Vs an S&P 500 index fund, for example? Not even close, mate. The watch is NOT a good investment.
@@TomokoMurakami it’s not an investment at all really. Markets are super not very liquid at the moment, you pay for commissions, insurance, possible damages after long terms storage etc.
@@LarsRR Some, but very few, watches are good investments but most people fool themselves into thinking they will make money on a watch. You should simply enjoy your watch for its beauty and utility but if you want an investment, put your money in a low cost index fund and forget about it for 30 years.
Diamond between the lugs
I think some characteristics of a watch are incompatible with some aspects of a movement. For example, I believe a screwed in crown is incompatible with a manual wind movement. In this case, I think a perpetual calendar is incompatible with a manual wind movement.
That makes sense, I feel like manual wind is intended for more occasional use and needing to reset a perpetual all the time sort of defeats the purpose

I just don't see the supreme quality as compared to Breguet. Spring bars, no advanced hand finishing on the case, no hand finishing on the dial, no blued anything. It just looks like a mass produced watch with mirror polished edges.
I look at Lange's annual and perpetual calendars and Patek feels like a step down
@@SuperMrgentleman I agree. I bought the Grand Lange 1 last year at the NYC boutique and it's so beautiful.
No doubt about super quality of this kind of watch,but at this price i prefere more iconic model like nautilus,just my point of view
Any watch with a round aperture on the dial is a deal breaker.
