Well Tony *did* spend basically the entire conversation leading up to that part praising her. Even for a badass like Ziva, having someone close to you, especially someone who also frequently pushes your buttons, practically brag about you has to feel good. “That’s why I brought her.” “‘La Bonita’ will kick your ass.”
Ziva is a threat in disguise. The three focused on Tony when they should have focused on Ziva! That scene with those two laying on the ground after ziva left was priceless
In a way, Tony made that possible because his brash behavior distracted the two thugs and kept them from recognizing the real threat that was standing right there in plain sight.

you can tell how they worked in tandem .... and how much he truly trusted her to cover his back .......... he roamed (canvassed) the whole scene. had his back to the two guards pretty much the whole time. basically directed his attention to the guy they were there to pick up. barely asked her if she had the other two while he ran after said guy. meanwhile .... she never moved from her on-call strike position. lol
Yeah, but judging by that smile it's almost like a (World of Warcraft) Warrior and Paladin working together. Let one be righteous and upright and let the other get into scraps more or less to keep them sharp. Plus she didn't kill them. Just gave them the old Batman treatment: Leave them in agony on the ground.
I feel sorrier for anyone who disrespects her... Her infatuated dates will have an awkward first meeting with her parents and extended family (NCIS and Mossad). The fool who makes the mistake of disrespecting her will suffer much worse.

This was actually _good_ directing. I don't remember which episode it was, but not long after this, they do show her in a similar fight - and she is terrible. When the actor (or actress in this case) can't actually do what the _character_ can do, _you do not show it,_ just the aftermath.

I got one can't get enough of Ziva. I don't know how that the goofballs could let her go from NCIS. Class, looks, and she played the part so great. I've watched all the past shows that she was on and can't get enough of her. Fantastic actress with class and style. Not taking away from Kate or Bishop, but Ziva? Thank you for your entertainment. Gotta give Cote de Pablo credit. She became a very strong character yet the writers and producers were trying to pigeonhole Ziva as an on the run victim, she disagreed with that proposed storyline. She was offered a large raise to stay but she stuck to her guns. I stuck with NCIS religiously until Tony departed. Now I watch only occasionally.

When you want your character to grow and the writers only have your growth/decline be related to a male character, it's not great writing, it's sticking to tropes and not trying something new. I love the relationships she had with the male characters, but that's not all she is and I felt the writers were going that way with her. That's not what Cote wanted and her contract was up so she left.
When I look back at this scene, and all those gangbangers thinking they were going to get the best of the agents, I'm reminded of that scene from dark Knight rises when that guy asks bane if he takes that mask off will he die and bane says "it will be extremely painful ......for you"

Love the video, but wish they would have shown Ziva taking the two members down!
It's old school. Sometimes in the old westerns would see from the street a person walk into the saloon. You'd hear the commotion. Then you'd see that same person walk out of the saloon. It invites the audience to use their intelligence and imagination. Sadly, today's film-makers feel that they have to show everything. We are the poorer for it.

Same here. Couldn't stand Ellie Bishop, she never fit in. NOTHING badass about that character. And I didn't find Emily Wichersham's acting worth much either.
