The way this video seemed semi-scripted and evolved with the music was fresh and maintained my attention. To the topic of the video, I'm a musician coming back from a long break so my technical skills are gone and my time is limited, so I'm seeking a way to have a low effort barrier to getting grooves going just so I can play for myself - I think these small machines are the way to do it. I've started with a microfreak and nts1 and am looking into something to pull it all together, so I can tap out drums and bass and focus more on the lead sound to start
Yes!! This is the entire intention of my channel! Music and Talking, with a freeform feel but not blabbering. And to prove or push my opinion that the "effort barrier" you speak about is a real element when it comes to enjoying making music. Its also a difficult thing to quantify. Thanks for watching and your comment encapsulates my goals with UA-cam. 😊
I've recently become enamored of the Electribe Sampler again. I also see you have a Yamaha QY? Which one do you have? Do you recommend it as a tiny sequencer for other tiny synths?
Recently sold my qy300, contemplating selling the qy20 seen in the video. Im a big Robert Hood fan, so he got me into the qy's... but never found them inspiring. I actually don't know what I'd recommend for a stand alone small sequencer. Mc101/707 has a nice micro timing feature that I have found alot of insperation using. Have you ever tried the new roland MC's?
Blackbox is a very cool machine, deffinentlychecks all the boxes. I was considering one for a long time, but then the sp404mk2 came out. SP is not my first pick as a sequencer and I still sometimes wonder if I should have gone for the Blackbox.
Thanks for subscribing and welcome. What's your experience level? The MC101 is alot more powerful, but very difficult to use. The Electribe 2 in my opinion(I might be biased) is an incredibly well rounded machine that maybe only excels at workflow or ease of use. Stay tuned, I will do a comparison video.
@@MyLittleSynths Thanks a comparison would be great! I've never used a sample before but Electribe seems pretty easy I always look for randomness and handy pattern chain
Even with the World falling apart......I managed to Sub. your channel......YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!.......BRAVO!!!!!
Glad you found my channel. Hopefully we can use music as an escape from reality.

I see a lot of SQ-1 on here but I think id find it a bit limited. I like my Blackbox, it's pretty small.

Considering to grab an Electribe from a long time but Roland MC101 seems interesting too..what do you suggest?
