    Thank you very much for your detailed video about your transatlantic cruise on QM2. My wife and I will sail aboard her in just a few weeks. Your insight has been very helpful. I especially appreciated the detailed looks at menus and food offerings. Wishing you and your family more wonderful cruises in the future. Steve (Dallas, Texas)

      Hey Steve! Small world... I'm in Denton!!! So funny. You and your wife will love it!!! Yes, I wasn't sure if giving the detailed menus would be appreciated or annoying, so I'm glad they were helpful!

      It is a small world! Youngest daughter is a UNT grad, now a teacher in the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. We sail on Aug 16, heading for London Monday. Take care and may God bless. 😊

    Wonderful afternoon tea. ❤
    Jam then cream.

      Yes, it was fantastic! Jam, then cream... thank you! Someone else said the same. I may be speaking out of turn, but I do believe most Americans don't really know which comes first!

      cream then jam.
      Cream takes the place of the other dairy product (butter sometimes used with scones) with the jam on top (of course).
      Accept nothing less. Cream first, jam second. As god and the world intended.

    I love this detailed video and spending time in each venue rather than running all over the ship. I'll be onboard for the world cruise in January of 2026 and you have really gotten me excited about going.

    Your afternoon shots of Britannia with the menus laid out for Red & Gold night look really good. Most vloggers film it early in morning to get it empty, but I think it looks great being set up for the evening.

      Thank you! I am not the best videographer, but I'm trying to capture a few extra things that I haven't seen on other vlogs that cover Cunard. We loved the food!!!

    That sticky toffee pudding should come with its own insulin. It was super sweet, even for me! By day 2 I was already up to around 8 soft-serve cones. This vid is making me miss the QM2 and we've only been home a few weeks! As far as tea goes, we had a British person sitting with us who complained about the butter vs clotted cream. The head waiter told us that Cunard used to get their clotted cream from an outside vendor but recently stopped, so that's why they're using whipped butter. We liked it all the same.

      On one of my sticky toffee puddings in King's Court I forgot the sauce! It was still good, but not as when the toffee sauce is with it. I never even knew sticky toffee pudding existed until we went to England, and then I realized what I had been missing all along!

    Golden Lion THE BEST bRITISH fISH & cHIPS at Sea..

  • @egpx
    @egpx 2 місяці тому +1

    Haha! I presume that’s your mum being a bit diplomatic about the Fish and Chips in the Golden Lion. The fish is deep fried in batter, the same stuff you make pancakes out of. Traditional British fare. I had it one day and it was ok but not as good as the fish and chips you get at a traditional chippy in the UK. I thought the food was really good overall. My favourite was Coriander, the specialty Indian restaurant which was well worth the extra $20.

    • @cristatravers
      @cristatravers  2 місяці тому

      Yes, it was a bit "battered" to mother-in-law (she is always diplomatic)! We are used to a thinner coating. We didn't get to visit Coriander, but it sounds great... I do love Indian food.

    It’s jam then cream, on scones. As the cream is usually ‘runnier’ than the jam

    Is the ship as run down as people are reporting?

    • @cristatravers
      @cristatravers  Місяць тому

      I didn't think so at all! I had heard about that, but I honestly saw nothing that looked like it was in disrepair. Also, I am not sure if passengers are mistaking an older "Hollywood" style with being outdated. Sometimes a less-modern style leads to one perceiving the vessel as run-down as well, instead of appreciating its unique character.

      @@cristatravers I personally am not religious but I did not mind at all you sharing your experience at all. I appreciate the realness of this instead of showing an empty ship. Do not hide the natural light inside nor be dissuaded about sharing your talks nor church. If folks don't like it they have a choice to watch elsewhere. This felt less made for tv and more like we were invited to share a table together like one does with strangers on trips. I again thank you kindly!
