I'm new to the Holden community, just picked up a 2012 caprice ppv. What exact model silver box did you order? I'm confused at which one im looking at on their website.
Why would you do this over just having the factory Chevy radio software done? That cost about 200$ and you paid 500$ for this, which is pretty much the same exact functionality when said and done?? Correct me if I’m wrong here.::: I’ll take your old radio if you still have it. I’m working on restoring a g8 gt. ;)
These units have extra hardware that was never fitted to the vehicles sent over to the States. The Caprice got a even more basic unit than the base model Commodore.
The base model Commodore Omegas only had the Bluetooth installed as phone use while driving is illegal in Australia - most Omegas were sold new to fleets, including to Police Forces as a standard patrol car. A bluetooth delete option for the Police Package BT1 cars would have affected future resale - most police forces here tend to turn their fleets over every 2-3 years or so. For perp transport, a 'divvy van' was usually used, which in my State (Victoria) was a Commodore Ute with an interchangeable 'prisoner pod' fitted to the bed. When the divvy van was decommissioned, the pod was removed & placed on a new Ute, the old one would be sold off as a standard Commodore Ute with the BT1 Police Package.
Do you have links to USB and Back up camera adapters etc you used?
Awesome upgrade
Thanks, It's amazing how much more modern it makes the car feel!
Hey will this allow DRL to work? Thanks. Any issues with the unit since purchase?
Where did you pick this up from @The Car Dad

How much did that cost ya?
It was $650 AUD shipped from AUS to the US. That's less than $500 American
