- This video I go over how to build a proofing parrot for distilling. I got all the fitting seen in the video from Home Depot.
1- copper 1” to 1/2” reducer
2’ of 1/2’” copper pipe
2’ of 3/4” copper pipe
1- 1/2” 90 Degree fitting
1- 3/4”-1/2”- 3/4” tee fitting
1- 3/4” to 1” reducer
1 - 1” - 3/4”- 1” tee fitting
1- 3/4” to 1/2” reducer
1- 1/2” 45 degree fitting
4”x 8” 16 oz copper
Clean, flux, and assemble all your parts before soldering on a project like this, it'll REALLY help you to keep everything square and plumb. Plus, in cases where you're soldering both sides of a fitting, you don't waste a lot of heat.
This is so awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Pretty awesome
Really good parrot. One thing I was not happy with was a look at the end result and could of gone with camera around it and seen it fully assembled or pics. Also you put a T fitting at the bottom and needed a end cap to stop it leaking out and then put the cap on the underside of the plate and put legs on four corners for it to stand up steadily 🤣 But hopefully it works for you👌👍
Keep in mind this was built during copper shortages and certain parts weren’t available. But the tee fitting at the bottom is soldered directly to the copper plate at the bottom so no need for a cap. The copper plate it’s self has 1/4” turned down for even support around the bottom and to make it more ridged. I could definitely do better with the pictures and video though

@@bryansworkbench8585 so happy you done the video I'm going to give it ago. What size pipes are they I understand millimetres or inches all we need is a parts list so we can buy all measurements please👍👍
@@DripdropBrewing I’ll have to get back to you on that I think I put it in the description if not I’ll get a list and reply to you
Hmm most parrots have piped in pipe not sure how you will read this one
How are you going to read it? Can you see through copper?
Look down at it, you can slide the tube up more, you can cut the top down take your pick. Been running it just fine. Plus a proofing parrot just gives you an idea of where you are in the run not give you an exact reading of what’s in the jar. You still need to proof the jars and make your cuts.
You okay?
I want to do this can you give me a list of what I need to get at Home Depot
Yes the parts list is in the description
Extremely sloppy work...
First time making it with parts during a pandemic when you can’t get the proper stuff that fits together. I’m sure you were an expert right off the bat though. So I’ll just appreciate the comment from the Michael Jordan of copper work thanks pal
