- In this episode we complete the build and go over what turned out to be one of my favorite tamiya builds to date.
If you’re thinking of getting this buggy, or are unsure, just get it. It’s a nice upper level tamiya build that provides a great build experience and insight into Tamiya’s higher end buggies.

That's the same driver in the Avante!
Haha yes it is. And about the only Avante part that is affordable 🤣. It so much better than the chopped off arms driver that comes with the VQS.. Worthwhile upgrade imo 👍
That's looking good! I suggest a high torque servo saver, because that steering system is heavy duty. the stock servo saver is kind of weak.
Appreciated mate. Agreed on the servo saver. Think it’s the only thing lacking.. Steering is super direct, definitely one of the better. Thanks for the recommendation and for watching 👍
I know exactly what you mean about feeling a little let down when you are done with a kit. I have a Tamiya Avante kit that I still have not built for that very reason (I know it is a little silly). I really wish that I had gotten an Avante driver for my VQS, yours looks great, I may have to replace the one I have (the stock one which really does look inadequate). By the way, I found that Testors aluminum paint matches the color of the silver decals and I used it to paint the black screw head holding the driver in place. I am going to have to steal your ideas about securing the body to the chassis, it really does rattle around without it. I look forward to your next build, I just found your channel so I will have to go back and look at some of your previous builds.
I appreciate you! Yeah it’s a bitter sorrow when completing these kits. And as far as you holding off on building your Avante, I’m doing the same thing with my Kyosho Tomahawk. It’s one of my favorite all time RC kits. The swap over to the Avante driver in the VQS is a fairly simple one and definitely worth while. Changes the whole look of the buggy. And yes, steal my idea for securing the body haha. Definitely something that’s needed. Thanks for watching mate!
