excellent! As a note of interest, Manfred's Aunt immigrated to Ontario Canada, In Caledon. she lived just down from The Brampton Flying club on McLaughlin road which is open country. She donated a lot of Manfred's personal belonging's to the Flying club, including his flying gloves, knives' etc. used during the war and a beautiful oil paining of him. He was one handsome man. His artifacts can be seen in the Flying Club museum along with other World War 1 artifacts and many original WW1 flying planes that are used in movies etc. and are flown every summer. I watch them circle and fly overhead. A very beautiful sight now, I'm sure during the war to see them was not a beautiful sight.
that is cool. WWI pilots are an anomaly as during and before the actual war propaganda was just as hot and heavy as WWII, with accusations of German barbarity ranging from crucifying people to torturing cats. The pilots never got that rap for some reason, probably the novelty of flying and the aristocratic nature associated with it at the time. Thanks for the info though, I need to schedule a trip
@@thegadflygang5381 Actually the Canadians were the barbaric ones. German's nicknamed them, 'The Storm troopers' or Shock Troopers' due to their speed and agility. When troops were massing it was kept quiet that the Canadians would be there for the 'shock' element. Canadians killed every POW prisoner and were fierce about killing.
@@rosered103 I genuinely dont know much about the WWI misconduct outside of the English colonial troops in general had an awful rep for rape and misconduct. I cannot remember which specific books but in summary troops from Africa and the Middle East had cultural traditions in which after battle you claim wives and plunder, so the English and French pretty much let them run rampant. It was even worse in WWII with the rape of Italian and German women en masse. Emmit Tills father, Louis, was hung for the rape and murder of Italian women as the Allies used troops of color as a rear force to hold territories that were won while the main force advanced. @@rosered103 I didnt know that about Canadiens though but I am not surprised. War is hell and thanks to those idiotic two World Wars which should never have happened, Europe lost it best and brightest men. We are seeing the results today
He was truly my idol growing up and I struggled with the fact he was killed from stray infantry fire.... but looking back clearer now it seems like he was simply too good to be defeated by another pilot. His audacious low level flying resulted in a lucky Australian making a pot shot
I came to know his name when I was 12 while reading a magazine in the school library during recess. His story remains fascinating to me up till present. A remarkable pilot of all time. ❤
Now that is real respect when your enemies give you the full military send off. Thanks for the look into the past of a person long since gone into the great beyond.
Loved this, my grandfather used to tell us about the Red Baron when we were kids, and he would end the story with, it was a great day when the Baron fell, but he respected him and his talents, thank you for posting this video, very well done, take care.👍💙
People forget just how young Manfred was when he died, just 25 years old! After surviving 80 air, life and death struggles, he may have gotten a little too bold and broke his own rule about flying over enemy lines! It cost him his life! Most all good investigations into his death conclude was it was a ground shot that hit him. But we will always forgive him since he didn't kill Snoopy! "Merry Christmas my friend!".....😃
My Great Grandfather commanded a squadron of tanks in WWII and was killed in battle on his 20th Birthday..its incredible how these near kids achieved such things
He looks exactly how I would picture a Prussian aristocratic angel of death to look like, Beautiful. Wonder what he would’ve done if he was born in a different time? Great mini doc
80 confirmed kills in those old biplanes and triplanes! You know he was that dam good. (Looked a little like Hemingway with that white beard depiction.)
Even though I am British personally to me Manfred von Richthofen the legendary Red Baron is the greatest Fighter Pilot that ever lived and the Biggest Legend of them all. WW1 was a war that should never of happened in my opinion and as a patriotic British man, in history up to then Britain and Germany were always Allies and Friends, our British Royal family came from German Kings infact the Kaiser Wilhelm 2nd was Queen Victoria's grandson. Back to Manfred von Richthofen even though he killed many of my fellow countrymen, there was never a German fighter ace that was respected and honoured by his enemies in war. The Red Baron lives on not only by his fellow countrymen in Germany today but by all of us who are from the Allied nations that were from his former enemies. No other Pilot in war has more of a Legendary name as the Red Baron Manfred von Richthofen and lives on. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪

He was depressed at the time,
So sad really
This so interesting to watch.thank you for sharing.
Fascinating history! As a pilot, I’m always so interested in early aviation history. Thanks for this in-depth look at The Red Baron.

I have been interested in Richthofen for many years. I've read many things about him. Thank you for providing a new perspective.
Wie cool, Danke. 👍👍
Thanks!
@Andrea Strutz, read my comment above about his personal belonging's.
Thanks for the clip. Fascinating indeed. ❤
I always feel something special when I look at these but I can't identify what this feeling is....
Fascinating story! As a child I always wondered who the Red Baron was.

This was very cool the history lesson was a great compliment to the AI photos
İnteresting history and story.
Ngl I like WWI history better than WWII history thag everyone always talks about.
Fine young man, good looking. 🙏🕶
👍
Why was he made so dark skinned? He was European.
Yeah, during the image processing it received a bit of too much tan…
@@MysteryScoop They made him darker than me and I’m part Polynesian! Ah. The re-writing of history.

There are beautiful photographs
Do Field Marshal Zhukov next!
Dang handsome bastard, imagine if he was captured, they would have to pray the women of him
He was handsome.
His grand grand dauther murdered her father and mother here in Brazil. Her name is Suzane von.
She was his great grand niece. The Baron had no children
hahah he was 25 no kids
At 8:07 he lookslike to a young Jude Law
Ih UA-cam's the video you are watching is my cousin Manfred von richthofen yes he is my cousin
shot down by the ANZACs
He would turnover in his grave if he knew how much dishonour his offspring would bring him in Brazil.
Do tell. What happened? My Opa died in WWII in Russia but I know many Germans fled to Brazil and Argentina (Giselle Bündchen? Not a Spanish name)
He had no children. It was his niece.
he never had kids
Manfred von Richthofen was a good man, a special person but above all a great driver and a worthy opponent 🫡❤😢
