called zero jaedong xD
A few times
A few times :)!
called Flash jaedong as well!
lmao
.
what I find interesting is that in the end game flash apm were increasing to almost 400 while zero's were actually plummeting below 200. LIke it's not just a matter of strategy and skill, but endurance too. Zero was exhausted after 40 minutes, while flash had still the energy to pump like a beast. that guy's simply beyond human.
man terran music never gets old. No matter how often I hear it, I can replay it over and over again! Great match.
That keyboard solo omg 😩👌
I will agreed with you 23 years back.
It’s April 2020. I’m on a Falcon binge.
Demian Terentev I’m always on a falcon binge.
a much YOUNGER sounding Falcon, in the earlier ones, lol.
11:10 can't imagine how terrifying this situation if it's happen in real life lol
One of the most epic StarCraft matches I've seen.
Happy you enjoyed it. :D
Both of those players are absolutely crazy, such a good game.
No kidding!
Absolutely glorious. I've been watching SC games for a decade, this goes into my top 5.
Which game is top 1? :D
@@tuannguyenhuy4615 Not sure, too many matches to remember xD
amazing game... what zero can hold is crazy. i mean non stop action is just ridiculous. thank you so much for this cast. great job jeadong 👌 :D
Absolutely deserves the epic tag. Epic game. Epic cast. Enjoyed it immensely.
Glad you liked it! :)
Hey man, you're doing great! You're learning a lot! Unusual game with the Valkyries instead of Vessels!
Wall-offs in this game are very complicated. Unlike in SC2, each building has its own profile and is a certain amount of pixels. You can have situations where you build what looks to be a full wall-off but it actually has like 3 holes in it that zealots can run through, for no reason. Each unit is also a different size - Ghosts, the smallest unit in the game, can run through a great many things (though they're never used).
He was moving his barracks up and down to get the marines back inside the base, he may have had a full wall-off so they were stuck outside and thus vulnerable to Zerglings.
I don't think this is actually Circuit Breakers? Not sure what map it is, but I do really like this map, it looks cool.
Expanding in this game is very different than SC2. You'll notice that Flash doesn't move outside of his base at all until he has sufficient defense for Mutalisks and gets Stim done. Unlike in SC2 which is like two sumo wrestlers constantly pushing on each other, BW is more of a big see-saw, where at certain points of the game, either Terran or Zerg gets to put massive amounts of pressure on the other, and the other is just helpless until they get a certain unit out (Mutalisks, Science Vessels, Defilers, Siege Tanks, etc etc). This makes hiding expansions especially effective, as it's easy to sneak a base when your opponent isn't free to move out for long periods of time!
Anyways, great cast, man. You're putting in work, and it'll pay off in the end.
Was just about to type something like this!
Yeah if you have a wall of supply depots vertically ghosts wont be able to go through but have it horizontally then, they can easily. Apples to sunks and cannons as well
The map is Electric Circuit (original version, not Neo Electric Circuit).
Ross Erickson think this is escalde
This is an excellent comment
This is one heck of an endurance match! Flash is consistently at 300 APM. That is insane.
I start feeling arthritis at 150 APM. His girl must love his fingering skills
It terrified me to think what would these guys do if they were real generals facing each other during ancient time.
lmao
MInh Ha Better hope your not on a bike
It would be starship troopers
Great game. Thanks for showing the stats, I was interested to see them, too. Splash damage accounts for Flashes killed/lost discrepancy - apparently, almost 30% of Flashes losses were due to friendly fire. As for Zero losing more than Flash killed, that's Scourges.
probably consume for the defiler
love watching chaotic game like this
That back and forth on the north base was insane and such a scrappy game. Amazing stuff Falcon!
Yes it was!
I love how you still take time every once in awhile to appreciate the small details in this remaster
Figured id revisit one of my favorite all time TvZ matches. Also fun to see how much progress Falcon has made in those 5 short years! Also the fact that the observer in this game has 49 apm on average to keep up with everything shows how intense this match was
This is the glory of fast paced rts
Zero was known as "the Queen's man". There's often an odd queen or even a legion of them in his games. It's like his signature move. There was an old map, I think it was called holy ground. Where there is a neutral command centre. He sometimes infest it and use it against protoss to good effect.
The music volume level is spot on.
I am watching this from the future and I just wanted to point out how different you sound now than you did back when this video was made. Not a bad thing, just noticeable. Can’t wait to see from the far future.
Amazing how pros can handle multiple battles at the same time.
best Zerg play I've ever seen
The Ultralisks are extremely powerful creatures.
I love how they smash the tanks. Almost always great games on your channel! I love to watch.
Flash is the best Terran player I’ve ever watched. I love his use of mech in TvZ so much.
Omg, that infested cc play! Great commentary btw, casting games this length solo takes quite a skill, and your knowledge of the game is great.
Been fun reminiscing about old metas and great games from back in the day.
Keep up the great work!
I love those pre purchase command centers/hive/nexus
Man I love watching your old videos, your voice has gotten deeper with time, and you have developed more of your own style (like your greeting at the intro. I love it and I know all of your subscribers also love it :) )
Thank you again, Falcon Paladin, you're epic yourself!
Yeah, I was trying to be another caster for a while, but now I've found my own voice, I think. :) Thank you!
insane unit control by Flash so goood
That was the best game I've seen in really quite a while. The micro in that meat-grinder was intense.
TOTAL CHAOS of a match, haha, crazy!
i read a comment on another video about flesh playing tanks and vulchers but this was ridiculous, the fight on this game was awesome, i was barley keeping up with the details, just swaring, nice game, Tank you falcon , on to another
I love Star craft 1, and love your videos.
36:34 - beautiful synchronized KABOOM !
One of the best games I ever watched ,thank you for your upload ! like your commentary by the way.
Thank you, Alexandru!
this game brings me back to the time when there is no sc2, great battle
Happy you enjoyed it. :)
Amazing control.
such a great game - good job!
Thank you Paladin! 👍👍
You got it, Christian!
Insane game! This absolutely deserves the epic tag!
With all of the things happening, there was maybe one point in the game where Z had a chance of winning, the rest was pretty one-sided. T always had spare bases and production up, the last 20 minutes or so was just a question of how long Z can hold out without slipping up with dark swarms.
Maybe, but for a "normal" gamer its still isnane to see how he keeps up his advantage because zerg can easily get outer hand even whith the back agianst the wall if he made some msitakes.
Purple did quite a lot of stalwart defenses especially at that 11/12 o'clock base.
This was awesome! Thanks, FP!
Yep! Thanks for watching!
Finally a game with a little bit of variation and great commentary!
Please let's never let this game die....
Still not dead!
man, its like watching a movie yo! hahaha nice! this brought me more than just great memories! bought me great appreciation as well!! great job sir!!
Thanks, Brian!
I watched the whole thing. Keep it up
@ ~37:30 there was an infested terran on the production tab. If you can find the point where he spots the infested landed right next to the regular CC, it's shortly afterward. Pretty sure he used it to bomb SCVs. I know you're always looking for infested terrans in pro matches so re-watch if you wanna see. I'd put money on it, cuz the production tab showed it finishing and I'm pretty sure there wasn't any tanks around.
PS: I know you can't catch everything. and x10 for a game like this one. But' you've got the replay so I figured I'd point it out b/c you always say you wanna see it in pro. It jumped out at me cuz I came from another of your casts where Sea got his CC infested by Hero and it got wiped while making an IT. So what I'm trying to say is: not throwing salt, great cast and thankful we get to see the game we love played at such a high lvl! But re-watch it. I'd put my life savings on it :)
you missed two epic moments of a queen infesting two terran command centers around 33:00 and 33:30 in the game. You can see it on the minimap as it happens.
Yessss, another Brood War commentary!!
I don't think this is electric circuit but hey A VERY GOOD GAME
Zerg needs a lot of bases in the late game to mine gas because their big units (ultralisks and defilers) cost a lot of gas. Zero runs out of gas at around 32:00 minutes, and then he can't defend his top left bases.
Crazy match, battles everywhere indeed, never see this in SC2
Several pointers.
1) There are many maps that use shallow mineral fields (
pretty good cast tbh
Hands down the best broodwar game ive ever watched
craziest game I have ever seen @@. This game is absolutely epic.
thanks for these videos!
You're very welcome. :)
I'm hoping you'll start casting more of these brood war episodes in the future. I personally like brood war and the battles in it more than SC2 so this is what I watch from your channel.
fantastic game. i think brood war is much more of prolonged arm wrestle, whereas sc2 can be more deathball vs deathball. this style of game i find much more entertaining
This was the best Brood War game that I've ever seen! If you are checking out the comments to make up your mind about watching this... definitely watch this game!
6:40 Actually, medics are what made Mutas manageable in TvZ, Valks are situational and until recently weren't used at all. On paper, they are a fatter version of the Corsair, but in reality they are much worse. The main problem with Valks is that each rocket counts towards the total sprite limit of the engine, meaning that if there are many units on the map, they will simply not fire at all (pretty sure this wasn't fixed in Remastered, since the two versions are compatible). 12 Corsairs will melt a Muta flock in seconds, but 12 Valks will just stand there like morons and die. This is why you still only see them in the early game to facilitate a mech opening. Aside from the engine limitations, Valks are difficult to micro, especially with Scourge around, because they stand still until all 3 "waves" of missiles are fired. Korean pros have only recently learned how to properly micro Valks vs Muta, using hit n run tactics (afaik, they use the patrol command while the Valk is moving away from the Mutas and Scourge, letting the momentum carry them out of range while they bukkakke the flock with missiles). It's amazing when you think about it, after the game was out for almost 20 years, people developed a new micro technique that in turn allowed them to use a new build order (fast exp into 1-1-1 or 5 rax mech). BW is amazing.
(off topic) Sry if i spam your comments too much. Don't take anything I say as negativity, I love your commentary and enthusiasm.
Nah, thanks for the insight into BW. I appreciate it. :)
It's like CholeraSC but in 2018, nice job man
Thanks, dude. :)
consumed units are counted as lost
Good to know! Thank you!
Re: When Flash lifts his barracks around the 3:00 mark. First time was because the marine spawned outside the wall so he lifted to bring the marine inside. Second time was to bring the SCV inside.
Dear Lord that was epic!
Probably my favorite game ive ever seen on this channel. And thats saying something cause everyone knows i root for the swarm. Truely epic. Great game and cast.
Glad you enjoyed it! Crazy match.
41:41 when the last patch of water sips down the sink
Zerg should pay more attention to vultures sneaking into base to kill drones. Plus more drones are needed for efficient mining!
38:09 That repeat ultra drop snipe of the Mines is some superb micro rivalling a Protoss player's Shuttle drop micro. Really emblematic of this intense game
Crazy game for sure. :)
LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL GHODZ!!!
"Oh there's a plague, that's new."
Well it was basically Year 2 of the Great War by that point, plagues are common in those conditions! Also somehow I just discovered this channel and it's awesome.
Haha yeah, metas evolve. :) Thanks for nice words!
Consumed his own lurker 18:51
Very entertaining :)!
Im so curious to see what that infested terran ended up doing. One was certainly produced.
Very good
I thought this was an older replay. Some of the commenters are rather critical, but as you've pointed out elsewhere you're casting this by yourself and you're just going to miss some things, especially in a long intense match like this. I think you do great! :-D
At 3:40: Flash pioneers the Barracks Exercise Program.
A few people mention the Infested Command Centers, but I checked to see if they mentioned... at 36:54 on the game timer (start watching at 36:48 on the UA-cam video) Zero actually starts producing an infested Terran! It's in the production tab, right after you told Zero to make one. :-) We don't see it but presumably when it pops it tries to blow up some SCVs. Live for the Swarm!!
out of breath just watching amazing game!!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Love the nicknames.
epic match
That was some trench warfare going on at the top right lol
28:08 Flash's been going at that base for a while. Isn't it better to just destroy the Nydus Canal? Sincere question, since I"m a noob and he's a pro.
AlexTechie That’s what i was thinking too. If he had rushed the canal it could have saved him at least two tank squads. By drawing out the battle he let Zerglings and ultras reinforce the hive
The reason he didn’t just straight up obliterate zero is for let’s call it “professional curtesy” yes flash could have killed the nydas and been done but beating an opponent so quickly and easily especially on a professional level makes for poor gaming later on. Flash had the potential to win every game he every played but if he did that he would have zero challengers and would not be invited to blizzcon and all that stuff. So. In short. It was to allow zero to maintain a fighting chance.
@@airbornepsyco341 so there's actually a thing of being too good that you're not allowed to join an event where you're good at?
@justin no there isn’t but if you are always winning no ones gonna wanna play that’s all I’m saying.
That 11 o’clock field of blood and burned steel!
Friggin' epic
I think that's four time Zero was Jaedong, though you caught yourself one of the times. Not blaming you though, they are both excellent players. Good game indeed, and thanks for the cast :)
The amount of action missed (namely ZerO attacking FlaSh's bases) here was a damn shame. :(
There was a Lurker drop at 8 o'clock, with ling ultra moving in to force a lift on the 9 o'clock and the cleaning up SCVs retreating from 8 o'clock. Those zerglings and ultralisks then moved north to flank the mech army and help defend Zero's bases that were pretty much the only thing being shown for ages.
Later, a queen spawned, ZerO used...something...to damage the 9 o'clock base again and then infested the CC. The queen the flies almost immediately over to 3 o'clock to infest that CC that was damaged earlier, succeeds. We see none of this. The queen then parasites a tank (at ~3 range instead of the 12 the ability has :P), which we do see. Falcon Paladin the proceeds to think that the infested CC he sees landed later at 3 o'clock is somehow the now moved ~9 o'clock despite not a lot of time passing for it to fly over there, then clicks to where the (ex-9 o'clock) infested CC is (closer to 8 o'clock position but more to the east) and makes no note whatsoever the obvious impossibility that the same infested CC has now immediately teleported from 3 to east of 8, or even the existence of the infested CC...on screen. o.o (or you made no mention of "huh another was infested".) Once one is in the game, any more is just same ol' same ol', I guess?
Both bases in the bottom left taken out, nice positioning for the tanks, but don't worry about those lings streaming towards them nor the purple wave that follows them on the minimap, that's not worth watching. Let's just exclusively watch FlaSh try to micro vultures against lurkers and sunken colonies instead. ¯\_(シ)_/¯
Wow! Look at all these units coming out of the nydus! Oh yeah I suppose there's some Dark Swarm down there and the tanks have gone for some reason, I guess ZerO cleaned that up somehow but whatever, I'm sure it wasn't worth watching. ¯l_(o-o)_l¯
It was still exciting, but I think we missed 60+% of what was in the action packed parts of the game. It's also nice to see the macro once in a while (check Zero's/FlaSh's base to see what's popping out or waiting around). Even if we can potentially see it in the production tab, it's good to see it on screen and see where it is located once it is made.
Well, this was somewhat fun to write, so I suppose that partly makes up for the missed action. ;-D
Absolutely agree! Everyone loves Falcon Paladin yet here I am trying so hard to enjoy anything from his videos but I just simply can't because of his lack of knowledge and a very poor camera. Why do people like this so much? This guy is useless.
Gnarly dude, totally !
Total classic
Around 37:30 zero makes an infested Terran. Looks like it might have gotten a few worked kills. Might be a good opportunity to do a UA-cam short of that moment.
BROOD WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2021 broodwar binge!!
Was this a practice game? How did you get the replay? There doesn't seem to be a record of an official game between Zero and Flash on Electric Circuit.
Epic game!
Flash really didn't have too many goliaths in the middle/late game. Could Zero have done a quick mutalisk switch to destroy those tanks and vultures? Or am I missing something>?
flash wasn't tank heavy till like at least 20 minutes in. By then, zero has upgraded his ground close to 3/3. Probably not a good idea to then make air that isn't upgraded facing goliaths with good ups. I think he's just committed to far with defilers/lurker/ultra, he missed the window to switch to muta. He also lost his spire so that would have had to been re-made. Also he wanted nydus play to save his top left base.
Well he didn't need to switch completely, a group of mutas around 25 min mark would have melted the tanks with some helping plagues and when goliaths pop up against them, just go on with your ground units... Better facing 5 tanks and goliaths instead of 16 tanks and vultures
okay so, the zerg at one point has guardians, zerglings, lurkers. None of which shoot air. Why doesnt the terran go air?
Epic
:P the speaker is just overwhelmed by the action :P
So overwhelmed. :D
That was a great game. I really feel like Zerg is the weakest of all 3 races at the top level
okay, I know we didn't see any battlecruisers because plague (I hate consume even more than I hate viper's version of it) but why no wraiths? they do the same job as the mutalisk hit squad and provide excellent anti-air and overlord denial and it's not like protoss or terran where there is a ground unit that is explicitly amazing at killing them. they even made valkyries which are more expensive and worse at everything but that mutalisk ball.
perfect
Interesting match. Valk opening was pretty different definetly threw off zero in the mid game especially with some good trades. Nice to see the queen play but too few and way too late. They were definetly needed in the battle in the top left corner. Broodlings cause tanks to fire on each if you don't command stop fire and they cause spider mines too splash your tanks. Feel zero could have done better with map control. Can't let terrans just keep their buildings park floated in the center of the map gives away to much information as to troop movement.
