Hi, excellent film photos truly showing the magic of Leica lenses. Good job! 👍
I appreciate your honest and accurate reflections on photography.
Dream camera for sure
I have also a Leica MP. Like my camera! Greetings from Germany
ABSOLUTELY CRACKING ACCOUNT of the Leica. Kudos. I first used a Leica yesterday, and all that you say resonates with me.
My favorite camera of all time is my Hasselblad 501cm, and I am seriously considering an M6 or an MP to have a 35mm option. This was a great video, and is making me lean more towards it!
Great presentation, Alex. Btw, nice guns bro.
Hell Yeah. got to see it today. Looks so beautiful and dig that grip. Pictures from Europe are incredible.
I’ve been saying the same thing for years! My MP has never missed an exposure. I use a M (Type 240, Q2, SL2 for digital work but the old MP is my happy place!
Liked the video as soon as I saw the silver chrome camera body.
I have two M-A (silver and black) and love both. Silver though is just class.
PS: I sold my first Leica MP many years ago. It was a black paint ;)
Love the silver, but man the bp MP is stunning once it starts to brass.
I’m running MP for a year which I bought new. From experience perspective I couldn’t agree more, same emotions and perceiving.
Great video. Thanks
Like to add to the Leica experience with a Leica MD 262. I shoot both film, Nikon F2, and digital, Leica MD 262, and even though the MD is digital the way it mimics a film camera is amazing. This experience makes the Leica my favorite even though I love the look of film...!
Definitely my endgame camera!
I couldn't agree with you more, Alex! I own a Leica M6 (2022 Reissue) which shares most of the specs of the MP and I absolutely adore shooting with it. It's currently my favorite camera in my kit. It feels just natural to shoot with. Unlike my digital cameras, I find film photography to so much more creatively frictionless. Sometimes I wonder if I should just sell my digital M body and just buy an MP so that I can have two film bodies with different focal ranges or film stocks while traveling.
My only gripe with the M6 is that I like the film advance lever on the MP better and have considered selling the M6 for the MP, but at the same time I like having the classic body as well, so maybe I may just go all analog on the Leica M, since I have the SL2-S and Q3. Anyways...again...loving the film journey as well, man!
Always digging your videos...
Feeling the same way! For some reason I connect more with the film M bodies than I do with the digital.
@@ABarrera Let me ask you something. As far as digital Leica’s are concerned do you find you connect more with the SL2-S than the M11 especially when using it with Leica M glass? I’m starting to feel that way. Film M for M series and SL series with M glass for digital. Thoughts?
Yep, once you tried out a M camera either it clicks for you or not. If the first happens you will enjoy that camera till the end of time - your forever camera. You are not that fixated on technicalities to take the photo and not relying on all the assists of a modern digital camera is quite a change doing photography.
After more than a 4 hour hike on Madeira Island I was at the top of highest mountain Pico Ruivo. Shortly when I arrived the top out of nowhere a loud shout out was heard by everyone with the words "Nice Leica!" while I had my M camera in my hands, not really showing it, just holding it in my both hands in front of my solar plexus and covered by my hands while I was looking for the best perspectives on the surrounding mountains to take photos of. This was the funniest moment I have ever experienced since I own that particular M for almost one year. Otherwise people are interested and say you are holding a nice vintage camera. When you encounter other Leica owners in Europe's streets you get a friendly nod, a thumbs up or a "Nice camera" with a wink from them while they are holding their Leica camera in their hands.
Oh and more mp videos!
🎯💯👍
Hi Alex, these are amazing film pictures. Did you make any edit on lightroom after they are scanned?
Yes, minor exposure and WB tweaks.
Hi love the looks of your shot. Which film stock do you use? If I have to take a guess looks like Portra 400?
Portra 400
@@ABarrera thanks for the reply. Looking forward to see more of your works 🤝🏽

Nice! What lenses on the mp did you primarily use to photograph Italy?
I only used the new 35mm Summilux Close Focus

I’m interested in a review of the Steel Rim Summilux I see you have on there
It’s already uploaded, feel free to check it out on the channel.
Great photos! What lenses did you use?
All those images were with the 35mm Summilux CF
I agree wholeheartedly…. That’s why i have 2 MPs!
I ❤ my Leica MP.
Hi, May I ask a qustion please ? do you handcheck your film at airport ? thanks.
Yes! For the most part it’s never a problem.
Serious some of the best photos out of you
Alex, Do you scan your own film? Or do you send it to a lab? If so which lab?
I use Bellows Film Lab in Miami
People either think my Leicas are film or a Fujifilm camera haha. Oddly enough, I’ve had more people ask if my Fujifilm X100V is a Leica 😂
I kid you not, I get asked if it’s a Fuji every single time 😂
But if you want a leica film camera now m6 is better than mp right?
I believe they are 99% the same internally. Only difference is the design
M-A is better, pure mechanical, no electronics and no plastic. (ISO dial is plastic in MP and pure metal in M-A), for example.
I need the light meter so the M-A is out of the picture for me. Still a great camera 🙌🏼
...hilarious, @MeTheDroidor. The "ISO dial' on the M-A is purely cosmetic - it serves no function. Both cameras are "pure mechanical" and share the same internals, *except* that the MP has a built-in meter. In other words, the MP has additional functionality as well as being mechanical. Want to turn the MP into a fully functional all-mechanical M-A? Remove the battery. Simple.
Quoting Matt Day: -10 points 👎🙄
