In that part, i saw a portal, and another down that portal aligned diagonally. A kid got swallowed by one side, and tosed into the other portal, each time being more a pile of organs, than a kid.
And in another part of my dream someone stabbed me, but i didnt died bc she stabbed a bar of soap, soft green soap.

Speaking as a writer, the sense of obligation and heightened public expectations can literally paralyze you into a writers' block that is really difficult to break through.

    • @Sarah.Riedel
      @Sarah.Riedel 5 років тому +15

@ happened to Stephen King too with the Dark Tower series. That block is the worst torture for a writer it's like being stuck underwater not being able to breathe.

    •  5 років тому +3

@@Sarah.Riedel Hmm, yeah, I can imagine that for someone struggling to get their creative vision written down in a structured, accessible literary form, it would indeed, be a kind of torture. But Stephen King has had a successful career for nearly 53 years, and in that time, has had over sixty books published.
If he struggled to finish The Dark Tower, it can't have been that prolonged, or devastating for him. He's had a more prolific career as an author, than just about anyone I can think of.
And that's not counting how many of his books have been adapted into hugely successful Movies, writing straight up Movies, or TV screenplays. So for him to claim to have suffered any kind of 'creative block' during this long and illustrious career is really quite disingenuous.
Even without his TV and Movie writing, he's consistently averaged well over one book per year, so when exactly did his block happen? How long did it last?
Even die hard King fans admit that The Dark Tower series was milking the theme so hard that the tit not only squeaked, but howled out in righteous indignation.
That's not to say I haven't enjoyed reading a few of his books, on a casual, non-fanboy level, but even so, he does tend to repeat the same formula over and over again.
But claiming to have struggled on one or two titles isn't really very significant when his whole career is taken into consideration. I'm not a heartless or unfeeling person when it comes to the crunch, but I find it very hard to elicit any sympathy for Stephen King's writer's block.

I remember seeing this obscure webcomic on 4chan like 10 years ago about a guy wakes up one night and finds a nightmarish figure eating his cat. He follows it into this insane lovecraftian nightmare dimension where everything is impaling and cannibalizing each other. he transforms into this grotesque thing with eyes and tentacles all over his body and I don't remember much else but in the end he returns to his house and eats his cat, so I guess it was some kind of time loop ordeal.
It was extremely bloody and gory, basically DyE - Fantasy in comic form and one of greatest things I've ever read. I have no idea who made it or where to find it but these horse eyes texts reminded of that curious unnerving atmosphere in that comic.

As a lover of Lovecraftian Horror, let's be real here - I am about 85% certain that "mother horse eyes" is a really veiled and oblique reference to Shub-Niggurath, one of the Outer Gods in the Cthulhu Mythos. Her whole thing is being known as "The Mother" or "The Black Goat with a Thousand Young", and the usage of wording in _9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9's posts correlate this. This was always a piece of Lovecraftian metafiction, and actually, a not half bad one.

there was something oddly satisfying about MHE's last "out of character" comment - regardless of how you interpret the narrative and of what degree of truth you put in the "author character", sticking to this ARG-ish, mysterious format where you constantly try to subvert the audience's suspension of disbelief has the obvious downside of it being difficult to impossible to actually take credit, as a writer, for the work you've created, let alone get compensation out of it. So for the author to drop the persona for a second to announce "this is my work and I'd like to publish it" is kind of a relief - you can appreciate MHE's posts or not, but there's no doubt that a lot of effort was put into them and it's good that he plans to get something out of it beyond being a nebulous internet urban legend - we all enjoy weird shit hidden in the forgotten corners of the internet, but being an entry in a creepypasta wiki doesn't pay the bills.

I just happened to stumble across your work today, and I 'm grateful to you for the time and effort you put forth in creating these windows into the strange, beautiful, cryptic world poised just beyond the view of those with merely standard tastes, modes of being, and brain/eye meat. Consider me subbed.

This is so very haunting. Had I come across that writing as it was unfolding I would probably have stopped sleeping altogether.

It's gonna be 3 years soon since this all happened. He writes so good and chilling. I personally would love to read the book if it does get published and I'm wishing on a star that it really would. For his and the people who love his work's benefit. I bet it'll be hit

Wow, that last line "I know how to meet friends. I've always known. It's easy. I'm going to go drink again." That hit me! That has the making of a profound ending. I kinda sorta really want this book.
