They need umbrella shades for that food line. They have to figure out how to mitigate the flies. It would be difficult but they may need to screen in those massive seating areas.
I’ve watched a lot of Videos about Lookout Cay. Here is what I think they need to improve the island. No particular order. 1. Bike carriages ran by the locals overseen by Disney from the ship to the island. That would be great money for locals. 2. Get the flies under control. 3. Some form of shade over the pier like they have with Perfect Day Coco Cay. 4. Have several water swings to use just a short walk into the water. 5. A walk/swim up water bar tiki area. 6. A pier that can take you out onto the water on the main east side of the island. Maybe even one with a clear glass floor to see any coral or sea life. Make it wheelchair accessible too. 7. Water spray misters along the board walk.
The water and sand look beautiful. I don’t think I would eat the food considering all the flies. I’m surprised they are even serving food until they get that problem under control.
Awesome preview! I hope to go in the next couple of years. With this being the inaugural sailing, I wonder if there is a higher percentage of adults on that sailing than on a “normal” Disney Cruise itinerary. Did it seem that way? That could explain why Serenity Bay was crowded…
It looked like on that south end of the beach some people just carried some chairs to the edge of the water👍🏼 hope that’s ok cause that’s my go to beach position. They really messed up not putting adult area where family cabanas are at🤦🏻♀️ I go to the beach to relax and I don’t see that that’s what Disney gave us here🤷🏻♀️ castaway cay will be my priority destination and never just lookout cay🪰 unless they address walk, lack of shade, seating on the beach not behind a dune, flies, seating at serenity bay for bbq, tram all the way to Serenity bay, another shop…maybe near Serenity bay .
Most of that would require more work than they will do right now. We actually liked it better than Castaway in many respects. Will do a comparison video soon
My issue with the walk is for 3-6 year olds we bring a stroller for Disney world. But there’s not usually a need for a stroller on a Disney cruise. But that’s quite a walk for little legs, and yet not really worth trucking a whole stroller along for
Yeah I get that. WDW is a lot more walking than half a mile though. Once you’re on the main part of the island, it’s pretty short distances to everything.
Do they stamp your passport? They stopped doing that at castaway right before we took our first cruise- kids were sad but they’re older now 😂 just wondering
The walk would not bother me if I could bring my double stroller for my 2 toddlers. I usually just bring one popup for my now 1 year old (she has cruises at 8 & 11 months) and my 3 yo is fine w/o a stroller on the ship but that walk…. There is no room to bring a double stroller. We are set to go in December ‘24 on the dream & again on the magic in May ‘25. I hope they figure out something for young children by then.
After you walk the pier, they do have strollers and wagons available for the little ones at the Goons tram stop. Complimentary. First come. First Serve.
Yeah, that’s a shame. The flies weren’t as bad by the third day. They’ll get that under control soon. They actually seem to have more shade than Castaway does, even with the young foliage. I wouldn’t write it off totally just yet.
Why are so many beach chairs behind the dunes and not on the beach. you can barely see the water. If you go get in the water you can't look back and check on your stuff? Shame you have to "rope drop" just to get a chair on the beach.
My guess is they haven’t put them all out OR they don’t have the manpower to pull them out every day. Not sure if it being a public beach has an impact on the chairs down there.
Leslie chanting during the performance is so adorable, I love her enthusiasm on every cruise
Great video! We loved Lookout Cay and will return. The water is magnificent! Awesome to meet you on this cruise.
Us too!
They need umbrella shades for that food line. They have to figure out how to mitigate the flies. It would be difficult but they may need to screen in those massive seating areas.
Flies weren’t nearly as bad by the third day
Seems like long walk from food to seating…looks like you walk into a big uncovered public square?
@@suziequeue2 not too long, the drink and ice cream stations are in that open area

Nice island, but I would definitely take Perfect Day at CocoCay over this. Love your videos, by the way.
They need to net off the eating areas, need smaller type Cabanas on the beach. Need larger bars and larger store.

Happy belated 90th bday to number 1 !
Hello! Are there any lockers available near the family beach side?
No lockers that we saw
@@AddictedtotheMouse Thanks!
Looks amazing!! 😊

So glad y’all love it! I can’t wait to book this cruise soon. Lookout Cay looks beautiful!

Having to pay a $1000 dollars for one of those Cabanas is an outrage.
I’ll be interested to see how many get off the ship on 2nd stop…hearing most skipped it?
Fewer for sure. Don’t know about most though
No mention of the fly situation. Must of dealt with it.
I appreciate your pointing out the walk on the pier is no worse that walking the same distances at various points at WDW.
Looks like they could have more chairs.
This place looks amazing. Such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.😊
Was this for the 7 day inaugural cruise? We are set to sail there on our 10 day cruise next month and worried from all the videos I’ve seen 😅
Yes, it was amazing!
Do they stamp your passport? They stopped doing that at castaway right before we took our first cruise- kids were sad but they’re older now 😂 just wondering
No
my friend passed out on the walkway
I would definitely recommend that anyone who can’t navigate a half mile or longer in the heat request the golf cart provided by Disney

50.00 Disney cruise line water bottle has to be corksical and they are worth the money.
What a shame to see this public, beautiful and sacred place be transformed into a private Disney Resort.
Looks way, way too hot with not enough shade. Flies are unacceptable swarming the food. Looks like a bust to me and I am huge fan of DCL.

Beautiful but will not go there soon until some stuff will be improved
People looking for a reason to complain. Maybe mention there is security at the entrance.
Too much walking for mw
