Nice work! A stand-alone battery box w standard connections appears more predictable & less liable to malfunction!
Awesome video. I think I'm going to get one. Great to see an Aussie putting this sort of useful content. Thanks.
Thanks so much for making this man! Tasty loop too!
You’re my favourite Byron Bay busker x
HA
You’re giving me a lot of hope. I’m wanting to do some outdoor ambient guitar videos and this looks like a solid solution. Especially when all I really need to power is just my pedalboard.
The peddelboard dont eat much power, get ur self a inverter,or a portable solar battery power pk,
What have u come up with? I’ve been using a DIY 12V SLA battery in a $5 plastic ammo box. Couple 7809 Voltage Regulators-1.5A apiece, 3A total.
Most stomp boxes don’t use a lot of mA, unless they’re Digital. The digital pedals can use a lot of juice and they can be particular about what their shared with. Batteries are usually quiet but if there’s circuitry involved to boost or buck voltage or inverters, there can be hum.
It may come down to what’s an acceptable level. Some people are annoyed by even a little background noise, While I have heard some people happily ignoring a hum/noise in favor of just playing. I built my stuff a couple years ago, I think they’re a lot more options now.
I also use a portable charging station. Here I tested it on a city street with EVERSE 8 (live vocals), listened to the sound of a portable battery-powered speaker from different distances up to 200 meters or more, and also demonstrated the inexpensive AllPowers S200 mobile charging station. Filming took place in the center of Kazan at a street concert of vocal backing tracks for vocalists in the genre of golden retro hits. great video mate
Is it still working well for ya?
@@Darcycheatle Hey Mate! Yeah - it's going string. Very happy with it
Cool stuff Mark. And don't worry about how the sausage is made - how it works and how much it costs is all I wanted to know. Thank you!
Mr crotti,
I do busking for many yrs,yet my stuffs are simple, spk i have a Boss S1, plus 8 ch mixer small, mic stand or head mic, guitar with dr3,and a looper digitech, for power i take my zeepin with me, with a extended pwr supply for the mixer and other misc, the zeepin is about 150W,thats good for 8 hours or I use my greenworks 300W inverter with the same battery 8 hours, and it works great, the jackery will give u a better job than mine,so good luck,u should visit the caribbean, and make some money😁😁
I'd like to clarify, this model is $600 - not $400. There is a $400 version too (which I believe would still work anyway). SUNOVO PORTABLE POWER STATION 504WH INVERTER GENERATOR - that's the name
But it have a great review its good, theyre more leas exspensive ones, with 500W for 300 bucks,i go at the beach and play no prob,im a retired airport manager and i make part time money from music,so invest, and smile, covic is behind us make as much u or we can folks,be safe
Hi Mark. Have you been having problems with ground noise?
Would the Jackery 1000 power my Fishman 180W performer?
Hey Mark! Love this video! Thank you for these reviews! Really really helpful! How is the generator holding up now a few months down the line. What model was that also? You never said how many Wh or Single output of Watts and so on. I think i'm going to be getting myself a 200-300Wh type of deal. Please hit me up! Life is great also thanks for asking haha.
Sorry for the delay mate - here is the model - SUNOVO PORTABLE POWER STATION 504WH INVERTER GENERATOR -
Hey Van!!! It's me Evil Planet LMAO!!!!!
I need to power a 25 watt amp and about 16 9v pedals, and a laptop with interface for at least 5 hours.
Can you power a pair of JBL EON 15"? How long would last?
Good one, I want to power a Roland cube street ex, a 5 watt amp, and a boss dd7 digital delay for approx one hour
great.. I have a bit of the same set up.. did you buy it and does it work the whole day? (for 8 hours? )
Is the battery still treating you well?
Hi, how's the longevity going? You made it seem like portable power stations breakdown often and is that the case? Because I'm new to researching all this. I was looking at the jackery explorer 500w one as there's a black friday deal going for nearly half the price
So i've had this for about 4 years now, only now it starting to wig out a little bit. It's displaying 100% battery even when it's been used for a while, still works though. I think all batteries will eventually stop working, that's how it goes!
Ppl invest in battery power spk, most of them arw loud enough,I yse a Boss S1 pro,but there are batt pwr spk less exspensive, like Gemini 350 usd,GPS650 200W,folks its cheaper than roland or boss,on amazone
I recently bought a 'Bluetti AC50' to use outdoors but when I power up my amp I get a very loud buzz which increases with the volume knob. According to reviews the 'Bluetti' is pure sign wave. Anyone else having this issue and know of a solution. Also I am in the UK using a 3 pin plug and 240 volts.
Literally bought the Eco Flow River 2 today and am having the very same issue when I plug in my amp and play guitar. It reduces when I touch the strings but is a pain. Did you manage to find a fix?
@@troygawley6072 - I never found a solution. It seems to me that it's caused by the unit not being earthed. I don't know why this guy's not getting the same problem. I've given up trying to solve it and am saving up for a battery powered amp like the Roland Cube Street EX or something similar.
@@troygawley6072 hey, just wondering if you still have the same issue? Thanks.
@@LonePigsyAndCub Hey! yeah the problem persisted no matter what I did. I even went to the store and tried a brand new one thinking it may have just been a bad appliance. I even plugged in a radio and it was having the issue and it would go if I touched the radios antenna. So it seems like any sound gear has this issue. But obviously it’s puzzling because some people are obviously powering rigs. Still using my Roland Cube to busk but would love to upgrade my rig outdoors. My friend uses a leisure battery and pure sine inverter so I will give that a go at some stage!!! :)
hey there, same situation ,same eco flow,, did you figure out a solution? @@troygawley6072
Dear Sir. 3 months in, how do you report?
Oh my God, I didn't even, sorry, I love Byron Bay. I am from San Francisco and visited Perth and Byron Bay, well Balina, I think that's how you spell it; for roots and blues.
All my best.
haha love to hear it. Battery is going well still!
how do u feel about the battery now??
I dig it
Australian Dollars..right? NOT American Dollars?
In a dj busker, will this chew more battery playing music from Soundcloud, also you don’t need an inverter if you have the Sunovo?
depends how loud you running it at mate. I'd imagine live instruments would chew through more though.
no you do not need an inverter - watch the video.
@@MarkCrotti I reckon I would be playing music at 85-90 percent of the volumne , my sets are usually 3-4 hours long
@@ezza1236 might need a bigger one to be safe mate!
@@MarkCrotti a bigger Sunovo station you mean ? Do they even have that ?
Still working?
Sure is
Would be helpful to know the model. Is it the SPS300 or SPS500?
SUNOVO PORTABLE POWER STATION 504WH INVERTER GENERATOR
is this pure sine or modified? Any buzz?
Yes - Pure Sine and no buzz thus far!
@@MarkCrotti Have you experimented an modified sine? Theoretically this should give buzz, but I've never seen anyone showing this...
@@user-lh6tj4tr4c hey - nah it's very quiet. Haven't heard anything.
Didn’t hear clearly how much it used in power as you mumbled a bit at crucial moment!!
