Am i the only one who adore both of these cars?! Both got attitude, both are 4WD, both have awesome powerplants and both gives you smiles while cruising on the streets. And both are legit track cars and have alot of potential for modification!

I don't know why you're saying that as if to say, "hey it did much better than I would have expected." Its not surprising that they were both pretty closely matched. I'd have a Subie as a daily (already do...) and an EVO track car. Though, if I built a Rally car, I'd have to go Subaru. It's always been the quintessential Rally car in my eyes. I do really miss the good old days of Mitsubishi and Subaru battling out in the dirt. Too bad the Evo is dead, so it's doubtful we'll ever see that happen on a manufacturer sponsored level.

I do like the Subaru community more, I just don't like most of the "kids" that own them.
XW or XY, only real difference between them is grill and tail lights. My uncle had 2 of them, a gold XY with the 250 I6 , and a silver XW with the 351 V8, he did them both up to be GT replicas (Cosmetically anyway), beautiful cars, both moved on to new owners.
Agreed! I've always been more of an EVO/DSM guy but that gen and that model WRX is pure sex. the only ones that look even half as good are the first gen WRX's like the b22's etc.
Interesting comparison... Even modded the WRX has a lot of trouble against the Stock Evo X. Would love to see Marty and Moog do the same test with a stock Evo 5 or 6 (Makinen even) against Moogs WRX... me thinks the WRX would struggle quite a lot more... Love the track, i did 10 laps around there with Fastrack racing for my 50th birthday then 3 hotlaps with a pro race driver, i went faster down the main straight (222kph) than he did. All said, great track, glad you guys had fun.

Because back in the day, only a small few liked and even dared to own them. Now every ricer, plastic mechanic and youtube wannabe owns them, the majority of whom can’t handle it. So they make them weaker and weaker. The EJ20 and EJ25 Are a perfect example. Half a litre difference yet the EJ20 shits all ofer it when it’s done right. Sad really.

I agree that for being stock the evo did as expected. now if they did the same mods on both cars I'd be curious how theyd match up then. And the difference between a lap time compared to a 1/4 miles straight away drag race results

ShinRotary actiually they dont. the amount power an engine can make needs to be compared by how much fuel they use to make power. just like you can have a 10L v8, sure it makes lots of power compared to small engines but at too great of a cost. wankel engines are both inefficient and unreliable.

I went to a sw20 mr2 to and e30 325e to a Cruze and then an aw11 mr2 I still own all four and that Cruze never gets driven unless I have to carry four people comfortably. It's just so dull

@@VincentAnthonyE Tyres don't necessarily dictate grip. If I put identical high performance tyres on two identical cars.... you would expect identical grip. However, in this case we are comparing different chassis and different suspension. Both things can have a massive impact on grip. With the stock suspension letting it down, it's feasible that Marty's car would have dramatically less grip in corners.

I have owned a 2011 WRX and I now own a 2015 Evo. Between both cars my Evo has less money into it and makes more power then my WRX. Marty had the disadvantage from the get by being stock. If his Evo had identical mods to Moogs WRX, this video would be ending differently. Not being a hater but definitely disappointed lol.
u have to remember here that he is driving a modded wrx not a sti so the power is probably the same or the wrx is even a bit lower since its stock at 265

I've said it a million times....I don't care if your double clutch paddle shifters are more efficient or slightly faster, nothing is quite like a true manual.

@@marklove7397 Automatic cars are faster in most cases because the manual drivers don't know how to shift properly. Only is it for experienced driver that manual is faster. I actually think the fastest evo records out there is an automatic by Kozmic but i'm not sure.

@@VincentAnthonyE Tyres don't necessarily dictate grip. If I put identical high performance tyres on two identical cars.... you would expect identical grip. However, in this case we are comparing different chassis and different suspension. Both things can have a massive impact on grip. With the stock suspension letting it down, it's feasible that Marty's car would have dramatically less grip in corners.

I have owned a 2011 WRX and I now own a 2015 Evo. Between both cars my Evo has less money into it and makes more power then my WRX. Marty had the disadvantage from the get by being stock. If his Evo had identical mods to Moogs WRX, this video would be ending differently. Not being a hater but definitely disappointed lol.

u have to remember here that he is driving a modded wrx not a sti so the power is probably the same or the wrx is even a bit lower since its stock at 265

@@marklove7397 Automatic cars are faster in most cases because the manual drivers don't know how to shift properly. Only is it for experienced driver that manual is faster. I actually think the fastest evo records out there is an automatic by Kozmic but i'm not sure.
