@Analog Insights .. I've been lucky enough to win a Leica M6 Titanium body via an online competition, and have bought a Voightlander 35mm lens as my first prime. I wish to protect my M6, but think the cost of the Oberworth case is too much and some of that money could be used towards film and processing. I have found another brand for the time being, but cannot make my mind up about colour and stitching colour and I was thinking either black with red stitching or an antique brown ... What does the man of style say at Analog Insights say ?
As mentioned in the video, it really depends on your use case. When shooting an editorial, I would leave the half-case off. But for keeping one roll of film in the M6 for a week or two, it is no trouble at all. :)
Unpopular opinion: all these half-cases are the perfect way for ruining the ergonomics of any camera. Never liked these contraptions, no matter how luxury/well-crafted they were.
Unpopular opinions are always welcome. I certainly understand where you're coming from. In this particular case, the ergnomics really don't suffer from it. The camera handles exactly the same, it just feels nicer in the right hand.
With this video, I feel I have to buy something to protect that half-case as well.
Haha, good one. :)
Again a good video, especially the half case with red stitching!!
Another very good video about the superb Oberwerth leather products. 👍

A great half case, I use a similar one für M10 Monochrom, it fits perfect
changing rolls must be a wonder !!! XD

Where did you get that Leitz red dot? Gorgeous.
It came with it. This is the original one from the period.
Superb, much like the Leica itself. 📷
Another awesome video max!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Make sure you rub leather conditioner into the case regularly. That way, it'll last as long as the camera does.
…and water-based spermicidal lubricant too.
Nice! can we use it on a Leica MP ?
Yes, but what protects the plastic parts and the zinc from rot?
2:46 snuggles! ♥️🥺
Haha, yes for lack of a better word. I am obviously not a native speaker of English. :)
@@AnalogInsights no it was perfect! It's one of those moments where you landed on a much better word and I really loved it. ♥️
S, I will and I need to make a case for my M6 black painting...
Wow, just 249 EUR...but compared to the M6, a 1/10 of the Camera Price. I would love to own a Leica first, someday ;)
Anybody know where I can get a half case for a Om-1 my camera lugs are loose and I don’t trust them. :(
Why are you asking the comment thread of a YT video? Don't you know how to use Google?
@@autodidact537 I have Googled but all I've seen are half cases that don't have straps. Mostly photographers here so I am trying my luck.
I went with Arte di mano
no drop test? disappointing ;)
Haha, good one. :)
I don't think the stitching looks particularly great though? Certainly at this price point
At this price point the case should include the person who stitched it. They can work as your butler for 2 weeks.
Of course we know any photojournalist or combat photographer would never use a half case. Takes too long to change film when bullets are flying.
Am I first in something? :)
Congrats, haha. :)
The price compared to artisan & artist is ridiculous
Beautiful case but at that price it better come with Scarlett Johansen too lol.

@Saxon Eyles, IMO, cases don't improve anything at all.
Not impressed until they make one for Barnack Leica's.
...absolutely no need to go around looking like a successful dentist. I recommend Leica's 14870.
Crazy how we still use dead animals to "protect" a piece of brass.
