I’ve always interpreted the Martha scene as less of the name actually meaning anything and more that Batman realizes that he’s about to murder someone who wants nothing more than for his mom to be safe. The spear he’s holding has become the gun that killed his parents, and he realizes that he’s no better than the man who killed his parents. It’s super rushed and needed to be fleshed out more but I’ve always liked the attempt.
its about how bruce turned him into a monster not capable of the same emotions he would have towards his own mother each character has problems with parents while bruce and clark deal with loss lex deals with abuse and outright neglect "write checks for lex" his father used him to leverage power... just as lex grows up and uses everyone...Bruces dad died fighting the criminal who killed him... so Bruce fights criminals... Clarks dad dies going head first into danger... so does clark
Yeah the name is more of a self realization trigger. "OMG I'm Joe chill!" And the role reversal from his view of his calling forced him to rapidly reverse his mental de-humanization of Superman. You can see it on his face. He only rationalized this murder because killing a monster that might destroy the world isn't murder. Now it's all recalibrated. He offers to help save Martha, not because they're best friends now, lol, but because via the thematic role reversal his ENTIRE CAREER has been symbolically trying to save Martha, and now he CAN. He's saving himself from his dark errors by saving Martha. Batman is redeeming himself.
Exactly, people who want to find problems with the movie look at it as they are friends all of a sudden which is stupid. Like you said he simply said jt at the moment In consideration to Superman’s mom.
@@VColossalV it’s a movie or do you also believe in the toof fairy? The movie would be 4 hours long if every nit pick was explained for 15 minutes. Common sense would tell you that during the cut scene they explained things to Batman, that’s why when the scene resumes Superman says he has to get to his mother. No further explanation because they told him already. Anyway doesn’t matter cuz people love to hate and tear other people down so you can believe what you want
Yep: Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, and then Peacemaker.
To answer your question about Lex, he’s actually based on the version introduced in the comic Superman: Birthright where Lex is younger, has long orange hair and is a lot more twitchy. Eisenbergs portrayal is essentially “what if the smartest man in the world was unable to run his brain off”. they spoke about it more in the behind the scenes of the film
He was also a play on the plethora of entitled billionaire millennial geniuses we’ve been getting more and more of lately (Zuckerberg). So who better to play it than someone who’s already played it masterfully before?
Actually its goes back to lex luthor roots. He always been mad scientist in golden age era comic. They changed his character into businessman in silver age because fawcett comic copying lex luthor by creating Dr sivana as mad scientist. Birthright comic is canon which means for superman storyline is still from post crisis era unlike the rest of the league
thank you for this explanation. It's not my favorite version of Lex. That would be Lex Luthor from Young Justice. This Lex just didn't feel right to me. Personal opinion. He had his moments though. "If God is all powerful, he cannot be All Good". The way he delivered that line was really good.
He may share visual similarities with Birthright Lex but personality wise the two are completely different with the exception of his obsession toward discrediting Superman
So my understanding of Bruce in this movie was he became cruel after Joker killed Robin. I also may be misremembering, but i thought Snyder said Dick Grayson was the Robin killed. As for Batman going completely nuts over Superman without proper research, he saw the absolute devastation that Zod and Superman's fight delivered to Metropolis. From Bruce's perspective on the ground, he just saw 2 alien beings leveling a city with no regard for innocent lives. Bruce just saw them fight and then saw the aftermath and that pushed him beyond even his limits of reason.
He did his research. Did you miss when he tells Alfred "20 years in Gotham, how many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?" and "If there's a 1% chance he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty"? He knows what Supes been doing. He just didn't have faith in him for valid reasons. And the strange dream also adds to his fears. "If he wanted he could burn the whole place down" Flash also telling him "You've always been right about him"
There have been several versions of Lex like this. A man that sees everything, his brain never shutting off, too smart for his own good. Anyone living like that, being forced to live like that would be enough to drive anyone mad. Glad you enjoyed Ben Affleck as Batman, part of me wished we would have gotten the Batman in Arkham movie that was to have starred Ben. I think it would have been epic.
I understand what they were going for and I like Jesse Eisenberg as an actor, but my brain just couldn’t wrap itself around him as Lex Luthor. I really tried, but it just didn’t work for me.
I just wish her dislike for the iteration of Lex didn't lead to talking through all his scenes. She says she doesn't understand his motivation, and i'm sure that contributed to why
It’s all in Ben’s face and eyes. When he learns Martha is also Clark’s mothers name it makes Clark human and he realizes he has become everything he’s fought against for twenty years
I think the Martha thing is best explained that, if you recall, he referred to Superman as “an alien” or “not even a man” throughout the movie and that moment simply humanized Superman and broke Bruce from his fever dream
This batman is one of the most darkest. Full of hate, anger and uncofidence. Veteran almost 20 years so it's logical that to see the presence and destruction that Superman makes indirectly to save the world (he don't see that) thinks that it's an enemy. To see him like a human, who loves and has a family, a mother, turned to be the real batman that has to be through the beginning of his life has a hero. Superman's death makes Batman returns again.
I just don't get why when Batman says "I'm a fried of your son's", they take it to mean he was being literal. I always took it as playful banter. As for the Martha scene. ALL Batman movies prior focused on Bruce's relationship with his father, especially Batman Forever and Batman Begins. This movie from the onset focused on Bruce's relationship with his mother - Martha. So when the Martha scene happened, it was not weird to me. I was like OMG Superman's mother's name is Martha as well. Batman's sudden change of heart I took to mean that he was going to kill someone who had a mother, a mother who's name is Martha, just like his, just like his mother was taken from him. At that moment he realized he was becoming the person he swore to stop
Exactly. English isn't my first language and I seem smarter than these Anglophone Americans. Yeah "friend" means an ally, someone supportive of the same cause, of favorable disposition. That's where the adjective "friendly" comes from. Also people ignore this line "Martha won't die tonight"....he wasn't referring specifically to Martha Kent but the Martha symbolizing both her and his mother. When Superman tells him "You're letting him kill Martha" he feels he let Martha die that night even though he was just a defenseless boy. That very "guilt" was what drove him to become Batman...to seek vengeance upon criminals. He starts screaming because his weakness his trauma his PTSD was unintentionally being attacked by Superman's words.
I always felt that if you're a scary guy dressed as a bat and you just rescued a woman from an emotionally trying life threatening situation, then you probably realize you have to do something to alleviate stress. So, you know this woman has a son who does this sort of hero thing all the time. Snap choice is to simplify everything by saying "I'm a friend of your son." It kind of perfectly explains why you are there, and maybe even sounds tongue and cheek enough to distract Martha from the fact that she almost just died.
People forget that Bruce is a highly traumatized person with serious psychological issues. The fact that him getting another chance to save Martha, whom he immediately conflates with his own mother, immediately makes him view Superman as an ally through Martha, makes total sense. Just the mere mention of his mother's name takes him back to that alley. He becomes an impressionable kid again.
Exactly my man exactly. I just don't understand why is it so difficult for Americans to understand such stuff when people around the world whose second language isn't even English or didn't grow up watching Hollywood movies understood them.
Ikr, I watched BvS in theaters and I found the scene heart touching, but when I arrived home and checked the social media, people were mocking the scene and making memes about it, I was like "What the?"
you have to remember that alot of youtuber reactors and general population arent thesis writers or in general understand most movies unless its being shoved right in their face. like look at fight club and how its became a "sigma" thing yet its actual commentary is the exact opposite.
The Ultimate cut adds so much over the theatrical cut. I remember a lot of people not even understanding the theatrical cut as much of Lex's plans and set- ups were left out (or rather off screen). It also made Superman appear as much more of a villain, while Batman was the good guy. In the Ultimate cut it's more or less the reverse.
The Ultimate Cut wasn't needed to explain anything, people could have easily figured out Lex's plans/set ups themselves by thinking critically and paying attention to the details.
Hot take: I really love this Lex Luthor portrayal. I get it's not comic accurate (at least, not to main continuity Lex) but it's so well done for what it's trying to do. This version of Lex is stunted. His trauma has completely overtaken him to the point where he's bitter, angry, and alone. He views the world as owing him because no one did anything to protect him from the abuse he experienced in his childhood. He subsequently morphs that into a hatred of anyone or anything that has power over him. Which I feel embodies Lex Luthor to a tee.
About the xenophobia that you picked up on, it was a very heavy inspiration for this movie. The writers wanted to base this on the post 9/11 state of America. Batman’s trauma and PTSD from the metropolis destruction led him into a state of paranoia. It’s why Batman even more than lex is the villain of this movie. He’s killing people, acting reckless, and the writers saw the xenophobia that sprouted as a result of 9/11 and projected that onto Batman. It’s what Alfred was talking about with “the fever, the rage the feeling of powerlessness; It turns good men cruel.” Batman was so shaken that he turned into someone who was no better than Joe Chill. He’s dehumanizing Superman, doing this weird hyper violent branding and doesn’t care about who dies in his warpath even though believing in the humanity of others and believing in redemption is a core aspect of who Batman is. It’s only when he realizes that he’s about to condemn superman’s mom to death in the same way that his mom died that he realizes that he’s become a monster.
@@abrahamkoffi9922 Superman killed one person. Zod. And he didn’t want to. He saved the entire world he by definition did not kill those people. Killing criminals is still wrong.
Superman always dies fighting Doomsday, he's known as "the monster who killed Superman". Back in the day when a comic called "The death of Superman" was published, DC comics went dark on Superman making many believe that they weren't going to make any more Superman comics, and that sparked a nationwide outcry from comic book fans "bring Superman back", it was basically a whole "you don't know what you have until it's gone" thing.
@@Wolfhunter5607 When he said that, "The real Doomsday is out there somewhere." I felt it wasn't needed. The Doomsday we are accustomed to with the bones protruding from his body, is a "seasoned" Doomsday. Doomsday wasn't born looking like that, that's his evolutionary look from "dying" and being "reborn" so many times. While getting more powerful each time. So, the "Doomsday" in this movie could very well be the real Doomsday. It just hasn't "powered" up by dying and coming back to life a bunch of times. They could have easily brought back Doomsday in a future movie. For example, they could have had an end credit scene in BvS where they decided to dispose the body by shooting it out into space because they learn the body can't decay and they didn't want it staying on Earth. the final scene would be a shot of a capsule with the supposed dead body, but we hear the heart start beating again. Let's pretend DCEU was successful, they could have brought back Doomsday in a future movie, looking like the Doomsday we know. The explanation would be, he has been fighting and powering up this entire time traveling through the Universe, and he somehow found his way back to Earth to get revenge on Superman.
@@jenniferhamels1176 lmao don’t give them any credit. they didn’t know what they were doing fr. i thought doomsday goes around killing before he finds himself on earth then kills superman. this lex and zod baby was bs
please tell me this is the extended cut, as that version helps you understand some of the things going on with lexs plan while the normal version cuts alot of that out
However Jesse Eisenberg was originally cast and hired to play Jimmy Olsen but Zack Snyder thought it would be funny to unalive Jimmy in the first act of this movie so he recast Jesse Eisenberg as lex luthor Jr. yes that is actually true he was supposed to be Jimmy Olsen not Lex Luthor but Zack Snyder doesn’t actually like superman comics.
Lmao also a thing i associate with how quick Bruce and Clark got along good after the "almost killing you" thing, sure theres ALOT of context in between, but also its just a guy thing 🤷👏😂 We can squash beef and be bros all within the span of few minutes, so its just something i knew from experience so i went with it lol Sorry but women tend to hold hella grudges for a loooong time 😅 ALSO Yes Superman/Clark Kent died.
Ngl I actually thought of this after I finished the movie. As someone who has babysat boys, it's just fundamentally true that wrestling/fighting it out will process the conflict better 🤣🤣
Fun fact Jesse Eisenberg was originally cast and hired to play Jimmy Olsen but Zack Snyder thought it would be funny to unalive Jimmy in the first act of this movie (ya the cameraman who is unalived in the beginning of this movie was Jimmy Olsen) so he recast Jesse Eisenberg as lex luthor Jr. also there is a grave stone beside and behind the Wayne crypt that is Richard Grayson’s tombstone (if you read it he died before even the Wayne’s did so no Richard Grayson was not the Robin Bruce lost in this canon, Dick Grayson was never Robin or Nightwing in this universe) because Zack Snyder thought that would also be funny he has confirmed it in interviews.
"Batman and Superman should have a coffee." You know, I thought the same thing. Maybe that's... **puts shades on** How It Should Have Ended. (If you know, you know. Lol)
I love Jessie's Lex, personally. He's just as confident and scheming, but his personal flaws are presented much more on the surface. It's a fun take on the character.
As a dc fan, even before I knew I was a DC fan. I grew up watching DC as a kid. Now in 2021 I found out DC has live action movies and I never seened one before (or any superhero movies). First time watching bvs. It was like, well it’s my number 1 best film of all time. And lex Luther is what makes this top tier. I always thought this was such a Luther way character. I never questioned the character in my first watch. I just knew he was lex and he acted lex in the most best insane and movie length to prove that he was lex, and acted much as a lex.
A lot of people think Bruce spared Clark cause their mom’s have the same name. That was what snapped him out of his mania. It was the fact that this so called evil god, his last words weren’t for mercy, but to save someone else. You can even see Affleck dart his eyes around as he’s thinking, like, “Ohhh godammit I’ve been played”
Exactly my thoughts, I find it odd that particularly with this scene most audiences need their hands held to come our conclusion/Snyder’s conclusion. Alfred’s banter throughout the movie is telling the audience that Bruce has lost his way.
Its a beautiful scene but i cant blame the regular movie goer if they dont get it. I agree with those who said it could be fleshed out more but dammit!!! I absolutely adore this work of art....with all its flaws
@@xPogiifyThe writing wasn’t great, but it doesn’t change the fact that Bruce’s mindset had been alluded to throughout the film. If viewers didn’t pick up on it, that’s not on the screenwriters, that’s on the viewers.
I had one of the best movie experiences of my life the second time I watched this. I watched it once, though it was ok, liked the same things and had the same issues with it as you. About a year later it was on tv one afternoon and I put it on with my wife there. I figured she would have the same reaction as me, I hadn't pushed her to see it before then which I would've if I thought it was a great movie. The thing about my wife and movies is that she doesn't do spoilers. None. Doesn't watch trailers or ads or read anything. She wants to go into a movie knowing nothing. So we're watching most of it and she's thinking it's ok, just like me. We get to the scene where Bruce sees the picture of Diana in WW1 and my wife turns to me with an astonished face and says "Is that Wonder Woman?". And tears start streaming down her face. After years of watching and enjoying all the MCU and DC movies her favorite female hero from her childhood was finally on the screen and she cried. A lot. It was a powerful moment and I'm tearing up just writing about it now. Representation in films matters.
Representation? Is your mother Amazonian? Wonder Woman has been around since 1941, she's been in countless tv shows, both cartoon and live action over the decades. DC animated films has made several movies starring her, including multiple solo movies. There is no need to make it about representation, all it was, is that your mother was happy to see a character that she loved since childhood, you made it into a contrite compartmentalization.
@@jlhanlon1980 wow, you just throw your ignorance out on display without giving one second of thought to how other people see things. The representation took place when my wife was a child in the 1970s and the only mainstream female superhero was Wonder Woman. WW had the live action tv show, appearances on the Superfriends cartoon and her comic. She was pretty much the only mainstream female superhero representation at that time and that is why most women of that age grew a strong bond with her. Then, for almost 40 years there was no mainstream manifestation of her, certainly no movie appearances, maybe a few cartoons that most people didn’t watch, while Batman, Superman & Spider-Man piled up multiple tv series and movie franchises. Every other modern appearance of WW you named happened after BvsS, so that movie was the first time in 40 years that the women who saw themselves represented by WW when they were children got to see her again, and the first time they ever saw her in a movie. I’m sure a lot of them felt the exact same way my wife did. I understand you just get triggered by certain words and you automatically feel like you have to attack the people who use them because the concept of representation in film doesn’t matter to you, but you need to understand that it does matter to other people and at least try to be respectful of that.
The Martha thing is wierd, but if you think about it it could mean, that now Bruce sees Superman as a man. HE has loved ones, HE cares about people, he's not just an alien, he's "more of a man Bruce never will be". When Lois says it's Superman's mother, Bruce sees Clark, a man, not an alien.
This is exactly right. Up to this point, Bruce has seen Kal as a monster which needs to be killed. He's obsessed, like Captain Ahab, to the point of irrational behaviour. Once he realises Kal is a person with a family, Bruce is able to throw off the obsession. "Moby Dick" is another subtext in the film. At one point Superman is thrown through a wall and leaves a whale shaped hole in the wall.
I think this would have worked really well If this version of Batman didn't kill. Bruce seeing clark as a man doesn't matter much when he is killing a bunch of other men in the movie, human life doesn't seem that precious to him
supermans fighting style is reactive he waits til something happens and saves the day. Batman is proactive he sees a threat and tries to prevent it. He could see that Superman could potentially destroy the world if he wanted to so he was a threat. even if he hadnt yet he could so he needed to eliminate the threat. Then once he realized Superman grew up with a mom on earth and could relate to his humanity. He no longer saw him as a threat to the world. So they have common groound and no beef they can be friends
I'm pretty sure she is watching the Ultimate Edition. At 37:31 of this video, they show Jena Malone's character from Star Labs; I believe her scenes were cut from the theatrical version.
I really don’t understand the hate for Jesse’s Lex. He played Birthright Lex perfectly. This is a perfect example of someone who has only been exposed to the “real estate tycoon” Lex and thinks he’s only supposed to be some monotone businessman.
I said that, too. And while she didn’t deserve some of the heat she got, some of the criticisms toward her were justified because she claimed “Superman was her religion” when clearly she doesn’t know all the versions and depictions of the Superman mythos. (Side note-people have to remember Joker isn’t the only psychotic DC villain.)
Ben Affleck Robin who died was Dick Grayson so his death hit harder then Jason Todd because with him losing Jason Todd he lost a partner. By Bruce losing Dick Grayson he lost son. Also after you watch The Batman series you should get into the Fox Gotham TV series it has the best interpretation of Batman villains in it I've ever seen. It also makes a good viewing prequel series to DC's Titans and the Doom Patrol series.
@@AllMachineAllChrome The New Batman movie that's in the works (The Brave & The Bold) was confirmed a while ago that it will be a Batman & Robin story.
26:29 Mark! Is that a reference to that animated cartoon show on "UA-cam" with CBM characters interacting at a coffee place during their time off between media appearances?! 🤔
Lex being all unhinged and wild is pretty on brand for the character. Although i do think there was a LOT of Riddler influence here, it wasn't that far off for how some versions of him are. Also on Batman, virtually every scene talking to or about him is attempting to showcase how in the wrong he is about the whole situation and how jaded his past made him. If you felt uncomfortable or uneasy during his fight scenes, seeing him potentially kill or just not care how brutal he was, then the scenes did their job, showing that he hasnt been himself in years.
To be fair, Meg isn’t the only reactor who completely missed why Bruce felt the way he did or why he killed, or even why a portion of the world’s population does not trust or flat out fear Superman. A lot of them do.
The thing with Lex in this movie is that his whole life he was always in someone's shadow. Early in the movie it's established that he had daddy issues and always seeked his father's approval. Most likely Lex killed his own father to take over the company. Now that he is an adult and he has all this power, being a billionair and having an high intellect, he sees himself as a god. But suddenly all of it means nothing anymore by this alien who is literally powerful like a god. He resents Superman for getting more attention for it than Lex with all of his assets. Knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman and Lex seeing him as a rival as well (billionare and also very high intellect), he sets up this elaborate plan to pit Superman and Batman against each other in the hopes they kill each other, so Lex can become an unrivaled "god". I do agree that it's not everybody's cup of tea how Lex is portrayed in the movie, but as a villian I think he was brilliant in the movie. Especially the part where Lex showed the photos of Sup's mother and was able to get Superman on his knees in front of him, basically saying "See? Me, a human, made a god kneel. I'm the one who people should praise, not this alien". This meant everything to Lex.
I don’t like this movie. I’ve tried for 8 years now; and despite a lot of great things in this movie, it falls short of its potential. There’s so many plot holes and weird decisions made both by the characters, and the writers of the film. If you like this movie, I’m genuinely so happy for you, don’t let anyone (including me lol) take that away from you. However, the final question I leave you all with is, did Lex Luthor pee in that Senators drink? (My vote is yes)
Most, if not all of those so called "plotholes" can be explained by simply thinking critically and paying attention to the details given. There weren't that many weird decisions either.
They went for a Mark Zuckerberg/Elon Musk type Lex Luthor and it was a mistake. You had the perfect choice available which would have been Bryan Cranston. Jesse Eisenberg was a huge distraction the whole movie. As for Batman's animosity towards Superman, he blamed he for what happened during the Zod invasion and he feared the possibility of him deciding to be bad. He knew he was a "good guy" but he had concerns that that could change in the future. He mdae the calculation that he'd rather kill Superman than have a potentially evil Superman to deal with. Not the greatest premise, but that's what it was.
I have major issues with this movie but it’s a Batman and Superman movie there’s only so much I could possibly dislike it. I’m just glad Meg is finding more and more DC
4:54 Mark! "Weathering"?! Do you assemble model kits?! That's how I usually see and hear that term, which is in association with model kit building! 😉 If you read the paperwork, he is "Alexander Luthor", grandson of "Lionel Luthor" and son of "Lex Luthor"! Hey! If you get around to seeing Christopher's fourth movie, the actor from a Molly Ringwald movie in which his character is called "Duckie" and who plays "Allan" or "Allen" in the former "CBS" sitcom "Two and Half Men" , is Gene Hackman's "Lex Luthor" character's nephew! He goes on yo play "Lex Luthor" himself in the "Arrowverse" set of television series, especially in "Supergirl"! It's oddly funny because of the shared Multiverse aspect! 😆
What are you talking about, drawn out too long. They don’t know he’s alive. They don’t know Superman is hard to kill, they don’t know that he needs sunlight to heal. They freakin buried his ass. And Batman’s story is a redemption story. A hero that has become a bit too careless and has experienced so much loss. Now he fears that there’s a new level of evil that he may not be able to fight and it’s important to him that he finds a way to normalize this. Show this alien that men are not weak that we have the ability to control him if need be. Superman’s sacrifice shows Bruce what it truly means to be a hero again. He’s a different man in Justice league. Even his theme is different. I love this movie.
22:47 Mark! When I saw the movies in theaters, I thought that he looked familiar to me, but because he changed clothes, I didn't place him as one of the generals before! Now, will you be recognizing him? Hmm. 🤔
NoooOoooOoOOO you don’t understand the epic ness- Nah it’s alright. Glad you enjoyed the parts you did even if I’m gonna have to downgrade your Snydercult membership to entry level. ;) On ways! To … maybe Suicide squad, or else ZSJL!
I'm a relative new sub.. I first started watching your star wars reaction.. I love your reactions. I just wanted to say, don't listen to the haters. Your title was accurate. He is the perfect superman :D
6:15 Mark! Oh yeah! Ahem. "Batfleck" reminds me of when people used to ask me if I had seen the latest "Bat-Flick" or if I was going to go, and if so, could they go along! (When you're the one person with a car, you get that a lot!) 😅 Now I'm the one asking for rides. 😕
Lex Luthor that Eisenberg portrays is Lex Luthor JUNIOR Which can imply that Senior was the Luthor that we all know and love from the animated series and comics
Superman is my favorite superhero of all-time ever since Christopher Reeves. Not the o donner cut but the other one. I absolutely love this movie. I even like the cereal the had for the movie. Wonder Woman is my favorite female superhero. For me and the rest of the world. I love Gal Gadot.
Spoilers Free: I never really liked the structure of the DCEU. We should've gotten a Man of Steel 2 and a sole Batman film before Batman V Superman. Death in the Family would've made for a great movie showing the death of Dick Grayson and how Batman/Bruce handled the death giving off a very ragefully take on the character. This would be set years before Man of Steel when Batman was slightly younger but still the oldest we've seen him in film, around 35. Then we jump into Man of Steel 2 which would showcase Clark as the Superman we know and love and then we dive into a Batman vs Superman movie and Justice League. This Batman is heavily inspired by Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns from the shot of Bruce holding the machine gun to the death of Jason Todd (Dick Grayson who died in the DCEU) being a main plot of his rage and of course that amazing Battle suit that is pulled right out of the comic. His normal Batman as well it's very much inspired by The Dark Knight Returns and for me is just the best live action Bat suit we've seen so far love the textures and grey on Black. Of course not a one to one recreation of the comic but these few elements were pulled from this certain comic. Much prefer the Dark Knight Returns Animated film but I actually enjoyed Batman V Superman at least the longer cut of the film. Still didn't like Batman killing, Batman reaction to guns "“This is the weapon of the enemy, We do not need it. We will not use it.” also from The Dark Knight Returns. Batman did use a rifle like you saw in the animated film but it was used as like a grapple line did not fire any bullets. For Superman they pulled from The Death of Superman which is interesting, would've preferred more build up to this event instead, doesn't feel earned at all. Cool to see Doomsday in live action, even though this isnt the "actual" Doomsday according to Zack. But yeah this film would've been Civil War levels of amazing if they're was more build-up so we'd actually care about these characters. I do think Ben Affleck is a good Batman visually and in action but this movie did not do the character justice at all when we jump right into a version of Batman where he kills people instead of showcasing his fall into where he's at now. Love Zack Snyder's Justice League though and would recommend watching that in parts as it's very long. Overall it's a film that's grown on me but there's just much better depictions of Batman & Superman along with Gotham & Metropolis as well which basically look the same in this film, no contrast at all, hopefully James Gunn fixes this for his universe.
I don't get why they confirmed that it was Dick that died instead of Jason, which obviously would have made more sense. I also don't see why we needed a sequel to Man of Steel and a solo Batman movie before BvS. Characters don't need to have their own movies before the big team up movie.
13:32 Mark! Yes! Look at his signature! He's "Alexander Luthor" taking advantage of his father's legacy just as he did in the comics! In one of the alternate Earths "Alexander Luthor" is the Superhero ™️"!
I always really liked this movie. Is it perfect? Hell no! But it’s fantastically acted and brilliantly shot. Affleck is my second favorite live-action Bruce (behind Keaton), and Cavill is my second favorite Clark (behind Reeves). I love that Bruce is so angry not only cause of Man Of Steel, but this cleary takes place not long after Robin’s murder in “Death In The Family” I even kinda like Lex. Yes he’s technically the worst live-action Luthor we’ve gotten so far, but Jessie plays it well and he’s legitimately frightening at times. He’s much more of a psychopath like he was back in the 40s comics. He hates god cause he wants to be one himself. I just REALLY wish we could’ve gotten more of Mercy Graves, cause they got a great actress playing her
17:08 Mark! See there! "Alexander Luthor"! 🤓😮 Okay, to double-check myself, I just looked it up. What the Hell?! Now, according to the article, "Lex" is just his shortened name! Damn it! The comics that I read in the 1980s during the "Crisis On Infinite Earths" made them seem to be separate entities! Damn nicknames! en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lex_Luthor&action=edit§ion=0
5:35 Mark! "Jack" was the guy in the skyscraper that Bruce was talking to! The riderless horse evokes what happened during 9/11 when people encountered police horses without their riders. It is because of 9/11 that the disaster debris effects look like this in both movies. Otherwise, they might still look like they did in Disaster Genre movies made before 9/11. 🤔
Eisenberg's Lex has a lot of the classic Superman villains before Lex, the typical mad scientist that we can see even in Fleischer's shorts; in the next movie we can see what begins to take the shape of the Lex that most of us know. Batman tells Martha Kent that he is her son's friend because he can see that she is scared and tries to calm her down, not because they are already besties.
people never had patience nor the ability to give Snyder's story any chance. He was building a world, a univers ebut nope. People always say they want new stuff but when they get it they can't handle it and what all the old stuff
1:00:28 I think that considering he’s been Batman for 20 years and his Robin died, this was kind of a situation where Batman had his own redemption arc to get back to his true self. I feel like his lines and Alfred’s responses were a way to tell us that Batman isn’t supposed to do any of what he is doing, and he used to be a hero. It made me think it was more of a Batman movie more than anything. And yes, it’s a Dick Grayson Robin suit in this universe. Joker kills him and apparently Batman pummels Joker to the point that he needs new teeth, so in Suicide Squad, the Joker has like gold teeth or whatever because of it (not officially canon, just something Snyder said was background info).
47:52 Mark! Dormitory Supervisor: "Who ordered the two dozen hostiles?" Bruce Wayne: "Oh! Those are mine!" Delivery Driver: "That will be forty dollars, including sales tax and delivery charge, but not the gratuity." Bruce Wayne: "Did you bring the extra can of 'Whoop-Ass'?" Delivery Driver: "Yes, Sir! Here you go!" Bruce Wayne: "Thanks! Here's a Twenty! Don't spend it all in one place!" Delivery Driver: You're welcome! Thanks! Bye!" Dormitory Supervisor: "Are you going to share those with everyone in the lounge?" Bruce Wayne: "Uh, I didn't expect to do so. I thought that I would beat them all up by myself." Other Students: "Ew, he's going to beat them off, all alone!" 😂
The animated series had a much better take on Batman and Superman's first encounter in the multi-part episode World's Finest. That's more of what I wanted this movie to be. Also, further down the road is Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, based on the comic arc of the same name. That's a very fun team-up against Luthor. And Meg, you know Doomsday from Superman: Doomsday, based on The Death (and Return) of Superman. This is about as close as they got to adapting the story in live-action. Though I think it was premature to include it here. PS: That reaction to Luthor was PERFECT.
I totally forgot Doomsday's name, and it just flew right over my head! I was def distracted by another weird depiction of Luthor in that animated movie 🤣 he was still better than Jesse ngl.
12:30 Mark! Oddly enough, he was "Daredevil" known to some fans as "The Red Batman" and he was indirectly "Clark Kent / Superman" by playing an actor that played those roles! I like Ben in "Pearl Harbor". You can appreciate his role in that movie more by seeing "Tora! Tora! Tora!" before seeing Ben's. Both Kate Beckinsale and Jennifer Garner are in it as nurses. I admit to conflating them because, at the time, it didn't make sense to me that on-screen he would make love to Kate's character but end up marrying Jennifer because that is supposedly how they met. Typically, you fall in love with the one you actually kiss often! 😁
Hearing someone say "I wonder if that's a villian from the comics" when shown Doomsday is so funny. Not in a mean way or anything, it's just the dramatic irony of the moment made me chuckle. I think the problem with this movie is it tried to be too many things. It mashed like 3 different comic book stories/universes together. It had the Injustice story where Superman becomes a tyrant, it had the Death and Return of Superman, and it had The Dark Knight Returns so they could shoehorn a Superman v Batman fight for some reason. Then they had to mix all those plotlines together and try to make them all make sense even though they all take place in totally different stories with different motivations and timelines etc etc etc. Idk, they needed to just stick to 1 iconic story, and tell that, instead of biting off more than they could chew.
The Injustice arc could fit in any timeline though. All you need is for Lois to die, and Superman loses himself. In any timeline the potential of that happening is a possible outcome. So, Bruce seeing a possible future through a nightmare vision of Injustice Superman didn't feel out of place to me. But it could have been executed better though. As for the Death of Superman, that was a terrible choice to shoehorn into this film. As it is too soon and not earned in my opinion.
@@jenniferhamels1176Justice League is why they went the “Death of Superman” route. Justice League was basically a continuation of Batman redeeming himself for almost killing Superman in BvS, and the DCEU’s Justice League was inspired by Superman and his sacrifice. I do agree it wasn’t earned, though. I believe it would’ve hit harder had WB taken their time and given us another Superman solo film after Man of Steel, then a Batman v Superman.
If you haven't heard yet, the actor that played Jimmy Olsen, in this version, was in the Smallville series for a while. In that he played a character (I don't want to spoil it if you haven't seen it and plan to) that is connected to Lex.
15:21- No legroom. You Perry cheap. 17:48- Don't feel bad. Lois in a tub was an important "educational" scene to me. 19:10- Son? Dang how old are you bats? 22:23- Mr Ulrich
26:15 Mark! Okay! Too many people have completed about how much damage, collateral or not, that he did with his "Batmobile" to understand or notice that it was to show us how tough it is before reacts like a regular car upon impact with Superman that doesn't flinch! I don't know if I still have it, but I at least once had the issue of "Supergirl" that depicts the front bumper of a car colliding with her lovely, sexy knees, and thus becoming a total wreck! Meanwhile in "The Munsters" vehicles colliding with "Herman Munster" would be just as wrecked! 😂
52:46 Mark! I've only ever seen her collide with tanks, punch tanks, or pick them up and toss them! 🤔 I've never seen her do that act with any tank! 😅😂😁😄 Edit: Would "Tank McNamara" mind if they did it? 🤪😉
52:25 Mark! Hmm. Because of how the movies were made and released, at this point, we are sure if she's using, "Power, Jumping" or "Power, Gliding", or "Power, Flight" or just her Strength Attribute and Agility Attribute with "Skill, Acrobatics" + "Skill, Martial Artist". 🤔 (By the way, her two movies are told as flashbacks!) But we finally learn in "Wonder Woman 1984" that Steve Trevor taught her how to adapt what she was doing into flying like Superman does, sort of! 😎
48:47 Mark. Combat, battle, warfare, melee, it speeds up the adapting process. Like in a WW2 movie that I recently saw. Some "Vichy French" and some Italians, were just ready to switch sides and join the Allies, if only the damn Nazis or their supporters would just die or get of the way! 😮😂 WAIT! You play an "Elder Scrolls" game! Your character has experienced the sudden change because of accidentally hitting those on your side! 😁
Honestly, I saw the Martha scene as Superman trying one last ditch effort to reach Bruce. Since, Clark learns that Batman is Bruce Wayne. Kent probably did some reach on Bruce and learned that his parents were killed right in front of him, when he was a child. So that why, I believe, Superman said Martha as a last attempt to reach Batman humanity.
I was onboard when Jesse Eisenberg was cast Lex Luthor. I thought it was genius casting because of course the modern day Lex Luthor would be a Mark Zuckerberg. Big Tech Oligarchs. Lex was originally a just a mad scientist and that is played up here with it's allusions to Frankenstein using hidden(forbidden) knowledge to forth an abomination to creation: Doomsday; the dragon that Superman must slay. His demonic envy of Superman, the ethereal made tangible and the need for revenge. "No man in the sky intervene to save me from Daddy's fist and abominations!" Yes I will defend Jesse Eisenberg's performance of Lex Luthor. Zack said Batman is one of the two villains of the film, the other is Lex Luthor. Three if you count Doomsday. Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2. Superman is the central hero of these films Batman/Bruce Wayne is Man in his fallen state. The Death of Thomas and Martha Wayne can be interpreted as the Fall of Man. Bruce wants revenge for his suffering and by the end he seeks salvation and redemption. The Kryptonite Spear, in the hands of Batman, is the Spear of Destiny. When the Kryptonite Spear is the hands of Superman it is Excalibur. Superman is the only one that can wield it justly. A poster for Sir John Boorman's Excalibur(1981) is seen next to the poster for the The Mark of Zorro(1940) and is the name on the Marque. Boorman's Excalibur is one of Snyder's favorite films and has a great influence on his work including the most recent Rebel Moon Part One. It is his urtext. I could go on about this even more but I'll save that for some other time. I love Snyder's mythic take on Superman and the DC mythos. The next film is Zack Snyder's Justice League(2021) and it a epic 4 hours long. Hope you enjoy it.
And so we come to the film that broke the DCEU. There’s no getting around this: Batman v. Superman is an absolute dumpster fire of a movie. Neither character is very heroic, and they both act like total jerks. Their conflict makes no damn sense. It’s as if they took a couple of action figures from the toy box and went, “POW POW!” and thinking that makes an interesting movie. Snyder is really not the right director to handle Batman, IMO. His detached and grandiose storytelling clashes with the humanity that makes Batman who he is. He can pull it off with Superman because Superman is clearly not human, but for a character like Batman, it doesn’t work. I am just itching you to see “World’s Finest” in the DCAU. It’s SOOOO much better than this train wreck of a movie. Better written, better acted, and both superheroes are in character for who they are both conceptually and in-universe.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is one true masterpeice I’m looking forward to you reacting to next 🔥 everything the fans fought for after everything this movie set up
@@Myself_here How was that version garbage? The visuals were good, the story was solid, the acting was great. If the studio hadn't decided to screw Snyder over for whatever reason they chose to, we wouldn't have needed the Snyder Cut (which really didn't add that much) anyway.
@@passionsquietrage The Snyder cut literally added more layer and depth to every single character including flash and cyborg’s… do you not remember Flash going back in time saving the entire universe from the motherboxes destroying the league before darksied’s arrival? Or do you just prefer Batman’s kiddish smile when Superman shows up his lips visually tampered with because of the mustache they were trying to hide.
Yeah Jesse is probably the worst Lex Luthor in live action. The way he acts is how Lex Luthor acted like as a High School Teenager. So as grown ass man it was kinda cringe to see him act like he the Joker.
1:05:27 Mark! According to the movie "Barbie" girls and women aren't going to have the same feelings about Zack Snyder's version of "Justice League" anyway! 😅😂
If you have issues with Dawn of Justice’s portrayal of Bruce and Clark’s coming together as best friends, I assure you the animated series goes more classic with it. I think for the purposes of pitting the two together the premise works, but you’re right that a lot of it relies on the characters acting in ways they wouldn’t normally behave (and, in the case of Lex, just for the hell of it I guess)
That’s stupid to say. They did not become “best friends”. Their focus friend from each other to a common threat to mankind. They never go out together or anything that so-called “best friends” do.
11:19- It's not Lois. Nice dream though. 12:41- Excellent and relatable quote. 13:17- Because it's not Lex, it's Jesse playing himself. 14:38- I mean he went full "Ben Mendelson" somber face
32:01 Mark! This is a movie, and not a series or a comic book. I know that! But some time before the reboot event known as the "Crisis On Infinite Earths" it was established in the comics that as a matter of routine safety policy, Superman used his "Super Senses" to look for traps and bombs, to prevent what just happened in this movie from happening! But the dramatic needs within the relatively short lifespan of a series or movie franchise, seemingly doesn't allow for "common sense" like that. 🤔
Im about 70% hate 30% love when it comes to this movie personally I’ll just put that out there first. Plenty has already been said about this movie when it comes to the script, the writing, and general direction of it so I went get into any of that too much so this doesn’t become a whole essay that no one will read. I think my biggest problem with this movie is it tries to do too many things at once in a time where the MCU was growing and thriving. Say what you will about the way Snyder wrote these characters, but personally, I might’ve been able to get behind an old disgruntled Batman who kills if I had gotten to know him through four other movies, rather than introducing him in one alongside wonder woman, and Lex Luthor, and doomsday, and also killing Superman after only one movie with him. I’m not gonna pretend to know if that was a studio decision or a Snyder decision but either way it was the wrong decision. I love Henry Cavill, and I love Ben Affleck, and I think they did their absolute best with what they were given but even with the ultimate edition, this movie just doesn’t make any sense to me personally lol it really felt like DC were onto something with man of steel despite the criticism But then kind of threw it all away with this movie and just never recovered after the fact. When it comes to the way, the characters are written, I’m ok with making a dark universe, DC comics are generally darker than Marvel anyway, but being someone who grew up with the animated movies, I just think the DCAU did a dark universe with lovable characters better than Snyder did.
That whole *Martha* scene was a realization that Clark is human. Batman's whole mission is to prevent what happened to him that one night that took his parents and realizing he's becoming what he set out to stop.l (He's literally picturing himself as his parents killer by attacking someone who's mother is also called Martha)
This movie is possibly the most mixed bag in history of comic book movies. While some of the decisions made are amazing, others are so bafflingly weird that it doesn't even feel like the same movie. The prime example is Lex Luthor. Obviously, Zack Snyder wanted to take this character in a different direction, making him more of a Silicon Valley wunderkind, but that is 100% NOT what Lex should be.
Lex has been several things in the comics. In Golden Age he was a mad scientist, in Silver Age he was Superboy's childhood best friend. In Bronze Age, he was back to being a super smart, super villain like in the Superfriends cartoon and Superman: The Movie. In Post-Crisis he was a ruthless, genius businessman on the outside and a criminal mastermind on the down low. Lex changes with the times, so the Silicon Valley wunderkind fits perfectly.
@@Falcun21 Respectfully, I disagree. I think Lex Luthor would be much better represented as a Donald Trump or Elon Musk type. A billionaire with political aspirations who likes to pretend to be a man of the people when really he just serves his own interests.
1:08:59 Mark! I remember the mentality of people not wanting to see Michael Keaton because he wasn't Adam West! So that's not new. Bad traits get passed on as w well as good traits. 🤷♂️
YES! Exactly. Some of this movie is like, DC at it's peak. But then some of it... Other parks are just, eek... It's such a shame this movie could have been so incredible as a whole. Unfortunately it's only incredible for a few scenes here ad there and then it reminds you of the bad decisions already made... Like Jesse's Luthor, and Batman killing. I do like the old man Bruce stuff, but right at the beginning of the DCU?! they should have built that up in my opinion. Other than the killing, I still loved Ben Afflecks Bruce Wayne/Batman. He was a very good choice for the role, it's unfortunate he didn't get a whole lot out of it :/
24:52 Mark! Yahoo! Yay! Finally, a modern day youth that's aware of the 1980 "Flash Gordon" movie starring Sam Jones with the music soundtrack performed by "Queen"! 🎉 (Hopefully you didn't just conflate "Flash Gordon" with "The Flash"! ⚡️)
It's not hard to understand. Batman's motivation on taking out Superman is because the potential danger Superman posed. Maybe you remember the opening scene in Metropolis. What if Supes invited another alien invasion or what if he turned evil? Bats couldn't take that chance. I'm a Battfleck fan too. He's perfect for Batman, although sadly, we probably won't see him as Bats again. And I hate Eisenberg as Luthor. Jesus, probably the worst Luthor iteration of all time. Made me appreciate Jared Leto's Joker more 😂
53:15 Mark! "Lois first"! Yes! In the early years in the comics, she had more difficulty trying to prove that Clark Kent and Superman were the same! She would toss herself out of or off of buildings to test his response time! Those shenanigans ended by the time they married. But anyway, there used to be a publication titled "Comic Buyer's Guide" or something like that. It was a newspaper. One issue featured a comic panel on which Superman is introducing Lois Lane to the "JLA" or she's getting a tour of the HQ. Over her left breast is a button-badge with the big word "PRESS" emblazoned on it! To the side, if I recall correctly, Hal Jordan is saying to Barry Allen, "Go ahead! I dare you!" As far as I know, they haven't shown us how Superman would react to a situation like that! 😮 But in an episode of the 1960s animated cartoon series, an episode I dislike, instead of taking Lois Lane away from the circus 🐘 that she somehow annoyed, he arrives and tosses the poor animal out of the scene, never to be seen or heard again! I forget how their conversation went. 😮
Yo! A reminder! Don’t be a toxic butthole! It’s a movie, and it’s ok for us to disagree on things. Being a jerk about it is stupid

Best shower scene of a man is in the specialist..and it's got Sharon stone so you can pretend you're not looking at manbeef😂
Until I read your comment, I always thought that line was garbage. But now I appreciate it even more. Thank you
It was a cool idea but how it was executed was just begging to be memed.
its about how bruce turned him into a monster not capable of the same emotions he would have towards his own mother each character has problems with parents while bruce and clark deal with loss lex deals with abuse and outright neglect "write checks for lex" his father used him to leverage power... just as lex grows up and uses everyone...Bruces dad died fighting the criminal who killed him... so Bruce fights criminals... Clarks dad dies going head first into danger... so does clark
That's what I took away from it.
Yeah the name is more of a self realization trigger.
"OMG I'm Joe chill!"
And the role reversal from his view of his calling forced him to rapidly reverse his mental de-humanization of Superman.
He's just telling Martha that he's a friend in the sense that he's there to help on Superman's behalf, not that they go to ballgames together.
Exactly, people who want to find problems with the movie look at it as they are friends all of a sudden which is stupid. Like you said he simply said jt at the moment In consideration to Superman’s mom.
still did a 180 real quick
Nice idea, terrible execution

@@boboboy8189you got it wrong Dr sivanna predates lex luthor if anything DC copied.
thank you for this explanation.
"If he wanted he could burn the whole place down" Flash also telling him "You've always been right about him"
It was dick that Sunderland said was killed
Batman started being cruel because of his fear of Superman.
"There is a new kind of mean in him. He is angry and he is hunting"
When he learns Martha is also Clark’s mothers name it makes Clark human and he realizes he has become everything he’s fought against for twenty years
Spot on.
At that moment he realized he was becoming the person he swore to stop
yeah that Martha scene clicked for me even tho it's obvious both are named Martha but no one really pays much attention to it
Yep! He's bat💩 crazy and i for one loved it!!
The movie forgets to illustrate this properly
" He’s killing people" - Who?
@@papalaz4444244 I think he killed exactly 9 people in this movie.

@@abrahamkoffi9922 Superman killed one person. Zod. And he didn’t want to. He saved the entire world he by definition did not kill those people. Killing criminals is still wrong.
Superman always dies fighting Doomsday, he's known as "the monster who killed Superman". Back in the day when a comic called "The death of Superman" was published, DC comics went dark on Superman making many believe that they weren't going to make any more Superman comics, and that sparked a nationwide outcry from comic book fans "bring Superman back", it was basically a whole "you don't know what you have until it's gone" thing.
it’s just weird since snyder said this wasn’t doomsday

Zack Snyder modeled his Lex Luthor on Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. It is an allegory for modern day America.
Lmao also a thing i associate with how quick Bruce and Clark got along good after the "almost killing you" thing, sure theres ALOT of context in between, but also its just a guy thing 🤷👏😂 We can squash beef and be bros all within the span of few minutes, so its just something i knew from experience so i went with it lol Sorry but women tend to hold hella grudges for a loooong time 😅
ALSO Yes Superman/Clark Kent died.
I absolutely adore this work of art....with all its flaws
we can just call it bad writing and be done with it lol
@@xPogiify Oh Please, the scene where Aquaman whipped out his giant sperm whale was a masterpiece of filmmaking.

This is so sweet!! 😭❤️
@@MegMageReacts thanks for responding. I’ve been loving your reactions, especially Star Wars!
❤ 👏👏👏👏
Bruce seeing clark as a man doesn't matter much when he is killing a bunch of other men in the movie, human life doesn't seem that precious to him
@@pedroduarte9580 Your obsession with this is utterly boring and predictable. You have a 5yos idea of comics and characterisation.

supermans fighting style is reactive he waits til something happens and saves the day.

Lmao that Lex reaction was great.
Doomsday is one of Supermans most iconic villains
Ben Affleck Robin who died was Dick Grayson so his death hit harder then Jason Todd because with him losing Jason Todd he lost a partner. By Bruce losing Dick Grayson he lost son. Also after you watch The Batman series you should get into the Fox Gotham TV series it has the best interpretation of Batman villains in it I've ever seen. It also makes a good viewing prequel series to DC's Titans and the Doom Patrol series.

I love how the world engine is the soundtrack to Bruce’s nightmares. Nice touch.
To answer your question, Luthor did-as one final act of spite towards Senator Finch before he blew her sky high.
Most, if not all of those so called "plotholes" can be explained by simply thinking critically and paying attention to the details given. There weren't that many weird decisions either.
I was actually really hoping you’d react to this so I’m very happy to see this!
Tell us the issues, please.

I never really liked the structure of the DCEU.
Totally WB and Hamada’s fault. Trying to compete with Marvel instead of letting Zack build what he was obviously building.
The Justice League animated series is so much better then the movie lol.
I always really liked this movie. Is it perfect? Hell no! But it’s fantastically acted and brilliantly shot. Affleck is my second favorite live-action Bruce (behind Keaton), and Cavill is my second favorite Clark (behind Reeves). I love that Bruce is so angry not only cause of Man Of Steel, but this cleary takes place not long after Robin’s murder in “Death In The Family”
I even kinda like Lex. Yes he’s technically the worst live-action Luthor we’ve gotten so far, but Jessie plays it well and he’s legitimately frightening at times. He’s much more of a psychopath like he was back in the 40s comics. He hates god cause he wants to be one himself. I just REALLY wish we could’ve gotten more of Mercy Graves, cause they got a great actress playing her
Plus Zack was building to the Lex we all know
17:08 Mark! See there! "Alexander Luthor"! 🤓😮
Okay, to double-check myself, I just looked it up. What the Hell?! Now, according to the article, "Lex" is just his shortened name! Damn it! The comics that I read in the 1980s during the "Crisis On Infinite Earths" made them seem to be separate entities! Damn nicknames!

One of my all time favorite superhero movies
Jessie's lex was brilliant!!! He was crazy and unhinged... Zack wanted to focus on Lex's intellect instead of his physical

Won’t disagree with the poor execution, but the Ultimate Edition definitely explained why Batman v Superman were in conflict with each other.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is one true masterpeice I’m looking forward to you reacting to next 🔥 everything the fans fought for after everything this movie set up
Fought for, but didn't need
@@passionsquietrage
Compared to the garbage version that was Josstice League? It was much needed and deserved
@@Myself_here How was that version garbage? The visuals were good, the story was solid, the acting was great. If the studio hadn't decided to screw Snyder over for whatever reason they chose to, we wouldn't have needed the Snyder Cut (which really didn't add that much) anyway.
@@passionsquietrage
I want what you’re smoking 🚬
@@passionsquietrage
The Snyder cut literally added more layer and depth to every single character including flash and cyborg’s… do you not remember Flash going back in time saving the entire universe from the motherboxes destroying the league before darksied’s arrival?
"classic "aka "super safe" and outdated
That’s stupid to say. They did not become “best friends”. Their focus friend from each other to a common threat to mankind. They never go out together or anything that so-called “best friends” do.
It was probably untraditional of me to watch this first. Nonetheless I'm excited for them to meet in TAS :D
Batman's whole mission is to prevent what happened to him that one night that took his parents and realizing he's becoming what he set out to stop.l
(He's literally picturing himself as his parents killer by attacking someone who's mother is also called Martha)
Lexs motivation is best summed with this line in the movie
“ I don’t hate the sinner I hate the SIN… and yours my friend is existing”
The story arc for this film was the comic titled: The Death of Superman. He actually dies and comes back with amnesia... not knowing who he was.
48:33 what is he supposed to say? I am an enemy of your son? He was just being polite.
This is Lex for the 21st century and his origin story.
@@Falcun21 Respectfully, I disagree. I think Lex Luthor would be much better represented as a Donald Trump or Elon Musk type. A billionaire with political aspirations who likes to pretend to be a man of the people when really he just serves his own interests.
They basically made him mark Zuckerberg for some reason.
He was a very good choice for the role, it's unfortunate he didn't get a whole lot out of it :/
It’s totally in line with Batman. Contingency plans for everything
52:25 Mark! Oh, and she supposedly hasn't been in love with another or made love since 1984. Would that affect her mood? 🤔
24:52 Mark! Yahoo!
I dare you!"
As far as I know, they haven't shown us how Superman would react to a situation like that! 😮
But in an episode of the 1960s animated cartoon series, an episode I dislike, instead of taking Lois Lane away from the circus 🐘 that she somehow annoyed, he arrives and tosses the poor animal out of the scene, never to be seen or heard again! I forget how their conversation went. 😮
