- Опубліковано 18 гру 2018
- Brava's smart oven is the latest in a line of connected kitchenware that promises to take the guess-work out of cooking. Using high-powered lamps to rapidly cook food with light, Brava promises to be fast and precise. It also offers meal kit services that will pair with the oven's preset cook modes. But with its $1000 price tag and $40 per meal kit, Brava makes take-out look awfully appealing.

and here i am cooking with no ram in my oven like a chump.
OMG how does it even post?
LMAO
Is the latest security patch and anti-virus up-to-date? I don't want any malicious cookware.
Non-smart halogen ovens have been around for a couple of decades now. I had one myself and know several people who also own(ed) one. The thing is: they’re brilliant while they work, but the halogen elements tend not to last very long. If you regularly use it I would expect a lifetime of one to two years max. Then you will have to replace at least one of the heating elements if not more. That might be OK for a $59 halogen oven, but certainly not for $1000.
Exactly. If anyone wants to learn why this is long-abandoned tech, all they have to do is by a used pro-jock model from a restaurant.
Straight)
Why not make it 3d VR as well? I would like "to be" in the oven when my food is roasting
😂🤣😂🤣
LMAOOOOOOOOO
Just add a webcam with AI object recognition and stream it to your phone in Google Carboard.
I've had my Brava smart oven for a month now.
I'm an amateur cook who is observing a vegan diet for January.
It's quite helpful. Quick delicious meals in an instant.
I'm satisfied with it
Shawn Schoonmaker you’re a sheep
Does it have SSD?
Lol
For a $1000 oven I’d expect the door to at least be perfectly aligned not like a crooked crap @1:22
looks like the handles off too
yas read her
Never in my entire life would I ever thought I could say that there's more RAM in that oven than there was on the Apollo computers that got mankind onto the moon.
Great, this oven has more memory than my phone.
And it has a GPU which is something you definitely need when cooking your chicken wing.
Well if it's using visual processing to determine the level of how cooked something is, then yes it very well would need a GPU.
You have less than one gb of ram in your phone?
More memory than your phone? I’m almost positive you don’t understand the difference between RAM and storage.
Come to think of it, with those specs, there's a chance this oven runs on Android Things.
Is your phone from 2010?
Irony is, this oven will be great for beginners and students but they wont be able to afford them, and proffesionals aswell as home cooks wont use this.
Students maybe, but rich beginners young mom with rich husband may
also you might be underestimating the luxury product market for people who buy things that they simply never even intend to use
will it last ? specially those lights, what happens when there's even 1 bulb went out? uneven cook? replaceable?
no
But can it run Crisis? (Old joke i know)
i was looking for this
No, but I genuinely do think it can run Quake with a but of modding.
It blends tho
Back in the 70's our school had a option for lunch where you bought a hamburger, hot dog, or small pizza in a plastic bag and cooked it in a oven much like this...set the dail to 'hamburger' it lights up with halogen type bulbs. Some convenience stores still have that system. So, I could see this working at a institutional level for break rooms, dorm common areas, etc... and selling their barcoded prepackaged 'tv dinners' from a vending machine.
What makes this different than my Breville XL toaster oven? Is this pretty much a fancy toaster oven?
What's the best inexpensive toaster oven and if you want to be able to cook a pizza inside? Thanks
How much fps you get when running Crysis?
*Slaps roof of brava*
You ever want an oven that can run all your emulators?
Is the inside of the box easy to clean?
Thanks! You had me at 'throw out everything you know about cooking.'
What's the iFixit repairability score?
An interesting concept and I'd like to try it. But at that price I'd want it to teach me how to cook in general, not just specifically for the device itself. I have a basic halogen oven for the counter top and I use it all the time. Never heard about different colored foods taking different times to cook, but I guess it makes sense.
Can it cook a small roast or Turkey
What about accessibility, does it have voice output or a simple web interface so a web browser with speech output can allow a person with a visual impairment to operate the oven, or for people who cannot use touch screens because of limited fine hand dexterity control Bluetooth for keyboard control?
Can it heat up a cup of coffee
6 lamps and a camera don't equal 1000 dollars
Nor does a foldable phone
So I need to fax a muffin. What do I do?
Remember to install adult filters on the browser, so your kids don't watch porn on the oven
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Also make sure to cover your nude fowl's privates with aluminum foil in case they open the door while you're not looking.
That's a beautiful looking oven...and for $1000, this is way more practical than an iPhone.
No, it's fucking not
Quad core chicken wings
Looks cool
For the price of that thing I buy 7 kitchen aid ovens and cook everything separately without fiddling with an app.
nice review.... I want a brava now!
But can it run crysis 3?
Save your money and get an instant pot.
@@1usi0n 😂
Save even more money still, and get a regular pressure cooker.
Save even more money yet and just learn how to cook
hunnerdayEDT save you money and buy a real oven. It’s half the price
Save even more money and stop eating.
No but seriously, I have one.
It cooks as advertised and she neglected to mention that it comes with a Dutch Oven. There's endless meal options and it's faster than a conventional oven. But get what works for you.
Excellent Review!!! Thank you 🙇
It would be great if this had internet and RFID. That way it would be possible to update more often, allow comparison of ratings, and even licenced tv dinner type frozen meals.
Can it run Crysis?
Mac mini I was waiting for is finally out.
My friend has one of these and she absolutely loves it and uses it often. But she won it at work in a raffle. I'd love one but I am not paying $1000 for this thing.
What about a casserole dish? How would you handle the casserole??!?
I'll ask them to work on that
A major feature you missed to include in the review is the ability to get over the air updates. Both the Brava and June have professional chefs on staff that can review issues with your meals and update your oven with new recipes to cook the foods that are not in the default menu.
Captain Jack If you pay for it!
Why the heck does it need a graphic cards there are many computers without one there isn’t any display
Why is the front door crooked
I have a Brevil for under $300 which I use a lot. It doesn’t heat up your whole house like a big stove oven does.
I honestly applaud the hard work and time that went into making this, but it seems like it’s pretty over-engineered. If they could make a simpler version (with just a few basic instructions) at a cheaper price, I’d be all over it!
ill wait for the 4G or 5G model.
*Not gonna lie, the food looked really good 🤤😂😋*
It is
I came for a review of the oven that I knew nothing about. You lost me at $1,000
A thousand bucks and you need a dedicated circuit to run it. My favorite line in this video: "There's a pro cook mode in beta" Hysterical! I'll stick with the old-fashioned way of getting food hot.
but can it play Crisis
This so-called Smart Oven seems pretty dumb to me. I think they're hoping people will buy it, find out how difficult it is to use all the zones, and start buying the meal kits. I'll be surprised if this thing is still on the market in a year or two.
Oh we have a new Juicero!
Presenter is speaking so quickly and mumbling. I'm almost certain the review is concise and insightful, however it's impossible to understand.
Absolutely agree. She's not suited for english language verbal presentation in this format.
I understood her just fine
Where can I find meal kits???! I scoured the entire internet it's like they never existed
Lady is singaporean lah?
But can it run Crysis?
$500 I would consider!!
Of major concern is that the higher priced kit comes with "3 months of Brava+ membership ($29.97 value)" (So $120 a year) In looking up what that it, it talks about being able to save settings and use the APP and also get software updates. So am I to understand that unless I am part of the Brava+ membership I can not use the APP to save things, check on the status, get updates etc? That would be one very poor thing that you need to pay for a monthly service to use such an oven. Can't even get software updates with out a paid service? Unheard of to say the least with a product that runs on software! After all, as you say, it's a computer.
Please tell me I am incorrect in the above as it makes zero sense to have to pay to use the product itself in a way that clearly is not really talked about unless you find it in an FAQ and understand it. Even more so when you consider the price point.
This will go great with my juicero!
Presenter's narration is a bit hard to understand. There are some parts of the video where the audio sounds so garbled
Chung-thuy Pham makes you zone out
Muazzam.
Is the reviewer a Singaporean?
Ummm I don't get it? Just why?
Why are you cutting squash with the tip of yer knife
NEED SUBTITLE!
why is there no actual window. not that small ass screen.
That Nelly hot in here remix knockoff is pretty dope in the background. I see you Engadget. As for the oven it's a pass. I feel like I would still get more out of a toaster oven
Can you bake a cake pie
but can it run crysis???
I can’t tell by the thumbs up/down if people are judging the quality of the review or the new tech that she is reviewing 🤔😕
0°F-500°F in less than a second? DOUBT!
That's a big ass oven for so little space on the inside. But this thing sounds like it's got way too many problems and drawbacks. And this "review" was pretty poor I might add.
I mean, it seems annoyingly expensive, but if it really does make it that easy to make meals I could theoretically save hundreds per year on not eating out. Using the proper setting (space and time constraints ) seems like a pretty okay product to buy.
I have one of these. One thing I don’t like is that as soon as the food is ready, this thing posts on all my social media accounts a picture of my food and alerts everyone what I’m eating and tags itself. I eat pretty healthy so it’s not a big deal but it’s a little creepy.
🤣
An easy oven results. I’ve not heard of this before.
I'm gonna take a pass. Seems extremely overpriced. I'll spend the $1k on months worth of groceries and keep using my regular stove/oven and the George Foreman grill i already have... I can cook a steak in less than 5 minutes already...
I might get this if I could play GTA 5 on it
This is basically a toaster oven with preset timers
MOMMY CAN I HAVE THIS FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS
They might sell like 2 of those.... Bravo Brava
Actually they sold 3,000 and it's been a year.
That 🥚 look good
Just order take out. You can buy a lot with $1K.
Brava! To my regular oven. No muss no fuss. Just a simple oven.
Lol the future is so crazy 1:16
A toaster oven with computer specs?
If you told me, I wouldn't believe you.
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Great review, Nicole.
I wouldn’t use this. I’d just turn on the regular oven or toaster oven.
Will it play Half Life 2?
Juicero entered the chat
The sound in this video is pretty bad.
is this the apple of ovens?
Alexa, bring me food. What do you mean what kind of food? For that price, dinner should be on the table when I get home and it should know what I want and when.
To complicated for me I like watching it
I can’t understand what she says...?
Hingrid Uehli then you’re not very smart
Only $1000. Too much money. for only $300-$500 you get (in Europe) multi function ovens with much more space and skills.
I miss seeing Nicole Lee on CNET
My computer is frankly already hot enough inside to be an oven.
Why buy this? They are going to just release a newer version in x amount of years and pull the support on it. Your stuck with a tiny dumb halogen oven in the end.
When are they releasing Skyrim on this console?
Interesting and bizarre. I love to cook and this seems exactly like a techy, beefed up Easy Bake (which I loved stealing from my sis when we were kids), so I should love it, but it's not what I want. It's like they took all the best ideas and made opposite turns down the dev road, not wrong, but just different. Like I said, interesting and bizarre
I've seen better panel gaps on Ladas
