I realize that this vid is a couple of years old and things have changed so I have a couple of updates.
The 1/2x1/2x3/4 is now available from HD (1/2 price of Am) HD# 187518.
The 2" reducer is available to go directly 1/2" eliminating the 3/4 x 1/2 street reducer bushing and 1 joint. (couple of bucks cheaper too)
AM has the 1/4' copper tube in 1' length. Hope this helps
Thanks for all the updated info. I have also found out through talking with so many others around the country that not all HD locations stock the same products.
@@StillnTheClear yes, I realize that not all HD are going to have that on the shelf, but they will ship it to the store for free. One question. The parts list says spout is 1/4" in the video you stated 3/8". Which is correct?
@@Max-ol5wh it is 3/8. I misspeak so often it's a running joke, lol.
The top fitting needs to be 1.50 x 1 reducer, not 1.25 x 1 reducer as stated in the parts list portion of the video. The 1.25 is too small and my gap was much smaller than what is shown in the video
Nice catch. Thank you for the comment.
@@StillnTheClear ...assuming the Parts List hasn't been updated?
You done amazing job but should of drilled the drip hole first before putting it all together easier work... I've make these for people 👍
Yes, absolutely. Thanks for the comment.
Nicely done, Cyrus! In a pinch, I use pliers with long handles pushed into a coffee can full of pebbles or sand. Any kind of pliers work including vice grips. This hack makes it easier to get the torch around a horizontal pipe compared to a vise which sits too low on the bench.
Good idea, thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy it looks great an thanks for the shopping list
You bet brother. I'm glad you found it useful.
The fitting you refer to as "street"? Is actually in the supply houses are called a bushing it fits inside the pipe. The other is a coupling.
So you would say 1 inch to 7/8 coupling would be 1 inch pipe into a cup that reduces to 7/8 female to receive a 7/8 pipe
A bushing would fit into the cup.
Will be making this soon as i get home from the holidays to go along with my newly ordered items for distillation.
Thank you for the info.
@@StillnTheClear You're welcome, Merry Christmas 🎅
Great information. Only problem: in the required parts at the first of the video you refer to the 90 elbow as a 3/4". In the loose fit assembly, you refer to the 90 elbow as a 1/2". Guessing the 1/2" is correct.
Excellent tutorial, much mahalo for this!
Thank you much.
great video, just a pity the you "speak" in inch, it makes my head spin...
I wish I could do the conversions on the fly for the audience.
Wow nice job very thorough.Great job explaining things.
Thank you!
You got on! Congrats
👍
Soft or hard copper pipe lengths ?
All the pipe is hard copper and the lengths are in the video.
@@StillnTheClear yup got the measurements, Thank you !
