The details on the driver and cockpit are amazing
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Got to say. Love the Sepultura tee shirt.
Thanks Russ! This one is wearing pretty thin, time for a new one I think. 👍
So many buggies so little time . I really like the color combination and those aluminum Avante wheels are perfect for the VQS.Glad to see you back and getting over that nasty cold .
That's right, maybe I should stay away from the BUY button 😂. Thanks mate, I think the theme works quite well. I'm almost back to "normal" now lol, should be 100% next week I think. Thanks Eric! 👍
Wow mate she's a stunner your painting skills are unbelievable, that cockpit is almost a model on its own👌🇬🇧
Thanks Carl! 🙂👍
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for another great video! 👍
Thanks Terence! 🙂👍
Hi Mick, she just turned out awesome 🤩 Great video, too. Hope you get well soon 🤞Cheers, Bengt
G'day Bengt! Thanks mate, I'm glad you like how it turned out and enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for the Avante decals, it really helped me out! Cheers mate. 🙂👍
Looks fantastic! Great paintjob! 👍🙂 thank you for sharing!
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
Great colour, came out very well. 👍🏼
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Nice !! Really very good custom work, the result is perfect. Beautiful Tamiya 👏
Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks buddy! 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed 😉👍
Good to see you back. Hope you recover well.
Thanks Matt! I'm almost over it now, should be 100% by next week I think... Well 100% for me at least. 😂👍
I was beginning to get worried, Mick. Good to see you back 👍🏻
Sorry mate, I should have put a community post up I guess 😬. Anyway, I'm still alive and kicking lol. Thanks Jefferson! 🙂👍
Wow! That turned out great!😍🙌
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
I love the colour, really, really ace. I'm not a fan of line tape but it totally works that way you've done it. I think the wing would benefit from the same treatment. Top job and get well soon!
Thanks mate. I not a huge fan of the tape either, I think because sometimes people tend to go overboard with it. Cheers mate! 👍
I can’t remember a better looking vanquish you made this a stunner! I was starting to get a little worried brother glad you’re back at it 👍👍👍
Thanks Wade, glad you like it mate. Never fear mate, I'm never far away 😁.
I've been checking out some of your videos while I was under the weather. Great collection of vintage beasts you have there! 👌👍
Ripper mate! Love it!
Thanks Craig! 👍
Stunning Mick 👍 be sure to share video in our group 😉
Thanks Jenny! Will do, thanks 🙂👍
Turned out real nice, i agree on the wing just leave it clear.
Thanks Mattias! I had a couple of suggestions about the wing, maybe gold, maybe black but I think it will just remain clear in the end 😁👍
Hey Mick,
Holy smokes! What a looker. Awesome job my friend. I am using ps52 along with translucent pink/gold for my new built optima mid custom special. Nice color.
G'day Keith! Thank mate, glad you like it. The champagne gold will look great with the translucent pink/gold. I painted a Skyline body many years ago using those colours, still one of my favourite paint jobs to this day. Looks awesome in the sun with the colour shifting. Will look awesome on the Optima Mid Custom Special! 😍👍
Great, Mick! I actually just checked your channel the other day to see if I missed something, but good to hear there was a reason... Now, if the flu ever goes away, go drive some RC cars!
Very cool result on this one! I really admire the work on the driver figure, I couldn't do that... And I love that Champagne Gold, it looks great! I just painted a car similar, but I used a poor man's version, I had mixed gold and silver, ha ha!
Regarding the Sepultura joke... I think I'm Max'ed out this time...
Thanks Mads! Sorry for my absence mate, every video I had planned was going to be lengthy and I just never got around to any of them then after getting sick I just gave up lol. I'm still hangin to get that Inferno out there! 😍
Thanks mate. I'm sure you could do it mate, I can tell your skills are growing all the time. I'm still learning and trying different things all the time too. I don't think we ever run out of new things to learn. Haha, I've made the poor man's gold plenty of time mate. A lot of the time I find the only way to get the colour you want is to mix your own. Your latest paint job looks great, nice fading and stuff, great work!
Lol Max'ed out, nice one. Max would love it! 😂
Cheers mate 👍
The buggy looks great and good seeing you back on here, it has been too long! Those pesky jobs and them wanting you to keep showing up and doing stuff is a real pain sometimes!! LOL!! I am glad you are feeling better, being down with the flu is never a good time, you got time to do hobby stuff just don't have any energy or motivation to do any of it, been there! I like the clear wing on it bit if I were going to paint it I would probably go with black or maybe even the silver to set it off from the rest of the body and pick up accents from the rest of the build. But the clear looks good and racey!
Thanks Addam! Haha yeah, jobs are the worst invention ever lol. Thanks mate, I think I'll be fully recovered in a couple more days. I just still have a cough is about all. Oh yeah I hear ya, I thought I'd get onto some builds while I'm away from work but with the sneezing, coughs and headaches I just couldn't be bothered with it. I think the clear wing works too. It's actually pretty convenient as the wings on these don't last long anyway with a couple of roll overs. I've watched a few of your videos while I've not been doing much. You're doing great things over there on your channel, keep it up mate! 👍
She's a bit of a stunner Mick 😎💪👌🔥🔥🔥 great work as always . Sepultura T-shirt i see there Mick ? Get well soon..app the video
Thanks mate! Correct, Sepultura T-shirt! 😁🤘. Thanks, getting better but still barking like a dog lol. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
cool build,looks awesome
Thanks Duke, glad you like it mate. Hope you are doing well! 👍
Heya Mick, great choice for the colour scheme & to replace the driver figure. Thoroughly enjoyed all the videos on your custom VQS. Hope to see you posting videos again soon.
Wow! That's a sexy looking buggy! I Don't say this very often but loads better then boxart! Haha stunning! Great to see ya back and getting better plus a new job👍
Thanks James, glad you like it mate! Haha yeah, I wanted to go far away from box art with this one. It was a real head scratcher though, as you know Tamiya are usually spot on with the box art choices. Thanks mate, I think I'll be OK next week and can go back to work again. 👍
@@RCHobbyShed 👍🤩
Very sweet Mic!!!!!
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Awesome looking body shell with a killer paint finish. I was beginning to think that you were going for a Darth Vader look 👀 with the driver figure lol 😂
Thanks Mikey! Haha, I was kind of wanting him to look a little sinister but maybe not that sinister 😂👍
Looks superb especially with the avante driver. Fills the cockpit much better. Nice mod on the body. Must try that on mine. 😉
Thanks mate, glad it gave you some ideas. 🙂👍
Welcome back Mick 😍
Thanks Jason! 🙂👍
Looks great! The wheels are very nice. I need to decal mine. Too many to do.
Looks amazing. Nice work.
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Looks awesome, great job
Thanks Rolf! 🙂👍
Hey Mick, really enjoyed this video, that gold color is amazing! I’m gonna try it for an upcoming kyosho body. For me, a metallic black on the wing would really set this off! Thanks for all your efforts on the vids mate, Jer
G'day Jeremy! I think it's a great colour and will look awesome on a Kyosho body. Yeah I think metallic black would look great on the wing! Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂👍
I'm lost for words Mick, that turned out sensational mate👌. I remember when you bought the alloy rims for it.
I picked up a few tricks to help with our Neo Fighter build too. The way you used the flat black then Semi gloss for highlights on the driver looks nice.
The whole build turned out perfect.
Welcome back mate! We've missed your video's. I hope you fully recover soon.
Thanks for sharing your video Mick👍🦘🇦🇺
I'm glad you like it mate! Oh yeah, seems like it was ages ago when I first bought them lol.
It's always good to know others can pick up tips/ideas along the way in my videos.
Thanks mate, happy to be back. I think I'll be over this flu by next week. I'll be trying to get at least one video out per week.
No probs at all mate, glad you enjoyed it! 🙂👍

I pretty much always learn something new from watching your vids Mick, Thankyou👍
Always looking out for your video's mate 👍🍻
@@outbackrcaustralia4895 Thanks mate, thanks for the great feedback!
Hoping to get another video out in a couple of days. Dunno what though, maybe I'll take something out and break it. 🤣👍
@@RCHobbyShed You can do a how to fix a busted rc video 😁 Mick Talbot 😂
@@outbackrcaustralia4895 Lol, most of my resto video are exactly that, fixing busted RC's... but without all sugar high's and screaming 😂🤣
Love it!
Thanks Richard! 🙂👍
Great job man. Love the detailing. I think the wing should be painted to match but my opinion means squat. If you like it that’s the way it should be done.
Thanks Chris. I can go either way with the wing really. I do like painted wings but I also like clear wings. I guess I'll spend some time staring at it and decide 😁👍
Awesome mate as usual 👍
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Yeh that looks awesome 🤩
Thanks Neil! 🙂👍
Nice one Mickster. Hope you are feeling better
Thanks mate! I'm at about 90% now, should be all good in a day or two, thanks. 🙂👍
Looks great Mick! Thanks for showing how you created the window masks! Very cool 😎
Thanks mate! No probs at all, I'm glad you got something from the video.
I just hope you cut your masks neater than I did though. I could barely see what I was doing while holding the body in front of the camera. So one side was very wavy 😂. Cheers mate 👍
Great job man!
Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Hi Mick, glad you’re on the road to recovery. The VQS turned out to be a real head turner! The gold and silver colour theme looks beautiful. It’ll be shame to take it out and get it dirty! Still, it’s got wheels and a motor, time to christen it! Have fun with it! Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😉😁😊🇬🇧
G'day John! Thanks mate, I'm almost over it I think. Thanks John, I think this theme works well on the VQS. I'm thinking this one might get a run on grass as I'm worried about scratching up those sexy Pargu wheels lol. Thank mate, same to you and you family. 🙂👍
Awesome build! Great color scheme! The clear wing fits perfectly in my opinion.
Stay safe my friend and thank you for the great content on your channel!
Cheers from Germany 😊
Thanks Christian! I think the clear wing works well too.
Will do mate, and I'm glad you enjoy my videos. Cheers mate! 🙂👍
And he’s Back!!! Absolute Quality, loving your work my man, brilliant episode the format is great to show the work and save your voice hehe, hope you not too siiick for long 😂 wicked!! The driver looks sweet, just lovely dude 🤩
G'day mate! Yeah I'm back, well I was always here but just lurking in the shadows 😂. Thanks, I'm glad you like it and enjoyed the video. I'm almost over the siiickness 😂 now and the voice is much better. Thanks, cheers mate! 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed great to hear it mate, thanks for the reply, I finished the Wild Willy2 but I’ve gone back to Spain for a bit needed some sun and sea might have to get something for out here, any recommendations for beach RC’s🏖great to have you back, missed ya buddy 👍
@@sustorres765 Oh nice, love the Wild Willy jeeps, all over them! I must do the paint job on my WW2 one day, I only built it 22 years ago! 🤣
Good stuff, fun in the sun is always good. For running on the beach, I'd say any car with big wheels and loads of power will be fun. Keep in mind each beach runs will probably mean a full tear down and clean each time as that sand gets into everything and the salt water is pure evil.
For a bit of cheap fun that is easy to work on, I think I'd go for a Tamiya Mad Bull with a brushless motor in it. The only issue with them is the hex adapters, the splines chew out pretty quick so have a good stock of them! But a brushless Mad Bull on the sand will be SIIICK!!! 😂
Thanks mate, great to be back. It's people like you that make it all worth while! 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed thanks so much dude, will have a look for a rc shop 👍 22 years for a paint job 😂😂 better be good! 😂
Loving your work dude🤩 siiiick!!! 😂
@@sustorres765 No probs mate, hope you find something for the beach. Haha yeah, I've had 22 years to plan it. I actually ran it back in 2000 when I built it and my dog used to chase it... and sometime catch it and run off with it 😂. So it kinda has that sentimental thing about it, which is why I've never rushed to paint it but I will get it done one day.
Thanks mate! 😁👍
Excellent attention to detail, personally, I prefer the wing to be painted, it looks half finished. It is still a nice buggy though.
Thanks! I know what you mean about the wing, I'm still not 100% decided. Maybe I will paint it at some stage. Cheers mate! 👍
Great to see you again! Congrats on the new job and that’s a stunning looking VQS mate!!!
Thanks Owen. I can never stay away for too long lol. Thanks mate, the job will certainly help me buy more RC's 😂. 😁👍
Mick Yes This Flu is Terrible i just got over the Covid myself , anyhow the VQS looks Awesome bud i love it and that wing being clear also is nice definitely a custom job well done , hope you get well real soon so you can get some run time inn, cheers bud:-)
Yeah it's not real good, so far I've been lucky enough to dodge Covid but I guess it will be my turn soon enough. Thanks Andrew, the weather is slowly getting better too so will be able to get out for runs more often. Cheers mate! 👍
You're a bit good at that painting lark Mick. Not tried tamiya xf etc through airbrush. Need to learn . I hope I can find that Kyosho tape here in the UK. Would finish my scorcher paintwork nicely.
Car came out stunning fella. Very nice indeed 👌 . Mick, life and health come before anything else fella. Get well soon and all the best in new job
Thanks David, I still have a lot to learn though. The Tamiya Acrylic paints work quite nicely with the airbrush, I usually thin them with a bit of Tamiya lacquer thinner. I was lucky to find the Kyosho tape, it's getting quite hard to find these days. Hope you can find some!
Thanks mate, I'm pretty happy with it the way it turned out. That's right, life and health has to come first. I'm still barking like a dog and the voice comes and goes but I think I'll be 100% next week 🤞. Cheers mate! 👍
@@RCHobbyShed hi Mick. Cheers for the advice on tamiya paints through airbrush. Guessing it's like other paint, you want the consistency of milk ? Will look into having a crack . Found tape on that well known auction site👍 in stock too. Keep up the cool work and vids . Just watched you rough rider vids as I have one finally coming. Glad you are on the mend. Cheers Dave
@@davidhiscock1969 Hi Dave. No probs mate. Yeah that's right, the consistency of milk is the way. Awesome, you found the tape!
Thanks mate, will do. Oh nice, the Rough Rider is such a cool vintage buggy, enjoy! Cheers mate. 👍
@@RCHobbyShed hi Mick . Many thanks on the tips . Have enjoyed building the srb chassis on the scorchers I am 3/4 the way through . The rough rider will sit nicely with them. Take care my friend and looking forward to your next vid 👍
Very good looking VQS!! R we going to get a running video? And also glad to see u back. Hope u get to heeling better
Thanks Brian! Hoping to get it out soon for a run, all depends on the weather. Thanks, I'm pretty much over it now. 👍
Hey Mick, I am stuck deciding between a VQS and the Kyosho Javelin. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on if you could only have one which you would go for?
G'day Craig. I do like the VQS but I'm gonna say Javelin all the way! I think the Javelin is just better quality overall. Handling wise I think they're pretty close but I feel the Javelin might have the edge over the VQS. So if it was me, I'd go for the Javelin. Hope this helps! 👍
@@RCHobbyShed you are a legend mate! Thanks for replying. Mark Bryan and I were chatting through your VQS build and it reminded me I want one 😂 But the price is so close to the Javelin which I love the look of more. It is all down to which one will be best for the backyard track in the coming seasons. Sounds like it would be a pretty close draw!
@@theoagrc Thanks mate, Mark is a great guy. I really think both would be great on your track. The main difference is when you're building the Javelin, you're really gonna see (and feel) the difference in quality and you'll know you made the right decision... That said, if you can afford both then do it! 🤣👍
