In this video we look at a fantastic way of toning very stripey highlights down to be really soft and beautiful I really like creating stripes and then turning down melting them away to give really strong definition and contrast creating creating wonderful text My blond hair colours.
I think creating stripey highlights is something that a lot of stylist avoid because of the somewhat negative connotations that striped have But for me I definitely think they have a place when we are being creative.

Terrific job! I can definitely see how the toner saved her hair from looking super striped and still is super bright! Great job! Currently my hair is a disaster! I tried to go back brunette but…didn’t fill the pigments well enough so it looks really dull like

I like using the top tooth of the comb to section I find it more accurate the tail is too fiddly for me

New subscriber here🙋♀️♥️.....I just got my hair done last week for the second time, first time ever was 6 months ago. This past weekend I went to a new hairdresser and she just added baby lights to the root area but she also lifted my natural level 4 base to a level 5-6 and it just looks very coppery😩🥺...is that normal? I wanted a light brown color not copper brow😞....she also did not add toner to my hilights ..she just bleached my hair and added the dye right after. Do you think I need a toner? Or toners are not necessary? My hilights are about a level 7-9. Please let me know that way I can know if my hair dresser is doing a good job or if I should go with someone else🙏.
Hi thanks for your question sorry to hear that you had not such a great experience at your last hair appointment it’s hard for me to come in obviously because I can’t see it but I would probably go as far to say as that the roof area that has been lifted to the copper colour is now going to need toning down time does sometimes unnecessarily but not all the time it just depends on what colour that the highlights have lifted up to and whether you need to get rid of the warmth. But as I say it’s very hard for me to comment without being out to see it but it sounds like to me that there is a reasonable amount of corrective work needing to be done on your hair my advice is to go back to the stylist and explain how you feel about it and if you don’t have any joy with her and you may need to find a new starter starter house all the best James
