This was terrific, Greg. Loved your demos on charging with and without the case. Thanks for all of your help with regard to kindles in general. I really appreciate your help.
Any comics or graphic novels that you get directly from the Kindle store have individual panel view, which you can enable by double tapping the center of the the screen.
@@anotherbibliophilereads Did you try the panel-to-panel view on the test graphic novel? I think it would still work. Then just double tap again to exit panel view
Bought it. Returned it. OK for Kindle-based comics when using panel view. Not good for regular comics. The showstopper was that it won't display covers in the library for sideloaded books. Not even close to being worth the hefty price (imho).
I have noticed the sideloaded covers not showing, but I think that has always been the case. Maybe a few devices back it was different. I can’t remember. In the end, I can live with it.
@@anotherbibliophilereads Previously there were workarounds to fix the covers. No longer. Interesting sidenote: Amazon just delayed my refund out to the full 30 days. I suspect they are bombarded with returns.
@ When I returned the Boox Go 7 a few weeks ago, the refund was quick. I suspect you’re right that they are overwhelmed with returns and requests for replacements.
Kindlesoft, I like that 😆 I appreciate your thorough comparisons in regard to charging , covers, clarity and so forth. My opinion remains the same for me I do not need color. And I would not like the muted background of the color soft. And I like battery strength of my basic Kindle.
I was so excited about the color soft but I saw the bad reviews, and the price turned me off. I’m glad I got the paper white se. I’m really happy with that. I will use my iPad for color needs
I love the Colorsoft for graphic novels. I think the big thing that reviewers who arent digital graphic novel readers miss...is that there is a way to view panel by panel instead of pinch to zoom. That takes away the flashing and you can use the tap to continue from one panel to the next. You double tap on a panel and then you just see one box, zoomed in and can tap on the right to move onto the next panel. Not saying this is for everyone...there are definitely trade offs and for comic/graohic novel readers who want true colors...this isnt going to be that because thats just not where the technology is right now. But this is the best implementation of color e-ink ive seen and im happy with the trade off because i get migraines reading on an LCD screen. This was a great review though...for most readers i think it touches on a lot of great points.
I still have the Kindle 4th gen (had it for 12 years) and the only time I will get a new one is when that one is dead or actually destroyed. Seeing videos like this does help me think which one to get if that does happen so thanks. 💜
@@c.lstrife Oh man, that’s an old Kindle. How is the battery holding up? I’ve been a Kindle user since the first but I’ve never held on to them. I’m a tech geek and like new gadgets.
The colour e-readers are still a bit gimmicky to me. I think if the colours were less muted i may be more interested. But if i can still get better colour on a tablet, I'll stick with that. An anti glare screen and a charge every few days are small prices to pay for the better colour.
For me, the short answer is no. I am a Kobo fan but I didn't go for the Kobo Libra colour either. I don't read comics, graphic novels, or magazines on my e-reader so there is no need that I can see to upgrade my relatively new Kobo Libra 2 B&W e-reader.

Very informative Greg. Thanks
Im sticking with my Paperwhite for now.

Great video Greg! Especially for viewers still on the fence or maybe asking for the Holiday season. 😊
Yeah, not a great choice for the Holiday, IMHO.
You can double click on the comic and it will increase the picture on your comics
