Imagine being at this stage of your career and putting out face-melting, spine tingling, intense psychedelic music like this?!?! Amazing!
Artists gotta art, man...f'ing brilliant
Thom is a legit great bass player, his playing on this is fuckin classy.
Very underrated
thom plays the bass on almost every song this album - so sick!
My god that Phrygian dominant sounding lullaby he plays at the Come on Honey Read the Room part is so gorgeous
For me, it's a best track on "Wall of Eyes" from beginning till the end. Under Pillows and Wall of Eys also really good tracks.
Yes, those 3 and the beginning of Bending Hectic.
What about Teleharmonic??
@@hueyfreeman818 Growing on me! This album might be the best of the decade so far.
I literally cannot decide
I love this one, no Radiohead or Thom's solo project's shadow. Thom's passive-aggressive tone at the beginning, followed by that sweet break prior to release his voice at the bridge and outro. I'm in love, I gotta say ❤
Whole "wall of eyes" album made my day. This song is crazy!
Your day? It’s made my month, even my year!
my brother has been listening to this very often, he says it's the best song in the universe and I do agree.
Agreed
Agreed

4:37 reminds me of body snatchers when it goes into the break and followed by the lyrics shortly after that go "Has the light gone out for you? Because the light's gone out for me" man these guys continue top deliver gems
This buzzing guitar reminds me Robert Fripp so much
Alot of this seems early Eno, but just so glad they never had to ask him to produce; they have IT in spades!
Fracture
3:12 Fun Fact: This part here was originally it's own song called "Flanger" that was just incorporated into Read the Room as a second act.
fun fact the part at 2:12 makes the entire song and honestly as much as I love this song if that part wasnt there this song would be mediocre
@@89. Very bowieesque
@milolawrence642 that intro reminds me of so many classic rock bands. I can't put my finger on what song exactly that guitar rift reminds me of tho.
Awesome!
Best track off the album.
100%
110% ;)
Die not yet hear the entire album, but yes...must be!

If you write a 4/4 song you're fired from The Smile
Thom & Jonny are saving all the 4/4 songs for Radiohead, I hope
Like in The Good, the Bad, and the Queen;
From Blur or Gorillaz then 😂🍷
I think Thom n the gang have certainly imbibed the pyschoactive goodness. And it shows. Stupendous music and art.
Oh certainly.
I can't stop listening to this amazing song!
This track is my favorite of the album. First time I heard this I couldn’t decide if I wanted to burst with joy or sit in utter silence and be overwhelmed. Fucking amazing fellas!! Great album . Always putting out quality material. Keep on creating ✌️
THIS IS SO COOL, the music is built in 11/4!!!
Knew there was something happening there...
Wow
This is some hypnotic psychedelic 60's inspired taking in this weird dystopian World.😮
Loved the live version , hearing echoes from Burn the Witch & other greats, miraculous musicianship with Thoms soaring voice giving us a blast of the absurdity of Life experience .❤
So far, my favourite track from the album. This song is so mesmerizing, and it does not allow you to not pay attention👌
I honestly think that 'Bending Hectic' is their Masterpiece ❤
Agreed. The changes in tempo and structure makes it awesome.
And when the time is right
And when the end has come
Maybe you can't, maybe you can't be arsed (Can't be arsed)
For half a million (For half a million)
That's your opinion
That's how your story goes
A magic rain-, a magic rainbow (A magic rainbow)
So big, it bends the light high, high
You know it takes away
It takes the fun out
Maybe I can't, maybe I can't be arsed
This crashing currency
These kind of phone calls (These kind of phone calls)
These candy aerosols
These massive e-, these massive egos
So big, they bend the light high, high
Who knows what it wants from me?
This goes where it wants to be
Honey for the honey bee
But I am gonna count to three
Keep this shit away from me
Honestly?
Maybe you should read the room
What on earth?
Come on, honey, read the room
Who knows what it wants from me?
This goes where it wants to be

But I am gonna count to three
Keep that shit away from me

Watching these videos get posted is like watching music history unfold right before your eyes. Insomnia has its advantages.
So does working nightshifts😂🤝
The absolute cheek of you guys to just keep putting out totally solid music
That 11\8 blew my mind.
Thank you for your art activity. Please don't stop.
Don't forget about the 11/4 at the end! they came armed with the 11 theme on this one. so damn good
gotta love this time signatures 😂
Their music does something to me and always remains indescribable.
This Song definetly does🤩
I feel stuff coming together in a best of both worlds, in this case Bangers & Mash and I Might Be Wrong.
This song is so fascinating! It gives me strong 90s & early radiohead vibes but then flashes some modern tones in a way that it feels like travelling back and forth through time. Such a mind-blowing song!
This album is getting more and more interesting
this song is incredible studio and live, im amazed at the creativity of expression this band have achieved already
goes from Larks Tongues Starless Crimson to Kinks Village Green to Sonic Youth jazzmaster-basher heaven. i'm dead.
absolutely bloody brilliant
Pure Sonic Youth at the outro and I love it!
@@SlummingItWithScotty i live for that sonic youth vibe. bless.
Via Pavement
I feel so incredibly on edge. And I am loving it.
the internet has ruined that word for me
@@KayJblue internet has blown many subjects of our lives
edging me too for sure.
Excellent. Thank you for this track. Real dang good.
This is beautiful this is everything I ever wanted Tom York and Johnny greenwood have done it again they have mastered the masterpiece of Music in the form musicians for the form of musicians💯⚡😊
My favourite song on the album
If this song doesn’t become one of their most known tracks, I’ll eat my hat. I hope this doesn’t turn out like Bangers and Mash, where it slaps yet is criminally underrated.
Anyways, I love this so much. Clearly the best, hardest hitting track from this album. The softer valleys between the crushing peaks (example: 1:41) before it picks back up (2:11) are just so good. And Thom’s voice….unraveling like he had done for decades. Seriously, one of the top 10 tracks I’ve heard ever, and this is just on first listen.
Also, much appreciation on 3:15 for solidifying my point on the possibility of this turning out like Bangers and Mash! Sounds a bit like it lol.
Ha I think even if it’s underrated the lack of fame for the specific song will not undermine its greatness.
That dreamy krautrock section from 3:12 to finish also reminds me quite a bit of the King Gizzard album Laminated Denim, because it sounds kind of like the album's first track. I recommend you give that record a try, if you're looking for something that sounds similar.
@@GuyWhoLikesTheSnarkies1435 Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll give it a listen.
Best ending to a Smile song. One of the best endings to a Radiohead-adjacent song all together imo
So good, still at the top of their game.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW THEY KEEP SUCH INNOVATION FOR SO LONG?!!!!!
Greatest living songwriter hands down
hey this is really great but you can't surely believe that right ?
the OG's of prog are still alive (well most of them) so every influence this song as taken as already an history and expertise to it that other have explored
@@raphaelleclercq7836 I'm guessing they're possibly alluding to the depth of Yorkes catalogue over the decades. Hard to argue that, for me.
@@raphaelleclercq7836fine, *one* of the greatest
@@raphaelleclercq7836name someone better… given Yorkes body of work … I can’t
An instant classic. What a band, what an album. Their debut and this one made me compose music again, after a nearly 10 year pause. It's insane how complex, hauntingly beautiful they have become. They are constantly reinventing themselves, always finding something new, fresh, daring. Thank you gentlemen, for everything you've done.
This track is crazy good. On par with some of the best tracks Radiohead ever released. This band isn't just a side project.
Agreed.
Сильный альбом!!! Очень жаль,что я никогда не побываю на концерте..😢
Понимаю (
Да ладно вам! Побываете.
BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM
este tema es hermosamente hipnótico
2 back to back great albums from the smile. I just cant help but to....
Esta canción está a otro nivel...tremenda.
Thom and Jonny are the only artists I've fallen more deeply in love with as they, have evolved. And what are the chances that those two meet each other.
The ending to this song reminds me of Pablo Honey/The Bends era Radiohead. It’s nice that they might be revisiting their roots and finding inspiration in them. I love it!!!
It's The Flanger
Gracias Thom!!
I love the drums in this.
My fellow Radiohead fans. We're seeing another radiohead-like band rise up, right from the beginning!
So far, this is my favorite song on "Wall Of Eyes". the entire album is a gem.
Real king crimson prog vibes from this!!
Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way 😅
Yes: baroque.
They've gotten away with more than almost any other band out there without being grouped into prog. This is insanely beautiful.
I hear more Revolver Beatles, yet I seem to be the only person I have encountered to think so yet.
Put this against Im Only Sleeping or She Said She Said and it’s just a modern take
Yes! Larks Tongues in Aspic Pt 2 and Dinosaur.
The whole album is an example of what music can be … and should be
It's awesome to hear Jonny can still write amazing art/prog rock songs like this and Bending Hectic after he's spent so much time with electronics and orchestras (of which his work has been equally impressive).
Appréciez le moment où vous entendez un chef d'oeuvre pour la première et dernière fois.
Still easily the best song you guys have made
I am just in awe and full of happiness truly beautiful in every aspect 💕
Fav song off album! Love this band and thankful for them!
It's like Christmas 😊
Merry Christmas!

This song is the entire reason this album slaps
Very few other than Jonny and Thom could make an album almost completely different from the previous one, but at the same A++ level.
The first Smile album was like In Rainbows or A Moon Shaped Pool. It grabbed you from the start and never let go. This album is more subtle. My first two times thru I was unimpressed, because I was expecting to be blown away like the first album. If it was not Jonny and Thom I might not have listened the third time. But by the fourth time, it was like listening to Bach when every time you listen you hear something new. I am now on maybe my 10th time through. :)
Every song of Wall of Eyes theres someone that say something like "This is the best track of the album"... Every Song it's beautiful for a difrent kind of person. But the hole album its magnificent.
This album is The Smile finding their sound. Everything is so complex and fresh with each song surprising you with changes in pace or melody. A much better album than the first and so glad Tom remembered that he is actually a man and didn't just sing falsetto.
Associating singing in falsetto with masculinity is a very childish and dumb notion.
@arefriendsaseptic OK Captain Fannycock
My favorite song from this album!
so amazing song! gets under my skin, what a feeling… thank you.
I don't like this album...... I love it. It's special, fresh, timeless piece.
Teleharmonica... pinnacle for me.
What a tune ..
:) Just smile on my face.
This is so good. That melody kills me man.
The comments here are great. Radiohead fans are the best.
Masterpiece
If this had been released under the Radiohead banner it’d have a million plus views already.
Half way through, this song turns into a 2000's era, Sonic Nurse, Murray St. Rather Ripped, Sonic Youth track. Love it
Best track by far
What a tune , best track by far. Can’t believe the boys can produce another unique sound and track. Blew me away. BANGER !!
I thought Thom promised this wouldn't be Prog. I'm pretty sure this is Prog - and it is fantastic.
Incidentally... Radiohead and King Gizzard are two of my very favorite bands. This song sounds very much like a Radiohead/King Gizz mashup to me.
This and other moments on WALL OF EYES bringing to life the idea of Jonny Greenwood joining Mastodon
Brilliant track from a brilliant album!! In my humble opinion, 'Bending Hectic' is their MASTERPIECE!! But I can honestly say that every song that Thom Yorke sings is nothing short of Amazing 🎉
I love the last part of this song. It sounds like breaking out of some restraining situation and feeling freedom at last...
oh this is beautiful. Well done :)
Love the album!
Brilliant!!!!!!
This song makes me happy..
so fun!
Best track on the album by far!!!
Do I really need to buy their 2nd album...? Oh yes, I need to! Even if this would be the only Track on it
Definitely get the album - it works best as an album. The songs on their own are phenomenal, but in the context of the record, it’s awe inspiring.
my fav from all the live shows! energy caught perfectly on here, very powerful start to finish yet so fragile, amazing work 👏👏
Listening for the fifth time now, not to sound like everyone else, but it’s true for me too. At first you listen, think this is alright. Then it rewrites your brain. Then you come back and think I’ve been craving this.
The smile drops, yet i smile.
Nice one lads.
4/4 goes to 5/4 when he sing "reaad the rooouum" blowing
definitely one of my favorite songs of 2024 so far
Best track in Wall of Eyes no question

This is fantastic!
gets under my skin, what a feeling… terrific artworks/animation of all the latest releases as well
Agreed! But do you know anything about the artwork in all these Wall of Eyes videos (except title track and Friend of a Friend)? Did one of them, or a close friend, do it? Is it all CGI? Am i weird to see what i am seeing in these moving Rorschach blots?
I couldn't find anything about them in a (probably lazy) search.
@@lauracooskey9481 you find it in the description of all the video's :)
Artwork by Stanley Donwood (longtime partner in crime, made almost all the album covers/artwork of Radiohead and now The Smile)
Animation by Sabrina Nichols
@@connynini Thank you! I saw the name Stanley Donwood in the description under the video just after i posted my question to you... thanks for adding what you know about him! A trippy world he creates!
Was it just me, though, or are the white pointy-headed things with eyes too spooky, like Klansmen? Maybe everyone sees something different there.
I was waiting for this one since I saw them live last July and it did not disappoint.
Just saw the vid for Friend of a Friend.. Its really good too.. 🎶 👍
Every detail in this song is so sensational.. Soo goood!!! Hits hard🔥🔥🔥
I was loving all the previously released ones, but I kept saying: "Where's the more-twisted stuff?"
Jonny is a gotdamn menace...
this song insane
3:12-5:15 Nobody seems to have pointed this out, but I'm convinced either Thom or Jonny might had been listening to King Gizzard for a while and was inspired enough to write that entire section😤👌
I came here to comment the same thing !!
Few days later and I can say this is the best one. Tough choice though.
i cant tell you how happy this makes me, listening to a beautiful song with the artwork is so inspiring, otherworldly, rejuvenating spiritually...
