    Yeah, the job a quality assurance tester seems to be very tempting for a graduate of applied linguistics. The problem is, as soon as they find out that you have graduated from that kind of studies, you are rejected. Unless you are a young, pretty girl, keen on sucking CEOs' juicy sticks, this makes your chances of getting a job skyrocket.

    So WHO is in charge of oversight? Any developer can follow up on the 20 years of former professional developing and just take a dump on the program, rules, and character development of ALL and make up their own rules? Conveniently refusing to follow free will rules and heavily relying on AI to torture their way into ‘winning’ even if beta test subject actually wins multiple times? Also, how many games and simulations is beta test subject supposed to be in at one time, with NO rest or time (without intrusion) to build themself back up before another breaking down of test subject? My experience is being broken down by age 25 and the game developers totally not noticing they achieved their goal. Instead, subject is being attacked and isolated so the big deal original game will be set up for loss and failure. Cheating test subject out of finally having a period of building up and rest while also adding additional tortures and real world tortures like leukemia etc. My experience was unrealistic, lazy scripting, without developers players programmers actually learning anything - which was the whole point of the first 20 years of developing characters with a ling term goal and plan. To have to cheat the beta test subjects and go into heavy handed controlling, military grade psy ops, tortures, and taking away everyone’s free will at the most important and crucial times points out just how much this experiment failed from the beginning because it was only about the petty gamers and handlers. They had a choice to honor the original work and development of the first 20 years of hard work and ethical practices, but chose to sabatoge the whole thing because someone needed attention and couldn’t tolerate NOT having their way or accepting the truth. The truth was obvious and trying to force test subject into being whatever the ‘gamer’ was trying to force them to be blew up in everyone’s face when disaster could have been avoided if the initial rules and reasons for programming had been heeded and respected in the first place. To take such advantage of someone and come up with rules for them, seeing them win, and STILL using ‘bullying, chaos, or whatever excuse’ should never be allowed and is probably the reason social engineering is ruining culture and boring the shit out of vibrant communities. Choosing the best people and going out of your way to isolate and ruin them only shows who NOT to choose until you can learn how to code a simple script in the first place. My favorite part is disrespecting the test subjects who are actually creative hardworking people- while lazy foolish and ignorant people with bad ideas and NO direction are able to continue causing ‘chaos’ because the nobody explained the whole point of these games or how to understand when and when NOT to pursue someone or some thing just because YOU don’t get it. To force test subject to deal with over 20 years of poor scripts without ever fixing them and then telling them they have to keep playing games while being bored and isolated is total bullshit. Especially after you’ve watched as they reward others who fail and send them on their way. Making the first 20 years of learning a meaningless psy op and giving away all the secrets which nobody except military and athiests or programmers should have to know about because they want to know. To make 20 years of developing a game and sussing out characters into a joke while you learn nothing and force everyone to clean up after you, but refusing to take the poor test subject off these programs because you screw it all up and add more instead of doing less, is the most unprofessional way to handle something like this while trying to turn it into another set of games for your benefit. So you get to deny the real problem and just take care of it because that is YOUR responsibility and def not mine. I am tired of cleaning up and being expected to put order back into any contrived chaoses especially if me playing the Terminator isn’t given any respect or time to reassemble myself. Crippling people before they can even move forward is not a game or a joke. It’s a FAILURE and should be PAUSED if not stopped completely. This is insulting for anyone who has already told you what you can expect from them while you refused to listen and became delirious with your own idea of power and control. Learn the basics, know how to deal with real time verbal adversaries, and if you can’t get past those basics then don’t add more elements to the game while forcing test subject to deal with rules they don’t know about in the middle of dying and handling multiple health emergencies. WHO makes games about mental health issues and cancer? Especially one where main character is now expected to only communicate via text message while they need medical help? WHO came up with the most depressing game ever and tagged a gen X rock n roller who thinks artistically and is being told they now have to be a lawyer? After years of rejecting all of that anyways? AND instead of being happy with said gen Xer for getting a probate lawyer and doing the unemployment thing in a reasonable amount of time, you then decide that she must be promptly put into an immediate situation with even more of the same BS instead of giving it a rest?? That’s 20 straight years of you meddling and getting in your own way, and getting in her way because someone doesn’t realize that they are supposed to be pacing the story line, learning to code conversation, and not forcing anything on anyone because SATAN is their to make suggestions and try to make the subject choose unwisely thus getting them punished or tortured. There is supposed to be an art to it duh. I was supposed to be beta tested for a new game and someone decided to scrap that one and make it all about their own Truman Show ending by trying to make me into a lawyer or activist which I REJECTED that world for 40 years! That’s why the first 20 years of developing with a happy ending are available for the subjects. Because they will have earned it and they’re not cut out for the other crap or would’ve chosen that path intentionally. To continue a game because YOU want someone to get romantically involved with another character is the last kick in the nuts while you STILL insult them with yet another depressing version of isolation and mental illness and death and hanging out with old people or people they have nothing in common with just so YOU have a reason to still be in this person’s life and get to play legal games with someone else’s dad. While running sexual misery programs but only multiple times on the ones you want to sabatoge because God forbid they should be right about who they are attracted to with all the pheromones and decades of being who they are. WHO tried to make a game of changing people when they’re 40 and 50 years old? Why wouldn’t you give em their happy ending thanks for playing you earned it and tag someone else instead? OR be respectful, give em something so they don’t just give up with no reason to live because you took it all away, and then get em to play the finale after they’ve recuperated?? That is way too much taking away without giving anyone respect to participate in their own life story let alone game. Where they win but are told too bad now we’re changing the story to some other make believe situation where you still have to be isolated and we get to have our version of entertainment. I told you many times over 20 years what does NOT motivate me and you STILL chose to make $ a carrot and stick theme as if you characterized me as someone as thug hustling or someone playing the stock market or gambler. I have been very clear about NOT being interested in those things and it makes no sense in this story. I am sorry but someone should have scrapped that or used someone else more appropriate for the multiple themes that can’t be kept track of. All that hard work I put in only to be told it was ‘Hopium’ which is just another excuse. LESS IS MORE

    They don't reproduce the bugs they activately use them to exploit and get ahead in game they don't work...they don't write the articles most games aren't fixed because these game testers of today abuse them before telling the lead about said bug Why do meta build guides youtube videos exist its cuz they found a bug didn't tell no one took their copy home probably and ab7sed that bug and made a false build video to flex rather than reporting it to the lead

    Throwing out such a fine-detailed, overly technical example like "vfx pass" was an awful example lol... there's so many other easier to understand examples that could have been made. Please everyone keep in mind that roles in game-dev along with each of their specific duties can vary considerably depending on things like company size, culture, vision of a higher-up, etc. etc. Interesting to hear how Riot approaches it for some titles though; not suprised they are embracing scrum, etc.

    Hi all... I've been researching this for a few days now becuase I couldnt get a straight answer so I thank you for putting this out here. I have an MBA and certified Project Manager looking to get into this kind of industry. I never understood why the gaming industry specifically leans towards usings QA as a catch all when looking at QC and testing. QA and QC share similiarities but are distinctively different. QA is the overarching program that provides guidelines of processes in Quality for your organization. QA in software development (SQA) effectively looks at processes used to prevent malfunctioning code. QC in software is the actual testing of the code, does the troubleshooting, and fixes it. QAs job would be to review QCs job to ensure processes used is the most effecient method. QA sole purpose is continuous improvement and sustainment of processes. QA vs testing are entirely different. Again QA focuses around process whereas testing is focused on the logistics of the product looking for issues. I would love to see more of this type content as QA/QC is a very interesting topic in the business world and a very impprtant role in Project Management to ensure you are delivering a quality product/service to your stakeholders and customers. Cheers!

      @@fromthewarsawstreets I'm thinking about doing QA game testing, so what you're saying is when you start the pay is low but it gets much better as time goes on and you get promotions? If thats the case then, I think that works for me, I dont need a lot of money urgently but I dont want to enter a career that has a low capped pay, if I can have my pay grow as time goes on then that should be all I need. The downside ofc is stability, I hear you get fired easily in this field and the experience probably wont transfer to another field so theres a lot of risk but I think if I can make good money within 5 years, its worth a shot?

    • @webartist69
      @webartist69 2 роки тому

      @@isea_ Yes, lack of stability is a major part of QA game testing. The bigger companies tend to lay you off after each big title, then re-hire you later once another of their games enters alpha stage BUT... or AND, that same company has the legal right to hire you at your same wage you had before... they can keep you at your same salary forever with each 'new' contract hiring for each new game they want you on (after they hire you back). Getting hired permanent will cancel this nasty cycle, BUT then you will have to perform at a much higher rate and level, the company will expect you maybe to work a salaried position too (which I do not like).

    I'm late with this, but if it's safe for people to protest in person (and protest by the tens of thousands in every place in the country) during Covid, then it's safe to go to school and learn in person during Covid. Unless a ton of teachers and students are out with Covid, there's no reason to not have in-person learning. You can't push virtual learning/worship/work and defend/justify people protesting in masse. Have people mask up and come to school. Not all people who support virtual learning were okay with massive tons of people protesting, but if you had no issue with tons of people protesting, you probably pushed virtual learning and lockdowns.

    I'm just 15 I'll love to be a video game creator I can't draw but I have a lot great ideas about games and storylines for games and how the characters of the game could look like

      Not all the game creator has to draw, the industry is big enough, don't be discourage :)

      When talent doesn't work hard, hard work trump's talent. You might not draw well at 15, but if you try and you persist, when you're 25, you'll know how to draw. Keep making games regardless of your opinions over yourself and let your work speak for your capabilities. Don't ever let your capabilities dictate your work.
