Omg I love you Hailey I am a total bookworm I get bullied at school about it but after school I go on your channel and I literally forget about them for an hour.
I am so sorry you have to live through school life where people get bullied for reading it makes no sense! Did my high school in past decade i.e.00s and earlier part of 2010s and reading was more like badge of honour
My no.1 underrated YA book is "I am the Messenger" by Markus Zusak. Everyone knows The Book Thief, but I feel like they don't really heard about his other books and I am the Messenger is just as good as The Book Thief! Also "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller. I just love this book, the relationship in it is so beautiful, it killed me... everyone should read this!
Congrats Hailey. 100000 subscribers now. You had 88k when I started watching :) So you would be getting your silver button and your university degree this year. Congrats for both. Much love ♡
how I watch like every booktube Video: listen what you're saying about the book. Searching the german name of the book. Then I look in the Website of the local library if it's there. And when there's a book which actually is in german and in my library I'm reaaally happy (sry for bad english)
Your bookshelf is goals ❤️💛💚💙💜 Also, I'm a new subscriber and absolutely adore your videos, giving me such inspiration for books 📚 thank you, love from England xx
You should read You by Caroline Kepnes! It's soooo good! Deff my favorite read! I'm in love with it! It's sooo underrated and it's been made into a show currently. It's told in second person perspective and it's about this guy who's basically a pyschopath named Joe and falls completely in love with this girl named Beck! But seriously it's SOOO good!
I don't know if it's just me but I am so obssessed with this channel. I mean, just looking at books that I haven't seen yet, it's like a new opportunity for me. I really love your channel, Hailey. The criticism and the love you give for the books you have is very helpful and sharing your appreciation of books to the world convinces me that I definitely can relate to you.
yesss Gemma Doyle and His Fair Assassin some other underrated or lesser known books on my shelf are the Queen's Thief Trilogy by Megan Whalen Turner, The Memoirs of Lady Trent by Marie Brennan, The Farsala Trilogy by Hilari Bell, The Bloody Jack Adventures by L. A. Meyer, The Chronicles of Faerie by O. R. Melling, everything by Patricia A. McKillip... and probably a lot more that I can't think of right now
found your channel literally at 12 am this morning & watched this video & next thing i know i'm ordering three of these books at 1:30 in the morning. can't wait til they're in my hands!
I've actually heard a fair bit about You're Welcome Universe and cannot wait to get my hands on it! Also heard of Scythe the other day, sounds brilliant too! I really want to read The Female of the Species too!!
I know that this series was popular a while ago, but I've hardly heard anyone talk about the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer series in a while I read them a few months ago and absolutely flew through them because they were so amazing!! 😍😍
Hailey!! I read "The Female of the Species" because of you and omg I cannot stop thinking about it. I'm going to give you a recommendation, as I read this right after TFOTS and it left a similar imprint on my mind and heart. Try "Every Last Word." It involves poetry and OCD. Hope you enjoy!
The Gemma Doyle Trilogy yessss!!!!! I first read a great and terrible beauty as a teenager when it first came out (must be like 12 or so years now, yikes) and I followed the series through. To this day they remain my favorite books of all time and I've actually been planning a reread because it's been a while. So happy to hear someone talking about these books! You're right that they don't seem to get enough attention.
The host by Stephenie Meyer is so underrated and I love that book! So much better than the twilight saga! And so before it's time, it was dystopian before they became popular!
ive recently found you in my reccommended because ive started to read again (I go in waves of reading tonnes then not reading for months, ive currently read 3 books in 5 days...). Think i'll check out a few of these books if i can find them in my bookstores, if not ill look online...
I have never heard of Code Name Verity, but it sounds really interesting, I have put it on my TBR-list. I recently bought A List of Cages and I can't wait to read it.. Besides Booktube I never heard anyone talking about it.. Lovely video btw, your content is so unique and inspiring! :)
I'm planning on re-reading the Gemma Doyle trilogy within the next couple of months. I made it halfway through The Sweet Far Thing before I got overwhelmed by the amount I was reading at the time. It's been 10 years, and I can't wait to get back into that story.
Some that I really love that I feel are underrated are indeed The Crown's Game (Evelyne Skye), Born Wicked (Jessica Spotswood), Starcrossed (Josephine Angelini), Insignia (S.J. Kincaid), Die for Me (Amy Plum), Air Awakens (Elise Kova) and Insomnia (J.R. Johansson). Just naming a few, I have tons xD
I loooove the Gemma Doyle trilogy, it is still one of my favorites ♥️ also My Lady Jane and Code Name Verity are on my TBR, can't wait to read those ones
I absolutely loved seeing the Gemma Doyle trilogy on your shelf and it being listed as an underrated ... I had gotten the first book from local read it again bookstore and loved it so much that had to get the rest ... since watching your video you have suggested so many books that seem so interesting ... I have currently read the incarnate trilogy and now I'm reading the eon duology which I can't put it down
Congrats for the 100 subscriptions! That's awesome :). A book that doesn't get as much hype as it should on my shelves is definitely A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness! It's my favourite book and I don't feel like people talk about it much :(.
I also adored Code Name Verity, The Conspiracy of Us, Grave Mercy, and Walk on Earth a Stranger! Great list! A whole bunch on there I still need to read :)
I realy liked the first book from the Pledge trilogy by Kimberly Derting, but those book are so underrated that there are no german copies of the other two book's. Really great video, I'm definitely looking for those books. :)
I really want to read A List of Cages and Scythe! and congratulations on the 100K subs. I just started my channel and I'm going to review The Female of the Species soon because it's so WONDERFUL!
CONGRATS ON 100K QUEEN! I actually subscribed when you posted your first "underrated reads" video and you were at 30k subscribers! books like shatter me which were in that video now have 250,000 ratings on goodreads lol.
I absolutely love your channel! I was wondering if you can do a video on your favorite diverse reads? (it can be anything like POC, LGBTQIA+, mental health, disabilities etc) I've been in need of some recommendations!!
I really enjoyed Grave Mercy and it's companion novels. I also think that it's pretty underrated. And yes to My Lady Jane!! Such a good book!! I have recommended it so many times now. Especially the audiobook, so good.
"Jellicoe Road" by Melina Marchetta!!!!! This is a beautiful book. You go through a roller coaster of emotions reading it. I was actually surprised by how many people have never heard of this writer! I went on a binge & read all her books earlier this year and Jellicoe was my favorite
the gemma doyle trilogy has been on my radar for soooo long haha I finally need to read it. I think the valiant, a list of cages, the bone season, falling kingdoms & my sister rosa are very underhyped. hahaha that book with the deaf main character and graffiti really reminded me of switched at birth
Cute video - loved all the suggestions! Some books that I feel are underrated reads are actually 2 different series. The first one is the Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi and the other is the Shatter Me series by Taherah Mafi. I absolutely ADORE the writing style, characters, and strong world building in both!!
The 100 series! I know that the show is very popular, but the book's are amazing too, in my opinion at least. They have had some mediocre reviews, but I personally thought the plot, writing and characters were all great, and the books deserve as much hype as the show.
I think some of the most underrated books are by Kady Cross. I've read Sisters of Blood and Spirit, and now reading the sequel, Sisters of Salt and Iron, about two twin sisters, one is a ghost and one is living! So good. :D
Can u start a book club on ur channel where you decide on a book that everyone reads in a month and then you can talk about it.
YES PLS
omg amazing idea
Omg I love you Hailey I am a total bookworm I get bullied at school about it but after school I go on your channel and I literally forget about them for an hour.

Kristina Ma omg “I Am The Messenger” is sooo good! Any time someone asks for a recommendation I tell them to give it a try!
I read My Lady Jane after you recommending it in another video,it was not something I ever would have picked up for myself but I absolutely loved it!

Thank you so much! Ahhhhh! 💜
Yes, Scythe! When I finished this book I was just blown away. It's sooo good and the plot is really unique. Can't wait for a next book.
You is a fine read. I didn't care for its sequel, Hidden Bodies, as it completely sways from the character's personality into ridiculous territory.
I don't know if it's just me but I am so obssessed with this channel. I mean, just looking at books that I haven't seen yet, it's like a new opportunity for me. I really love your channel, Hailey. Yes scythe was so good omg!!! It had a lot of kinda trope-y aspects but it was so well done, totally worth the read
I know that this series was popular a while ago, but I've hardly heard anyone talk about the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer series in a while
I read them a few months ago and absolutely flew through them because they were so amazing!! 😍😍
