    As soon as you showed the double string cord you made I knew exactly what I would use it for. I am making a beach bag and with suitable size string it would look great as the handles. Love this idea of cord making, thank you Tuula.

    I crocheted a couple little drawstring bags for my granddaughters. The creator just used a long chain as the drawstring, and it doesn't look right to me. I'm going to try this technique to replace the drawstring. It's an interesting way to make a cord!

    hehehe so 2 chains, 2 sc, a double crochet before all the rest sc! These would make good bookmarks!

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Рік тому +2

      No double crochet! These might be too rounded for a bookmark, the Romanian cord might be better for that!

    Thank you, Tuula. This is a much easier way to create I-cord. I have a couple of projects that call for an I-cord edging. I believe this would work wonderfully. It will also make a much nicer drawstring for the bags I crochet.

    Greetings from France 🥰. The weather is great over there. We have showers of blessings 20h a day😢. I would use your beautiful cord on my knitted hoodies with pompoms attached. And strong cords with pompoms attached to a stick, for my playful cats. I made one knitted purse for my phone and the cord stretched double the length because of the weight of the phone. Oooops had to shorten the strap by making a big loop🤣. Now it's solid. Thanks for sharing. Hugs 🥰🤗👍👍👍

    I just found you on youtube and noticed that you hold your left hand differently than other crocheter videos. I am having a hard time as a beginner figuring out how to hold my left hand comfortably with consistent tension. Could you please make a video about how you hold your yarn. Thanks.

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Рік тому

      Yes, I hold it the most common way in northern Europe and also many other countries, mainly non-English ones. I have two videos about holding yarn and hook. A recent one I talk about many different ways and at the end show how I crochet ua-cam.com/video/mQOfQH4-nrM/v-deo.html. And then I have a shorts video that shows just my own way ua-cam.com/users/shortsNJm87ImCWJI

    I love your videos and your precise way of teaching! My initial use of this cord will be to replace a drawstring that broke in a pair of comfy pants I wear at home and while I’m painting - the kind that aren’t very fashionable but are invaluable! …exciting, I know🙄, but I will find more things to make them for once I’ve got the first one down!
    I love Ireland! I’d love to go back someday; this time to stay in one area and paint the wild beauty of the countryside and the coastal areas! 💚

    Hello Tuula, I need some help please. When I crochet a dishcloth it seems to not come out the same size for width and length and I need to know why? I use the cotton yarn and the same hook as the video and the same amount of chains but still does not come out the same size as the video. I’m so frustrated!! Makes me want to quit crocheting all together! Something so simple and I can not get it to come out right and can not figure it out. Can u help me please?! Thanks! 💕

      @@Value1lady It is always worth making a gauge swatch IF the final size of the item matters. The tutorial or pattern normally gives it. Then you need to adjust your hook and yarn if your sample is not the same size. In cases of simple shapes and stitches you can also just add or deduct stitches.
