I'm a QA with 12 years of experience. But I am mobile tester for the most part. Haven't been involved into the Game Testing yet, but it seems quite interesting.
Gotta tell ya, Game testing is of my interest but for now I've only worked with software QA for mobile and web applications. Do you have any sort of materials that could help me build enough knowledge to at least get an entry level position?
@@fromthewarsawstreets when i was younger i worked 2 years as contractor for disney interactive. They then made me permanent along with an incredible fantastic lucrative $1.48 raise/hr. But you have a point i got a decent medical and 401k packahe too, but they took a decent chunk outta my paycheck, even for that.
@@fromthewarsawstreets I'm thinking about doing QA game testing, so what you're saying is when you start the pay is low but it gets much better as time goes on and you get promotions? If thats the case then, I think that works for me, I dont need a lot of money urgently but I dont want to enter a career that has a low capped pay, if I can have my pay grow as time goes on then that should be all I need. The downside ofc is stability, I hear you get fired easily in this field and the experience probably wont transfer to another field so theres a lot of risk but I think if I can make good money within 5 years, its worth a shot?
@@isea_ Yes, lack of stability is a major part of QA game testing. The bigger companies tend to lay you off after each big title, then re-hire you later once another of their games enters alpha stage BUT... or AND, that same company has the legal right to hire you at your same wage you had before... they can keep you at your same salary forever with each 'new' contract hiring for each new game they want you on (after they hire you back). Getting hired permanent will cancel this nasty cycle, BUT then you will have to perform at a much higher rate and level, the company will expect you maybe to work a salaried position too (which I do not like).
You can do it! Don't use your ADHD as an excuse not to chase your dreams. Maybe you will struggle more than the average person, learning the skills necessary for a job like this, but you can do it. I believe in you 🙂
Great interview
Do you think you have what it takes to be a game QA tester? 😛
Hey man, keep up the good work.
@@dhhh1000 thank you, sir... as you know, we're a team 😛

When getting started with game testing, do you need to know how to do coding, or is that only for the devs?
You don't need to know coding. Good luck getting a job with a good salary without knowing coding though.
Great video
examples of third party QA companies to begin at?
USS, Keywords, Lionbridge, DAQA
QA game testing salaries are really low, not enough to survive on if you want to support your family.
maybe not a job for a family man lol
yes,as a contractor your'e correct. But later is more things going on and salary goes up

How to get opportunity in game tester.? I’m really looking for it please push it up me, thanks.
I HAVE ADHD AND ITS HARD TO EXPLAIN THINGS IN A WAY A PERSON WOULD UNDERSTAND IT. NO EXPERIENCE MEANS NO JOB LIKE EVER .
