One of my friends from college was very much a Katya. Very loud, outgoing, and VERY open about very personal things with anyone, to the point that he could have a heart to heart with a new person for hours. This made anyone consider him a best friend of theirs within a matter of weeks, and he kind of felt uncomfortable. I was one of those people too, but he ended up considering me a best friend back. I do feel bad for Ginger, because I think that's what happened here. They probably talked a lot and Katya is a very open and understanding person who's easy to talk to, probably more so than most people, and Ginger latched on like anyone would. This makes me sad.

This video is a joke, chill. Y'all are understanding the term best friend as used by 16 yr old girls that are dependent on their friends. Ginger means Katya is her good Judie, she goes to her when she has a problem, that doesn't mean that Katya has to be the same, she can be close to Trixie and still be the one that really understands Ginger. However, that doesn't mean she loves Trixie more than Ginger or doesn't value their friendships equally. As you get older, you realize you don't need a "BFF" that's stuck to you 24/7 and is in every aspect of your life, you just need a friend that has been there, is still willing to be there, understands the way you think and call you out on your shit.

The story of our childhood, we all were ginger when we were young ( when we were young ) .
The thing is, Katya and Ginger are good friends and they were probably really good friends during the drag race taping and when they went back for all stars. It was only after the taping that Trixie and Katya did Unhhh and became the power couple we see today. Plus I think Ginge hasn't had many drag queen friends before and they do mesh well in their styles. Just look at the comedy challenge they did together in all stars. I know what it's like to have non reciprocated feelings for someone though and it does hurt so I feel for Ginger.

My advice is to look through your friends and critically evaluate why they aren’t as close to you as you are to them. Think through what’s happened when / if you lose a friend; what worked, what didn’t work, what was good and what was bad in the friendship. I used to have flaky bad friends who didn’t really reciprocate and weren’t there when I needed them because of something about me that I never addressed (eg. always talking about my problems and mental health issues). That made them never want to be around me. I didn’t look for friends in the right places and my own insecurities about not being likeable were projected onto new people I’d meet and they’d work out pretty quickly that they didn’t wanna be involved with me. If any of this sounds familiar then you can do a lot to change behaviour and make friendship easier for you
