"That was my fault..... I picked you."
Voting republican in a nutshell
“And I also gave you the apple”
As a magician, I’ve used that line so many times.
that punch line
Classic!
His breezy confidence level is over 9000.
Anime is pollinating through memes
Comes with that level of skill.
THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! IT BE!!!!
Too bad that's not really what Vegeta said... He really said 8000, but bad translators wrote it as 9000, so people continue to propagate this fallacy even after learning it's incorrect.
THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! IT'S BROKEN!
"I'm gonna throw the axe in the air, throw the knife, throw the cleaver. And run like hell"
Man that was a good line. This guy is just amazing. So glad I found this video
That and razor sharp bowling ball are my favorite bits
President + Performer with Deadly Weapon + Ford's Theater + Time = Comedy

Yeah - Herbert Hoover and vaudeville pickaxe juggler = "too soon'

@@DFDalton1962 And you couldn't do it today either.
to perform this way you can't just be a smartass, you need real talent. this guy just happens to use humor to distract you from the fact he's an excellent juggler.
He's a tremendously talented juggler and comedian. The two talents comingle beautifully.
Yes... Otherwise, he would just be a talentless comedian... ?
:/
I agree hes a great juggler but idk about "excellent" and certainly not "tremendously talented"... the real talent, the real wonder behind this act is his raw remarkable persona and stage presence. His juggling, yes its very good and professional, but its far from top-class or even close to the greatest TECHNICAL jugglers in the world. For Michael Davis its not so much about technicality or complexity, rather its the ingenious mix of wit and humor that makes this so compelling.
@@SyenPie Yup. I watch these kind of comedies, cuz I don't even giggle for comedians who swear and throw racist slurs and call it comedy.
thanks for explaining it. if you hadn't mentioned this, i never would've known.
No obscene languages, no swearing, no insults to the crowd, just pure TALENT, SKILL and SENSE OF HUMOR.
And no time wasted. Compact and pithy wit.
Well, he did insult Senator Baker. :)
Pretty much saying "it's our fault for electing you".
Other than that - ye. Pretty clean act... had me laughing throughout..
He did insult the crowd
Easily one of my favourite comedians of all time, considering he never laughs at his own jokes
@@Skull19O1 Government officials don't count lol

This is the man that got me into juggling. Saw his special on HBO and went out and bought the book "How to Teach a Klutz to Juggle." Have been entertaining ever since. Michael Davis is the Master.
+rep sir
Ditto but in the UK and without the book 😎
Now that is entertainment.
very funny, what a laugh needed this, it has made my day. And to see all the old timers having such a great time, makes me feel wonderful.. I wish there were more of these, they leave a 85 yr old gal really happy today, Now my work will seem like i have been on a Holiday. Marilyn Dickstein
I hope you are okay, I'm leaving this comment here to remind you of this video. Hope you have a wonderful day if you see this.

Watched this act a bunch of times at different shows/venues, and this is my favorite since he is playing to the president and other distinguished guests. Even though I know much of the jokes already, Mr. Davis was able to improvise enough to make this routine even more funny! Love it!
I too noticed its the same act over and over. No new material.....Lame
@@davenone7312 Well that is how people did things before internet.
Comedians using same jokes for 90% of their routine was normal/expected cause who was gonna call them out? Most people never saw them more than once or twice, and even if they did it would have been months if not years apart.
It is not cause they were lame, they did it cause like every other human back then (and now) they do the bare minimum required of them to get paid.
@@greatiusiterfector4519 Yes, they perfected their show and then took it on tour. I reckon they still do in many cases.

"Razor sharp bowling ball" kills me every single time.
Does anyone realize how beautiful this is?
Performing for the President of the United States of America. No animosity. No vitriol. Most likely he was absolutely honored to be able to do it.
With the most powerful Democrat in the nation two seats down, having a blast. Imagine that today.
RobMacKendrick
that’s the only way it could happen today... in the imagination.
Sadly, those days are as dead and buried as the two great men sitting in the first row.
Regardless of political affiliation or beliefs, they still managed to remain cordial toward
each other and the rest of the world of politics.
And he was not boycotted after this. ...
Fuck Regan
This is damn fine comedy. You can tell by how no matter how much time passes, it still has its pizazz.
I saw this live when he performed it, Not only was he talented, And funny with some mild political humor, The nice thing about this was democrats and republicans laughing together. I miss the good old days!
I don’t know how many years I’ve been watching this video but I do know it sends tears down my face every single time. I’m a juggler too but I’m in total awe of Davis’ delivery - world-class comic timing and perfectly clean yet hysterically funny - that is a hard, hard thing to do. What a legend.
he improvises too. Some of the jokes are spur of the moment. He's just a very talented entertainer comedian who happens to be a top notch juggler too.
Beats me how the 2 Secret Service guys don't crack a smile until just after 6:54!!
They have probably seen the act before. The juggler would have been required to show his entire act to the secret service beforehand to determine whether it would post a security risk before being approved to be part of the evening's the performance.
I was wondering why those 2 guys weren't laughing at first, but it makes sense now!
I dont see them
They probably had a bet

Oh how I long for the days when Republicans and Democrats could be in the same room laughing.... 😭
Wanted to say something similar. Reagan wasn't my choice, but I still respected him and his office. The people voted and it was the "other guy's" turn. Even though he was on the other side of the aisle, you never got the idea he was actively trying to f**k over his political opponents and their supporters. Ironically, it was Reagan's dismantling of the Fairness Doctrine, that paved the way for the proliferation of unchecked RW propaganda, such as Limbaugh and Fox, which, over the last 40 years has been responsible for the extreme polarization of the country. Among their viewers, they have formented a distrust in science, media, government and education and directly led to Trump and the situation, this once great nation, faces.
@@CarbonTech19 Fairness Doctrine is unconstitutional. We are not China.
@@hermajesty52 I'm awaiting your equal outrage at anyone trying to deprive people of their 1st Amendment Right to free speech by trampling those rights using jackbooted thugs. I love UA-cam, and this is why. I am a young teen and wasn't around to enjoy Michael Davis at that time. so thanks to UA-cam, I can still enjoy this timeless act. I find it fascinating how I am sitting here, laughing, and enjoying something older than me. I take for granted some of the technology we have, so I took the time to step back and admire it.
Entertainment doesn't get any better than this-- skillful, hilarious and perfect comic timing by Michael Davis! And always
nice to remember one of the best and classiest presidents in U.S. history.
Absolutely brilliant, perfect timing and repartee 🤣
In both of the times I’ve seen this he gets the volunteer to throw the apple back prematurely. That is incredible skill for directing the crowd.
What a brilliant guy. I love his act. Thank you for uploading
This is the fourth time ive watched it, after seeing it 5 years ago.
I so needed this. Good talent, nice routine, but what i enjoyed the most was seeing two politicians (and spouses) from opposite parties sitting next to each other enjoying a good laugh. Oh the good old days when politicians fought hard, respected each other and at the end of the day left all that at the office and had no problem socializing together.
I gotta say the older I grow the more I enjoy watching these old shows.
Such great humour, and what a gentlemen he must be.
Just look at all these great looking suited people, would love to be part of one show as well some day :^)
Indeed
Great Michael Davis. I didn't know him, but I won't forget him now. Great act!
How fitting that Ronald Reagan, who himself had a great sense of humor, was in the audiance and having a hell of a great time!
No words to describe how genuinely funny (AND THRILLING!) this fellow and his act are!
I remember watching this performance on TV back then. I had totally forgotten about this highly talented entertainer. Thanks for uploading.
I’m glad I found this wonderful guy.
Ronald Reagan was absolutely pissing himself.😂

Awesome.
To play for President and Mrs Reagan.
Not if he has a conscience.
The high society in USA standing up for Michael.. just one man with some objetcs, intelligence and a warm comedy show... he is UNIQUE, probably the best night oh his life.
America has some amazing talent, how come you never shared this guy ?
Not just a brilliant juggler but a fantastic comic !
Never heard of him before this showed up in my feed today. Wish we could see more performances and entertainers like this and fewer of almost anyone we have today.
They gave him a standing O there at end.
the two guys behind Reagan were pretty stoic, even during some of the best bits. Almost like they were on the clock or something.
It was so wholesome to see all of the elderly people having such a nice time. Plus this guy is hilarious and talented. Good video
You mean the people that were younger then, than our current president is today?
It was just too good...never to be replicated...amazing..
It took me a while to perfect the water juggling .... but I finally mastered it 😂👏👍
I'ver never seen Michael Ford, heard about Michael Ford, but he zoomed upwards in my favorite entertainment category.
Uh.....It's Michael Davis, at Ford's Theater. You know, the place where Abe Lincoln stole the show during a performance of " My American Cousin".
Truly one-of-a-kind. Fantastically HILARIOUS, with great skills and AMAZING delivery!!!!!
Love the comment “It’s my fault I picked you”😍😆😅
How have I ever missed this guy. Wow!!!! Hilarious comedian with unbelievable talent!

Awwww I love seeing Ronald and Nancy 😍❤️😍. What a great time!

Not quite sure how to take that..
It being hilarious has nothing to do with Ronald Reagan. He's still the devil
Saw this guy decades ago, opening act at Wolf Trap, Vienna VA..... Never could remember his name. He was such a wonderful entertainer. Deadpan of humor (reminding me of the Smother Brothers) combined with incredible juggling skills). Impeccable timing both verbally and with sight-gags and with juggling itself.
verbal timing? you mean talking?
Used to play at a busker festival, and guys like this were always the most popular. Jokes for 99% of the show, and like two or three impressive tricks.
People like a good laugh
That makes him comedian . One of the best . His best performance ever
I laughed out loud. Hilarious! It was fun to see Ron and Nancy enjoying it so much. Brought back good memories.
i can imagine eight-year-old michael davis, practicing juggling, learning a few jokes, probably by himself, in his room... thinking... maybe... one day... i can do this for real, and make people laugh. the years go by, and after innumerable hours of practice and developing material and delivery... and he is performing for the President of the United States. how well-deserved. thank you, Mr. Davis. you have truly earned everything you have achieved.
Can you imagine Security being so lax, these days?
How is it lax? You suppose someone works for a decade to become a famous comedian just in the faint hope he can get an axe within throwing distance of the President one day? It’s 1000 times more likely to infiltrate the Secret Service who carry actual guns within an arm’s length of the President.
Wow, whatever became of Michael Davis. He was so good, funny and obviously talented.
This was fantastic. Good old clean comedy. We need more of that, in the troubled times. Thanks for posting this.
I find Michael Davis is One of the best comedians ever, I discovered him on UA-cam because I was not even born while he was winning
A good one. But Tip was not shown much. A true story about Tip is due. Back in the early twenties my Dad Andy Callahan and Tip O.Neal were school chums. Tip in his early years drove truck in Cambridge and Brighton. They parted company when Tip started to go to College In Bostons Colleges Facilities in Brighton. I only met him one time many years ago in the mid thirties and the family album had a photo of him in a Packard Convertible taken about the middle of the 1930's.
Richard Callahan that’s cuz this isn’t a video a out tip.
2023, and the first time I have seen this man.
He's brilliant!
One of my favorites, President Reagan & Nancy. Awh it was nice seeing them laughing.
Reagan....a total mess
...it sure is!
I just found this guy off a TikTok and am I glad to of come across him what an incredibly sharp hilarious and talented guy ! 😂
Love how he had to count his fingers after the axe tossing
I like this slightly extended version... Thanks!!
It was delightful to watch Ronald Reagan's reaction throughout. What a genuine, down to earth man.
I love this performance. One of my very favorites. So glad it's posted. Thank you for sharing.
Those were such happy and civilized days.
Just wonderful.
Incredible performance
This guy is HYSTERICAL! GREAT to have a morning wake up laugh!!!!! Had Tip O'Neill and REAGAN in stitches!!!!!
What a legend. There is a spectrum of goodness that ranges from Michael Davis to Ronald Reagan, and as such the atmosphere in the room feels adjacent to a solar eclipse.
If you have a keen eye like mine, you'll notice that he bit into the egg.
+Jonathan Wood I get what you're saying, but, he was supposed to, though, as if it were the apple, but got the wrong one.
It would, appear as though you have, an even kee, ner, eye than this Jonathan, Wood, fellow,
Did anyone with a keen eye notice that Jonathan Wood just trolled y'all...and you fell for it? LOL
I noticed! Give me a cookie!
This comment was supposed to be a sarcasm but people doesn't seem to get it.
This guy is great. He has to be so spot-on in just about every second of the performance, just that is worth an award.
um...They give awards to juggling comedians, don't they?
...razor sharp bowling ball 😂
Doesn't it make you yearn for a simpler time, when we could actually laugh with each other and one another, and no one was offended or upended??? Sad. Those really were the days...
Regan's reactions are half the show
Ronnie and Namcy really loved this. Great entertainment we don't see these days.
but you just did
Too funny. This is the 5th time that I watched this and I still laugh.
Beautiful clean performance and great audience 😊
This is great to see there humor back then and it still has me in tears 😆
The Master. My dad also juggled. I never could get the hang of it .. yrs of free lessons, but good times together.
Fantastic! You don't see nice, clean humor like that anymore.
What a priviledge it was to see a Master like this showcase his skill.

Miss the days when people were entertaining and intelligent!
Genius!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏
Can you imagine how scared and nervous the Secret Service must have been with all those weapons that close to the president? This guy must have filled out a waiver and then some just in case something happened to Mr. President
Pretty sure he’s smart enough to know that, waiver or not, the secret service was going to seriously wreck his day if he started tossing sharp objects at the president … but yeah, they still probably asked him not to do so. ;)
It's amazing even to just watch his hands when he's juggling. The exact same motion on repeat!
