I hate this addon so much. The options were clearly made by someone who hasnt cleaned anything in his entire life.
I tried to like it, I spent over a day trying to make this work but actually making this thing act like you want is such a horrible experience that I couldnt recommend this to anyone that I didnt hate.
Every single thing you try to do, the addon seem to work against you.
So I've downloaded a profile I really like. However, it removed my standard picture frame (the standard frame where you see your own characther in a picture). How can I get that back?
I see that this vid is 5 years old, but that makes me wonder if you could do a video on addons you think you’ll be using in DF. I’ve heard there are many changes to the UI, but I haven’t checked out the beta to see for myself.

That was a good idea to put such a guide out there. Maybe more people will be encouraged to heal :) For me, it was the discovery of vuhdo back in WotLK that made me switch to healing, which I haven't let go since :D
A few key things though, which you should probably mention: Some stuff isn't inheretly configured for the best use for a specific boss. For maiden for example, as disc, you'd want to also activate the undispellable debuffs.
Another thing: avoid putting spells you use the most of the time on your mouse wheel button. Prayer of healing on that key resulted in a broken mouse wheel on two Razer mouses , because of that much usage.
I also like to mention, that while as disc, you don't want your target to switch from the boss, it is a nice function when healing as a holy priest. That way, you can play with your 1-2-3 keys all while also healing with clicks.
Good overview! I'm a massive VuhDo fan, but it is incredibly daunting for newbies (as it was for me at first). A few things I've found and enjoy: certain Custom Debuffs I will change the bar color so it's glaringly obvious who has it. For instance on Maiden I set it to change the bar color of people who have Fel Infusion so it's really easy for me to differentiate who is on which side and who I should pre-atone for Hammer. Also HoT Bars (below HoT Icons) is often overlooked, but I find it a great way to track timed heals like Renewing Mist and Atonement, as it shows a bar across the frame that runs down, making it easy to tell at a glance how soon it will fall off.
I do have a question @Automatic Jak . I have set everything in Vuhdo, however; everytime i close the setup window all the panels disappear. Why is that? How can i fix it? (I have Healbot running at the same time)

You should make a hey raid leader this is how your disc priests cd work. I have tried to explain but they don't understand. They kept not putting me on the cd list and I was like >.> you clearly don't udnerstand me.

Did copy your disc/holy profile but when I am in dungeon and I mouseover the party member and hit key 4- Penance it casts on me even tho my mouse is over the other player. and when my left mouse key is set to heal, I practicaly cant cast anything else on other party mambers only the mouse key spells. Why?
Hey, this is unrelated to this specific video since I did already have my Vuhdo setup. I just wanted to say that I love your videos and I appreciate them very much! No other healer out there has such great quality videos and being a holy priest myself it helps even more. Eventhough I don't raid a lot I still feel like you've made me a much better healer!

how do you set VuhDo so when you click on your VuhDo frame your key does one thing and when you click on the rest of the screen it does another?
I'm such a dumb dumb, I've been manually swapping the key layouts because I skimmed right over the spec options

I like the quickheal raidframe but with this mod, i can see my regrowth buff active but i cant get the rejuvination symbol to show on the boxes?
Any way to automatically "target" the person you click on within the vuhdoo raid frames? for example: i just poser word shielded a dps, and now i want to use another spell on him too from my keybinds, but my target is not on him. ya know?
Go to Spells and in the spell sections bind "Target" "Dropdown" and "focus" just type those words into each slot. Then you'll be able to do all of that

I wanted to ask you how it is you have your screen out so far i cant get mine to back out any more after the patch so i was hoping you had some command that i could use thanks for your time and the help with vuhdo.
cant get it to show the panels...and dont have hidden checked, they dont show up in 5man at all either >

Awesome guide jak, I've used vuhdo for years after trying all the other mods out there and this one is hands down my favorite. Looks great, super easy to use but you can make it as advanced as you would like. For those like me who have other healers (I have all of them leveled but only 'main' two), try to keep some of your spells with similar keybinds it will make your life so much easier. So for instance for my priest my renew is left mouse click for holy, plea is left mouse click for disc, resto druid is rejuv left mouse click and so on - you get the picture :) Just some of the same types of heals and then it's just a matter of muscle memory when you switch from one healer to the next.
I had so many alts. I ended up going back to heal bot because I just wanted my own health to be in that first slot with the AV layout. I want to use vuhdo by BFA tho. Great guide. I saved it in my wow playlist
Is there any option in Vuhdo to set a fixed total panel size? What i mean is i want my raid frames to occupy exactly lets say 300x600 units, no matter if i'm in a 5-player group or a 40-man raid. I like to set up my UI around the raid frames but its such a pain when you have to save a bunch of different profiles for each group size.
Yeah I think the only way would be different profiles for different size groups and adjusting the panel scales for each profile to be the same size. AFAIK thats the only way
If I delete the healing bar how do I get them to show up again
Go to tools then reapply the profile
Also for others to note, it takes Vuhdo an update or two after a new raid/patch for them to update the new debuffs. I had to add in a few debuffs for a few weeks in ToS before it was updated.

I'm struggling to find the point of using healing/mouse over macros if you are already using a healing addon like Vuhdo or Healbot. Why would I need macros in conjunction with this addon? Is there a point? Does it make it that much faster or is the healing macro without the addon the same as the addon, or is one faster than the other. What am I missing?
Some use it for specific enemy related abilities, I have a mouseover macro in addition to a bind in vuhdo for grip. So if I see someone falling off a cliff I can mouseover and grip them in addition to just clicking on their frame if someone calls it. Otherwise I don't use many macros when healing
What is your refresh rate? How many ms do you have it at for tracking player's health at? Should be in General/Scanner area.
Both rates are 250ms

this war really helpful, But I have one question, long ago when I was using the Addon, whenever my healing target was out of distance, I used to have a green arrow dictating his direction so I can reach him faster, I am really not sure if this was totally removed or I can still activate it though the menu. can you please help?
Blizzard made it impossible for any add-on to track your position with any other player. So arrows showing you where other players are, is gone.

Well I saw on the internet nice popup on frames when people used theirs potions. It was animated. Any tips how can I do that?
You could add the potion buff to the Hot Icons group and make it show for everyone.
I downloaded the Vuhdo Disc data, but the spells look like they are for the Holy spec.
ya you have to put the spells in manually I have both the disc and the holy one and every time I switch between them I have to put the spells I need for disc in and vice versa. I think that is my only con about the addon.
I explained in this video how to adjust the spells for when you switch specs automatically :)
I know you did, but what you said either doesn't work or I misunderstood. If I install the string for Disc, I would think that the spells would be for Disc, but they aren't they are for Holy. Are you saying that I still need to go in and manually switch them as Jujube stated and then save it under Spec 1 (for Disc)? I guess I am not sure what the point of making a Disc String is, if you have to manually update the Holy spells anyways.
Set up Holy, set up the spell binds as you like them. Go to Tools > Keylayouts and save the spec as "Holy" and load on Spec 2 is selected. Make sure "Load HoTs" is checked. Hit save.
Set up as Disc. Go into Disc spec, set up those spell binds as you like them (you will be typing over the Holy binds, this is fine). Again go to Key Layouts and save the spec as Disc and load on Spec 1. That should now make it so that your spell binds change whenever you change specs.
The strings I have listed in my links are for the appearance of the profiles, not for the spell binds. Those do two different htings.

Spells > find the bind that you want to target someone, in the slot that you want to have your bind just type the word "target"

Hey Jak do you know how to fix the problem that whenever someone joins the party and you are already in combat, their raid frames dont appear in vuhdo?
Its just an issue with Vuhdo not auto-updating. Big pain in PUGs

In the colors section I showed how you could adjust the appearance of dispellable debuffs. It should show up by default,. if not, go to Debuffs and ensure boss specific debuffs are enabled.
In Elvui go to Unit Frames, then Player Frame (you'll do the same for the target frame as well) then go to the dropdown menu on the right select Portrait and then enable Portrait and Overlay.

i tried to import your Disc priest profile for vuhdo and it would not copy/paste
Did you click on the "Raw Paste data" section, then select all, then copy?
I have been using VuhDoo for some years now and only thing I would love to be available is the npc frames which is impossible to get, only if are targetting or someone in your party is which is not effective at all specially on the challenge tower. And also I have seen 99% of best healers around that don´t use this addon, they just use macros. Problem is how you bind all healing spells and dps spells to be comfortable. Having to press ctrl or shift and another key like 1 or q is not comfortable.
The NPCs on the mage tower join your party so their frames are visible. And you might be in a bubble if you think 99% of good healers don't use vuhdo :)
The party npcs join, the ones you need to heal in the next phases and dispel don't, so you need mousover macros or target each one, which in the end is best to have mouseover macros and use that the entire scenario at least in that specific case where you need to heal npcs not in your party, a feautre that this addons don't cover. And most of the proficient healers I've seen don't use any addon, just macros. That doesn't mean that aren't proficient healers that use addons like vuhdo, healbot, clique, etc.
With grid you install and that's it, with this its like studying computer science.
Man, copied this in and every single thing I do I get CONSTANT messages in chat saying "HoT 4 tries to hook a bouquet "Some Stuff" which doesnt exist!"....all I did was copy/paste like he said and this immediately started. Any idea how to fix?
Go to Panels > Hot Icons and delete Hot Icon 4. Highlight it and hit backspace, then hit Ok. I've been trying to find a good fix for it, but its unfortunately a frequent issue with my export
Much appreciate the response my friend. So far been working very well. One weird thing I have noticed, and was hoping you could help with, is that when I join groups (world quests for example), the party frames do not appear like they do when I join a raid. Any idea?
Sounds like you may have a profile conflicting where it loads when you have X numbers of people in the group it alters the profile. I'd look through your profiles and make sure there arent any Loan requirements in the "tools" section

Hey Jak, great Guide, but i have Problems by import youre Profile.
Errors like " Mana Bar" tries to hook bouquet "Manabars: Mana only" which doesent exist!"
spamming in my Chat every 30 Seconds.
The same thing with Role Icon, Background Bar and Outer Border.

Go to Panels>Hot Icons and delete slot 4 which is the "Some Stuff" Bouquet. That should fix the other issues

Dunno if I missed it, but how does it compare to healbot? Been using it forever, tried vuhdo in late wrath but never got used to it.
Vuhdo has more customization options and personally I find that it is much quicker to update and easier to use. I initially switched to Vuhdo because my healbot was broken and the devs hadn't updated it in ages.
This is exactly why I moved away from Healbot as well, but I just went to elvui's integrated raid frame + Clique. I've thought about switching to Vuhdo (especially since adding debuffs in elvui can be an exercise in patience), but I hate switching raid frame/healing addons. It's like having to wear in a new pair of shoes. Painful until it's not.

go to Spells tab, then drag the trinket into whicever slot that you want

I have the following problem:
I set up a profile for a group size of max 10 players and ordered them in max. columns 5 and max. rows 2. I saved it and set "activate due to group size" to 1, 5 and 10.
Afterwards I changed the profile name and created a copy of the first. I changed panel sizes to be smaller and max columns to 5 and max rows to 5. I moved the panel to the left and saved the profile. Then I set "activated due to group size" to 15, 20 and 25.
After changing the panels of the second profile, the panels of my first profile are also smaller and have moved, even though I made those changes to the second profile. Why is that?
Sounds like there is some sort of interference between another profile. Make sure that both of the profiles that you want to work with are only loading when you are playing a specific spec, and that no other profiles have size activations on them so they won't interfere as well. Other than that, just making sure that you saved your settings for profile 1 before copying that profile over to #2.
This is what I did:
1. I imported your profile.
2. Changed the colors and gradients of your profile.
3. Saved under a different name (char name 1-10).
4. I activated the 1, 5 and 10 under "activate due to group size", marked "Spec 1", marked that profile as default profile and locked it.
5. I entered a new profile name (char name 11-25) and saved.
6. I moved the panel and resized the bars to be smaller.
7. I saved the profile and checked the 15, 20 and 25 under "activate due to group size", checked "Spec 1" and locked.
8. I reload the UI/or restart the game and even though I am alone, the second profile is loaded instead of the first AND the bars of profile 1 are smaller...
What am I doing wrong?
Correction: the two profiles ARE different, they have different settings. But it doesn't autoswitch to single when I am alone, it choses the 11-25 profile instead. If I have to switch manually it's not ideal, but that's something I can live with.
This is an addon guide that doesn't show off the addon in action. *shrug*
I literally pulled up the test mode of the addon to show the differences in HP that would be displayed or the different buffs displayed below it. Also every other video on this channel shows me healing bosses so if you really wanted to see that, you can check any other vidya
Automatic Jak just thought you might showcase it a little more. As someone who uses grid but is interested in vuhdo I was just curious. But it seems to use all the same textures so I suppose it doesn't really matter. Thx.

I've been using this addon for years, and I love it. Your guide helped me with the bouquets, much appreciated! Also, I hate when my Tanks are spread out in my frames. Can I group them together say in panel 1 under me, or together in their own panel? Thanks :)
Yep! Just go to the Move tab, then edit the panels to be specific roles rather than raid groups
I think I tried that once, and my panels looked all weird after that. Do I do that just in Panel/group 1 lets say that's where I want them?
Yeah it might take a bit of fiddling to get people where you want them. I usually just hassle my RL to adjust the groups how I like em.

Good grief, I find your guides and your videos very valuable and informative. Thank you for doing this, you don't have to, but chose/want to help us! I never knew about bouquets. Vuhdo has a lot more potential than I realized.
great guide! I feel like this addon is sometimes underrated for healing. I had it for a while and then accidentally deleted my own custom profile (major fail) and just continued with the normal raid frame... but now with mythic raiding TOS I just decided to go back at it again and it's so so worth it. You have so much more options and it helps you to react just that much quicker that it litterally can save lifes :D Thanks so much for this guide, I missed some details myself and now I feel like I am really able to customize everything, good job.
