@@Edward-mh3pw That's a good idea to try!
I strongly suggest people watch the other video/reviews on this expensive product before buying and consider the reviewer may have been paid to review it.. :)
I agree. For $1000 I will stick to my air fryer.
Nice idea but not practical for me. I've tried Ninja Foodi Grill with the same exact ingredients. Perfect grill-marked char-broil chicken breast with crisp vegetables. The only difference is you don't have the camera to check on the food and gotta toss the vegetables in the halfway mark. I'm pretty sure they will bring another version next year and make me feel bad with the Mercedez oven I already own just like June Oven and Suvie oven did.
I have the foodi grill as well but had to retire it because the types of food I eat was smoking up the house. From what I’ve seen so far this doesn’t smoke when searing or broiling.
Hello! How would you use it as a sous vide circulator? Did you ever do that?
Hey there Heather. I’ve been researching appliances like the brava oven for a little while now. I am completely blind, and I think appliances like this with temperature sensors will be very helpful to me in my cooking ventures. Would you recommend this product for use by someone who does not have any functional vision? Thank you for your help.
Wonderful review 😊, I want one😅. More Brava recipes please? 😊
We have this, works very well The biggest drawback for us is the size, we really need something bigger. Single person or couple, works very well.
Great video! Thank you.
Can you cook a whole chicken or a medium size beef roast and if so is there a program setup for that or is there a way to manually program in time and temp? Thanks
Hey Connie! Yes you can do both of those and there are already programs set up for them. It's super easy and convenient! Love it! I really do use my Brava pretty much every day.
Such a great video!
WOW! Awesome oven indeed! And would definitely make a great gift. Thanks for sharing. 👍 ☺
Yes! A wonderful gift!!
When using the 3 zone cook, have you ever had to add food after the cooking starts? Is the Brava capable of changing the 3 zones to foods of your choice? Is the egg pan a separate purchase? Can I use my own pots and pans in the Brava?
All great questions, Nancy. Yes, you can add food after the cooking begins, although I've never done that because I tend to pick meals that match the programmed time/temp so it's super easy. Some of the programmed recipes do call for you to add other foods separately. Which leads to question two, yes you can change it up and cook something else, but it should be similar density, size, and color (yes color) as what's in the programmed recipe. The part about the color fascinated me when I first heard it. This is because the Brava cooks with light and different colors absorb different light. Really amazing! Because of the way the oven holds the pans in the slots on the sides, I do not believe you can use your own pans. I'm sure there's probably a way to work around this but I wouldn't advise it. Plus the quality of the Brava pans is really top of the line. You can buy the egg tray packaged with your original purchase or you can buy it separately. (totally worth it!) I hope that answers your questions but feel free to reach back out if you want to know more.
Thanks for the reply. Very informative. My only other question is, does the red covered pan fit in the brackets or does it sit on a shelf? The egg pan really intrigues me, as I have eggs every single morning, and I’m always looking for another way to cook them.
Reverse sear after sous vide? What is the heat like on the outside of it? Might be a good choice for an RV since a normal oven heats the RV up too much in the summer.
That's a great thought about the RV. Obviously, you'd have to be plugged in, but I like the idea! Very little heat on the outside, actually.
@@Thespicyapron We currently use a largish portable toaster oven and plug it in on a table outside to keep the heat out there. The propane oven in the RV gets it just too hot inside.
Wow sounds so cool! I would love to see more dehydrated recipes.
I will definitely be adding some of those!
I was interested as a single guy...then I seen the price. In 5 or 10 years it will either be gone or hella cheaper.
This is a very biased review since you got it for free and are monetizing the link.
It’s hard to find completely unbiased/honest reviews anymore.
What if your cooking 4 chicken legs and two sides can it be done? Doesn't look like a lot of room on the tray? Also what if your doing a slab of ribs?
This thing looks awesome!!
I've only just begun to discover its awesomeness!
love the Brava!! Great video!
Thanks Jocelyn. Do you have one already? (More people should have them... lol!)
@@Thespicyapron Yes, I have one!! Love it!!
@@jocelynwoolsey5934 Woohoo! Lucky!! Isn't it really amazing?? (I think I said "amazing" about a dozen times in the video! lol!)
Would you recommend this oven for a young person with autism? I’m thinking it would be safer than the regular stove or oven.
Where is this oven made?
Okay first iPhone to say just found your channel and I love it. second my question is me and my husband both love steak but what if I like mine medium well and he likes his well. Can you do 2 steaks at 2 different wellness? My oven is being shipped as we speak.
That is a great question! I've never tried that. I'll have to give it a shot and get back to you.
@@Thespicyapron thank you!
Please do more Bravo videos and continue to show process of cooking items and adjustments and permanently saving to that program for future cooking. I also like to see a few things cooked without it being programmed in oven.Ur presentations are fabulous.
Thanks Connie! I will definitely work on getting some of those out!
I have to agree with some of the other commentators that this review seems pretty biased since you received it free of charge and the channel is monetized.
Is worth every penny...all on one appliance...not need to have a cluttered kitchen counter 😝.No need for pots, pans, nothing. No microwave, range toaster..simply amazing ...just add food and be healthier.Wonderful for apts and traveling 😋🥳
Not excuses...there's payment options. No need to trash this product.
Well said!
Love it! How about slow cook recipes such as a pot roast?
That's a great idea! I haven't done a pot roast in it yet so I'm looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the suggestion!
Cautions: (1) You need 20 amp direct plug service to run the 1800 watt oven (no extension cords). Most kitchens only have 15 amps. (2) Reliability is questionable. My granddaughter's Brava has required 3 repair trips to the factory in 2-1/2 years, so far covered by the 3-year warranty. (3) Be sure to clean the interior often, as deep cleaning can be difficult. (4) Some cleaning tasks and changing the halogen bulbs require taking the oven apart with tricky screw and socket connections. (5) At 55 lbs the oven is too heavy for me to lift. (6) Best to keep to Brava's recipes, as some ingredients and sauces can overheat or burn. (7) Owner's manual suggests letting oven cool a few minutes between cooking sessions, which can delay meal prep.
The versatility of this appliance might make it perfect for van life. Gotta check out the power consumption.
It does require a 20 amp dedicated circuit. The size makes it perfect and would be awesome for it. Just make sure you've got the appropriate power. (My daughter and her hubby just quit their corporate jobs to join the van life movement! It's a great move for them! :) )
I just received my brother right now however I’m waiting for a call so they can show me how to use it I cannot wait
Great video. Where Can I purchase a Bravo Oven in The U.K., please?
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, the Brava isn't yet available in the UK (Too bad for those of you across the pond...) Thanks for asking though!
Thanks for letting me know.
A $1000.00 Oven that isn't even big enough to bake a 12" frozen store boughten pizza! Are you kidding me? I thought about buying one until I learned about this!
Can you show chicken cutlet parmigiana?
How about thanksgiving Turkey?
Wow
I just ordered and I can’t wait to try it
Yay! You'll love it!
chicken parm with fries
Oooh.... yep! Definitely have to try that!
Technology costs money. If you are going to be one of the firsts you have to pay. I am buying one to help me to make healthy choices at home rather than ordering out all the time. This will save me a bag of loot over the long run. Thanks for the excellent review!
You are absolutely right! It will save you lots of money over time (and maybe not even that much time!) I use my Brava nearly every day and still love it!! It's a great device and the support is excellent. Thanks for your comment!
Lasagna 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can u see if u can steam rice and fish
Let me try to figure out the best way to do that. I'll let you know!
Nah, I don't think so, especially at $1095 to $1495.
Yeah, kind of expensive to make egg McMuffin, lol.
Pure light? At those temps I suspect your electric bill will ‘reflect’ higher cost as well.
It looks like a 3-D printer
Roasted potatoes and prime rib.
Looks really great but oh the PRICE $$$$$
This one definitely fits in the category "worth every penny." I've tried lots of expensive kitchen things that were just a waste of money. Not this one though... (I'm sure that's why they give a 100 day trial.)
That's the only thing the price. If they have a deal of monthly payments.
Just like on TV you will $200 sheetz, you can find a broiler oven for $1000 somewhere.
Is it amazing!?!?
Haha! Glad you got that point! lol!
Steak n roast fried potatoes
Great review but recommend you get a 🎤 because it sounds like you’re yelling which makes the video harder to watch.
What about a chuck roast? I want my roast falling apart tender.
Great idea! I have done pulled pork (in that awesome chef's pan), but I haven't tried a chuck roast. Adding it to my list!
@@Thespicyapron Sous Vide is the answer.....Better and fool proof
@@jtrt1 I love sous vide! I do it all the time. No need to get rid of sous vide. This Brava does so much more than that! I'm keeping both! :)
Casseroles
Yes! I've made a few now and they're delish!
Bread
Beef jerky
By what I've seen with this oven it looks like it would fit a pretty small niche of people. I love cooking and don't like following exact recipes so this defiantly not for me. I'm sure they will sell a bunch to people who want an easy way to make great food but I'm sure most of those people will buy it try it then shortly after have a long life in their basement. How many people are really going to try cooking and laying out exactly what it wants. To me it just seems like it a hassle to buy the correct food and set it up just right. Want to swap out white potatoes for a dark veg, nope can't do that! The cost is crazy and it's small. I just bought a Ninja air fryer that's twice the size, only $400 and it comes with a temp probe, two baking trays, one roasting tray and a air fry basket. The food I have seen coming out of it after watching a few vids is pretty mediocre.
Erm.... the food doesn’t look great to me, especially for the price of this unit.
Omg! Pure light technology!?! I can't believe it
🙄
It's actually pretty amazing!
rib bye and a whole potato
This is good if you can’t cook and you have money. Not sure why you would want this is you know how to cook.
Interesting perspective. I’m actually a really good cook and I LOVE my Brava.!
The Spicy Apron there’s a lot of joy in cooking and I feel this removes some of this. A bit too technical for my liking. Call me old school...
Well I can assure you that it doesn’t take the joy out of cooking. But you are correct in that it’s a bit technical. But I’m kind of a techie so it suits me well. :).
Most people that cook know how much time it takes to get a meal to the table. Maybe this will help speed some of this process up and apparently it makes cleanup much easier since you basically have only one pan.
If you can cook you don't need this. This is for people who can't cook and love setting up exact recipes as per their instructions.
Yep starting at $1000 and upto $1500 with accessories. Thats a no from me..
$$$$$$ .........a lot of $$$$$$$
I'll give you 200$ max
My concerns are the infrared light used for this as per researchers have indicated that High-energy radiation, such as x-rays, gamma rays, alpha particles, beta particles, and neutrons, can damage DNA and cause cancer. Therefore, I have my reservations.
You are exposed to infrared every day all day. Feel the warmth from the sun, infrared, patio heaters, infrared, warmth you feel from your stove, infrared. You are exposed to infrared even if you don't feel any warmth. If something has any heat to it, ie above 0 deg kelvin, it gives off infrared. This is how infrared cameras work. Even you personally gives off infrared. So nothing to worry about.
Your video fk'ed up and was fast forwarded when you described what it does
I’m thinking that was intentional.
That chicken looked horrendous. You were clearly paid to make this video.
The chicken was actually delish! And I love this Brava. I make chicken in it all the time and it's super moist and flavorful. So, my bad if the video didn't convey that. Have a good weekend!
if this is an #ad then this is not a review
Correction. It is an honest review. As I said in the video, Brava did send me this oven to try it out and I loved it so much, I decided to do a review video of it. I am required to pu #ad since they sent it to me. I hope that clarifies it! :)
Seems like much of this cooking can be achieved with a garden-variety toaster oven…
Do a turkey enough to feed 12 for Thanksgiving.....didn't think so.
sorry, this is a very expensive gadget that I can't see myself buying or using very much and for that reason, I'm out.
I totally get how this smart oven isn't for everyone, but I can actually do a turkey that will feed 8-10 people! It really does SO many things a regular oven can't do, which is why I love it. I do appreciate your comment though! Thanks for watching!
She got it free so she loves it 😒
Just to be clear... I love it because it's awesome! Yes, Brava sent it me to try it out. Many companies send me free stuff, but if I don't like it, I don't make videos about it. I absolutely 100% love the Brava oven and highly recommend it.
Cannot see the chicken when you say how perfectly it is cooked...I could
not see the potatoes when you were raving about them.....a close up of the
food needs to allow us to see perfectly the juiciness of chicken or the sear
of the potatoes....please......it's the outcome of all you were showcasing,...
The English Muffins were not toasted & you need to show how you specified choosing
the eggs and English Muffins on your smart phone or oven screen......
Two minutes in and nothing but babble
Feel free to move right on to the next channel.... ;)
