care of that for her and traded his freedom for hers!
The original video has much more of that gospel flavor. You get a glimpse of it in the live performance, but there is a full gospel choir backing them in the recording.
I'm 42, never cared about celebrities, but have to admit, Lainey brought real country back. My first celeb crush. Love the Louisiana accent. 1st song was Things a Man outta know.
Hardy wrote that song. Also has wrote songs for other country singers. Such an AMAZING song!! I was hoping you would do a reaction video of this song. I need to also say, you're EXTREMELY beautiful!!
The Judge under the seat is a Taurus revolver, .45 caliber with an oversize cylinder designed to chamber .45 Colt pistol rounds and .410 gauge shotgun shells
I have heard the song and seen this performance plus the official video many times. What I really like about her outfit is how the hat, and extreme bell bottoms balance with her caboose. Someone (maybe Lainey herself) knows how to make an outfit do justice to a body.
I know! She’s the first reactor I’ve seen who mentioned that. Angels are not the cute cuddly little toddlers you see in paintings. There’s a reason the Bible records most of their messages to people as starting with, “Don’t be afraid.” Balaam didn’t get that reassurance because he needed to be afraid.
Just an incase you didn't know, you picked up on the judge under the seat. In the video, the pewpew he grabbed from under the seat is called Judge. Hardy really thought of everything when writing this song imo.
New subscriber and watching some old videos. Had to watch Hardy and Lainey for like the 1000th time. I’m a retired police officer, but I’m also a DV survivor. I was very young, and the last time I almost died. So I ran. Went into the Army. Then became a police officer. I didn’t run any more, I put cuffs on the abusers.
Hardy is fairly new. He didn't really sing much, but wrote a ton of hits for others! Both God's Country & Hell Right were written by Hardy! They were both big hits for Blake Shelton!! Hardy's actually in the video for Hell Right! He's finally coming out to sing! And he should! Hell Right! lol ❤
This is my favorite reaction to date of this song. Your facial expressions were priceless. Thanks for the small escape from the world you provide with these videos. Much love and prayers ❤️ 🙏
The judge is the name of the revolver he pulled out from under the seat in the video... lol it was my husband's favorite part of the song.. lol I think he was excited to know something I didn't.. but, definitely a good video!
I always wondered in this song her vocal “ day of justice would come from a judge under the seat.” Referring to a Taurus Judge revolver playing on Hardy being the judge, jury and executioner.
Such a powerful song. Writing about doing the right thing, even if you have to suffer for it? Not a lot of that going on these days. Hardy isn't the best singer, there's so many AMAZING singers out there; but puts everything into it, and his songwriting is on point. Lainey Wilson, on the other hand, has ridiculous skills, and looks amazing to boot. 60 months in and would do it again? That's conviction. Also, some angels carry swords!
Oh my goodness, as much as this is one of my favourite live country performances, this is the ONE song you must see the video. Whenever I recommend this song to reactors which is OFTEN because it's so amazing and the topic so important, I always emphasize reacting to the video first. I hope by now you've seen it 😊
So glad you did the live version. I've seen a lot of comments sayong the video is better. Yes, the video is more powerful visually and worth a watch, BUT the emotion they both put into this performance gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
I am a huge Hardy fan. I have watched many reaction videos to this song. You are the first person to pick up and comment on the “judge under a seat” lyric.
Britt, this is one of my absolutely favorite reactions!!! Hardy and Laney are amazing together and as individual singers!! Hardy is an amazing songwriter
The music video hits much harder than this. Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing performance, but the video is "woah.". Amazing reaction as always! Keep it up!
I appreciate why you like live performances. However, this is one of those songs that almost require watching the music video in order to grasp the full impact!
Miss Brit, u r not foolin no one!!, and what I mean by that is, U also can “sang” girl!! I mean ur voice is just as phenomenal as Lainey Wilson’s is!!!!! O and ur just as Beautiful as she is!!
QUEEN,! I had the same thought about "angels" , the first time I heard the song! You were speaking the truth, about angels!! Love how Lainey is embracing her curves!! Love this song, and "I got a heart like truck"..
Hell yeah I love this song. He knocked and knocked and no one came. Then he put the boot to it ( kicked in the double wide door). Then he let the hammer drop before he got to that 12 he was reaching for . Didn't try to hide his pistol. Didn't try to run. He just sat there smoked dudes cigarette and waited for the cops to come. If he would somehow put in there smokimg one of his cigarettes and dranking his beer and whiskey waiting on cops to come.
I totally love your reactions to songs. I love that you can really follow the details of the words, I love your attention to the details of each artist... but most of all... totally love when you show your faith in Jesus and the good Lord above. I have so many amazing country songs that deal so much with faith issues that I would totally love to see you review! SO SO SO many!!
FYI, I went back and watched the official video. The gun he pulls from under the seat, is not a Taurus Judge, as some viewers have stated. The Judge is chambered for .45 Long Colt/.410 shot shell. The cylinder of a Judge is 50% longer than the gun he had. The video is not that clear, but it appears to be a S&W .357 Combat Master, 3" barrel. If you want to get technical.
I was weary about you doing the live and not the video, but I liked that you did the live because you really focused on the lyrics. Some have reacted to the video and didn't catch what the chorus said cause their so focused on the video. But yeah you have to watch the video now. Lol
Wait in the Truck is a Toned-Down Story version of Read me my Rights by Brantly Gibert, maybe not a fair comparison, But the message is the same. All it takes for evil men to do evil thing is for good men to do nothing.
The video was SOOO much better!
But kudos to Britt for getting the story without it!
Agreed!
ABSOLUTELY. This doesn't get it. PLEASE look up the original video.
Sadly YT hates reactors reacting to official videos. I HATE it but I love her reactions.

Tremendous story and song. We have been looking forward to you seeing this one, Britt. Thank you.
100% need to watch the video.
I think they added that part because she is continuing to wait in the truck for him to get out of there. Maybe i'm reading into it too much.
@@JPyo365 That's the way I took it too. Trivia: The prison scene was filmed in an elementary school.
Tony, I think it is live... Hardy was just a wee bit pitchy on the first phrase... but I think that helps prove it is not tracked.... now the musicians, not sure, they are not visible.
@@markmyers6472 thanks, Mark. Good point.
Southern women grow up understanding what it means when a man says "wait in the truck". No argument, no questions.
The official music video really makes the song that much more powerful. I absolutely love this song, Hardy and Lainey Wilson. Amazing collaboration
The video is something you're going to want to watch. Mercy! He would of been my Angel
I loved your comments and reactions. My son Justin directed this video, and thank you you for your comments, Domestic violence is a bad thing and this song and video brings it to the front view.
Yes....should watch the official video!!!
The video is so much better... and hardy is an amazing songwriter!!
Loved this reaction. Many people get hung up on him doing this for a stranger, not me, and apparently not you either. Hardy is a phenomenal songwriter and performer.

He is such a multi-faceted gem that sticks to his own beliefs and that alone deserves respect
I love this song
GREAT REACTION! It is a powerful song and I loved your reaction to it. I felt the same way listening to it.
The official video is actually a mini-movie that puts powerful visuals to the lyrics.

I could never get tired of hearing this song, even if it was on repeat.
Lainey Wilson also does a LOT of the music for the series Yellowstone (yes, she is also in that too).
You have to check out the official video !!

Hardy is a great songwriter and performer. You're in for a treat with Hardy!!! Mockingbird and the Crow is AWESOME!!!!
Yes you must watch the video excellent video
The official video tells the story
love how you comment on her amazing ASSets!! of course I mean her voice. Have to watch the official video too.
Hardy is, and has been, one of the best songwriters in country music for years.
They did a great job recreating the video on this set.
The Judge under the seat is a Taurus revolver, .45 caliber with an oversize cylinder designed to chamber .45 Colt pistol rounds and .410 gauge shotgun shells
please do the official video!!! its so much better
This song is written by Hardy, Hunter Phelps, Jordan Schmidt, and Renee Blair. It is Hardy featuring Lainey Wilson.
You need to see the video
I have heard the song and seen this performance plus the official video many times. What I really like about her outfit is how the hat, and extreme bell bottoms balance with her caboose. Someone (maybe Lainey herself) knows how to make an outfit do justice to a body.
When politicians wont prosecute criminals, and leave victims without a voice, justice finds a way.
That was actually a good live performance!
Just listen to it twice and I could listen to this all day... peace
Those Archangels aren’t to be messed with!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Also are the end of the video she leaves the prison, in HIS TRUCK. She still waiting in the truck.
@@sarahmckee3914 Awaiting his release from prison...
The video is everything
Gotta watch the video
This one was definitely one you needed to watch the music video
For your own enjoyment of this song, look for the official video, it works so well with song.
Another hardy song I love is give heaven some hell
Lainey also played the character "Abby" on Yellowstone.
Music video just carry’s so much more power to the song.
Hardy is a Master song writer and the song is based on a TRUE story
This been my new favorite song since I discovered too
The music video is absolutely awesome as well!
New subscriber and watching some old videos. Had to watch Hardy and Lainey for like the 1000th time. I’m a retired police officer, but I’m also a DV survivor. Best reaction to this song that ive seen 100%
Love this reaction! 😊 I'm soooo glad you liked it cuz I love ❤️ this song!
I find it great that you know about the Judge.
Check the video…it adds so much to it!!! P.s.love the reactions!
Lol a judge under the seat.. it’s a type of gun. The video is the best I get chills from this song!
Such a powerful song. Writing about doing the right thing, even if you have to suffer for it? Not a lot of that going on these days. This is my favorite DV justice song but Independence Day is a long time favorite and was one of my anthems when I left my abuser
“Ain’t nothing to it but to do it”👑👑

The real video is a million times better. It gives you a better understanding of this great song!
You have to see the video… please do a reaction video for that also… it’s so much more powerful
The music video hits much harder than this. Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing performance, but the video is "woah.". Amazing reaction as always! Keep it up!

I love this song! So powerful. Beautiful story and delivered perfectly. Big ups to Hardy and Lainey.❤ Great reaction Britt
Gotta agree with the rest. The official video makes the song come to life.

I hope you watched the Video at some point. You would definitely Love the Video! And you were spot on with your Description of Lainey Wilson.
Must see the Official video!!!
Lainey Wilson is from my Great State of Louisiana 😊
Video make it fantastic for this song!!
That is the original truck from the video, that she drives now, since hes in for life.....😊❤
Wait in the Truck is a Toned-Down Story version of Read me my Rights by Brantly Gibert, maybe not a fair comparison, But the message is the same. All it takes for evil men to do evil thing is for good men to do nothing.
