I'd argue that the album that kicked them off was Music For The Jilted Generation. Voodoo People, featured in one of the biggest films of the time, Hackers (featuring a very young Angelina Jolie btw). No Good (Start The Dance), huge hit (here in the UK at least). Poison, I was too young to go to the clubs (Like 10 years old lol, I'm tall but not that tall, it'd be another 4 years before I looked old enough (5'11, 6'1 now)), however I remember this all over the pirate radio station, saved up for the album for this track alone lol. Just for those three alone, The Prodigy went from underground gems (I remember Charly, Everybody In The Place and Fire when I was 7/8) to major players. Jilted Generation built the foundation upon which Fat Of The Land stood.
My favourite Prodigy song. Been listening to it since 1997 when I was in high school (secondary school). The outro breakbeat + that pulsating sound in the background still gives me goosebumps. So good. I'd recommend checking out the live version from Brixton Academy in 1997. Best live version in my opinion.
I'm a Prodigy fan myself... Ever seen them live? I did, once... What's your favorite album? Do you like the most recent ones? Jeez, I have so many questions.... Not everyday u find someone that knows them..... And ps: there's also Narayaan on this album....
For those of you who don't realize it... The opening beat represents your heartbeat, all the additional sounds the energy coursing through your body, and how external sounds affects the brain waves sent through the body..
I love this banging beats and lyrics talk about Vietnam Fuck ya I know about shell shock ! My picture here Vietnam at 19yrs young man hell ya! Oh Matrix was 1999 !!
You have to listen to their latest album that came out in 2018. Just a few months before Keith committed suicide rest in piece man. Liam is in the studios making a new album the first one since Keith's death in March 2019. It'll be interesting to see. Live forever..... You should listen to Firestarter the first song with Keith on vocals. Listen to the words. Keith is the firestarter twisted firestarter. In this single he's the firestarter and instigater he gets the crowd going pumped up and full of energy. His style is a lot like 1970s punk music in UK. Liam Howlett is a genius. What he can do with music is something else. Liam named The prodigy after a 1980s sinthisizer that he used. Thanks man for this review. I could see you were loving the energy.
You probably know that The Prodigy did 2 remixes of Religion by Front 242. In case you haven't heard those though, the Trance U Down mix is especially worth listening to.
The Fat Of The Land's an era defining album. My metal and rock friends love it, as well as my hip hop friends. Hell my mom loved this album!

Witnessed this live at Glastonbury 97. One of the best nights of my life...
I sooo remember this dearly back in the day, one of the best
This whole album was brilliant and it takes me back to such a good time, the 90’s were the best time to grow up.
“The Matrix” came out in 1999-Fat of the Land was released in ‘96.
Actually the Fat of the land was released in 97
1997🫡
I could definitely see myself doing yard work to this beat. Seriously, thanks for introducing me to some new music. I'll check out their other music.

Should’ve been a single- they switched to breathe last minute. Mindfield promos are still floating around.

Отличный выбор трека.
2 more recent bands/artists for you to consider, that are similar to The Prodigy - Pendulum and Nero.
Fat of the land es el mejor album de todos los tiempos.
En su genero si, pero hay otros generos
