Great sequence thanks. Shows how these high performance racers take 20-30 knots of wind in the nose. Wonderful.
Thanks for sharing - great shots!
Awesome effort, thanks for sharing. The coverage stopped after the leaders exited past the castle.
Great video, thanks for posting.
Great video. Thank you
Marvellous video showing really interesting action. Thanks.
Many Thanks for the kind comment.
Lovely English summer day.
Beautiful..... and no music ❤️
Thank you for sharing this amazing video!
Thanks for the kind comment!
Great footage thanks for sharing
Thank you.
Difficult to find sailing video this good. Nice long clips. Steady camera. Course now we hope for more!
Thank you for the comment. I didn't have a tripod with me so I had to make use of the castle wall (fairly sturdy) and holding the camera with both hands.
@@RodOrmston Totally worth the effort. Thank You!
Heavy sailing conditions. It just shows how powerful Mother Nature is with so many retiring so early. One must truly respect the sea.
Oh BS! That’s nothing moah than a heavy breeze. Those that know how to handle it were reveling. Wish to hell I’d been theyah!
Thank you Rod, wonderful. If you have more, we take it .... please. And if you see LAT 909 a xp44, we would love to see it.
I will have a look out for LAT 909 while I produce a longer version of the video - there's plenty more material!
Notice how the modern, plumb stem, flat bottomed designs got bounded to shreds. They could hahdly hold a handkerchief job and a deep reefed main. The more traditional designed vessels carried fah moah sail and pointed much highah with it.
Yes ldb is not meant for these seas or wind and beating.
Imagine a 3 masted Frigate trying to work their way out in that breeze
How much wind was there? Looks like most boats were had the lowest reef they had in the mainsail.
How much wind in 5.oo ??
Thanks for the footage but the cuts are a bit too quick?
Interesting comment, Thank you. I had around 30 minutes of footage and it was a matter not only of which clips to leave out but also shortening some of the remaining ones. I had reckoned on about 7 minutes overall but it sounds as though there was an appetite for a bit more.
They look almost all overpowered with too much sail for that wind, sailing with that leaning angle doesn't promote into speed.
