I've been tongue scraping for years. My favorite is Dr. Tung's COPPER tongue scraper. Copper is naturally anti-bacterial and it stays cleaner more easily. I do it every morning. Right after getting up, I brush my teeth and scrape my tongue. One other benefit -- if tongue scraping makes you gag, you are stimulating your vagus nerve, which is good for us too.

@@miabeia3117I think putting it in lemon water is supposed to clean it. I’d assume apple cider vinegar mixed with water as well would clean it. Though you don’t want to get that one your teeth a lot or it’ll wear them down. If you take it you’d use capsules or drink with a straw to avoid teeth and dilute it well enough. You can swish with it and I think maybe also hydrogen peroxide (but I’m not sure if that’s safe for everyone or not it may be but I’d check) but you don’t want to use either that way for long. It’ll go past whitening to degrading enamel.

LOVE this channel. When you floss, brush, water-pik and tongue scrape there is ZERO bad breath or morning breath. Daily tongue scraping and nose flushing/cleaning (in the shower) are mandatory for good hygiene. If you use a natural toothpaste loaded with Xylitol, you will even see tartar start to disappear within weeks. (Keep it away from dogs. Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs and will cause liver shut-down.) First, eliminate all the damn fluoride products. BRAVO on the fluoride lawsuit. I admire you greatly for that. Dr. Mercola has been warning about fluoride for decades.

Science is NOT evident on dementia from Fl- ions it is clear that too much Fl- can cause fluorosis so moderate use has been proven to have efficacy against Carie’s as has Xylitol. Proven Dental Science tells us to have good Oral Hygiene Care (OHC) with less than a pea size dentifrice with or without fluoride in it that we can diminish Caries, Periodontal Dz, plaque induced Cardiovascular Dz, Diabetes and Dementia! All these TRUTHS are proven. 🥰🥰🥰 What is also self evident is that regular OHC bleeding soreness and inflammation will diminish within a couple of weeks. Bad Breath is so much better with OHC including cleaning that 👅 tongue.
Dry mouth and Diabetes are things you can smell and easily diagnose. Read up on these diseases one needs medical evaluation and the other can be as easy as small sips of water every 2-3 times an hour to moisturize not rehydrate! As a dentist I love Docs content and refer my patients to it Regularly! Cheers

For many, many years, I had to scrape my tongue. Always yucky. Twenty-one months ago, I switched to eating the carnivore diet. Now my tongue is never coated, even in the morning. In addition, I no longer have gum disease, and my wife says I never have morning breath. About a year ago, I noticed that my teeth were always clean and smooth, so I stopped brushing altogether. I do floss twice a day to get the meat from between my teeth, but that's it. My gums no longer bleed. At all. But wait there is more. I completely reversed T2 diabetes, wicked arthritis, high blood pressure, easily lost 40 pounds, and on and on. Before I started eating this way, I thought I would have to stop driving because I had such awful brain fog. Now I drive with confidence, my mind is sharp. It is so nice to live without any diagnoses, no longer having to take meds, eating all I want, and never hungry between my two meals a day. I'm 75 and will never go back to eating those nasty sugars, carbs, seed oils, and even fruits and vegetables.

Do you still eat butter? How about eggs? What oil or fats do you cook with? Do you use Spices? Do you ever suffer cramps? Do you ever consume dairy? I have been trying keto/carnivore on and off for years, I stick to low carb, but I seem to suffer from cramps (calves or abdominal muscles) when I am carnivore for more than 2 weeks. What are your two meals? Did you have receding gums or pockets? If so, has any of that returned? How long did you suffer gum disease for? How long did it take for your gums to get better after the switch to carnivore? From one brother to another, thank you.

@@jonathankuhn2180 Butter yes, 1/4 stick a day. Only beef lard and butter to cook. Other dairy no, too inflammatory. Cramps - used to, electrolytes fixed that, I use Keto Chow drops. First meal = 1/2 pounds of BBQ hamburgers + the butter. Second meal = a large BBQ'd striploin steak. I eat all the fat. I use a lot of Redmonds Pure Salt. Use to have bleeding gums and pockets for years and years. All normal now. My oral health is so good now that I haven't brushed in a year. Teeth are always smooth, zero bad breath. I do floss 2x a day though. Good luck on your journey brother!

I used to tongue scrape as a teenager back in 2005 and had no idea this was what I was doing! I randomly bought a BreathRx kit one day at a CVS and it came with a tongue scraper like the white one you showed. I bought other kits when I was in my 20’s and just did it because I thought it was like brushing your tongue. I stopped doing it one day after I got a little too aggressive and cut my tongue. I still have the scar till this day 😂. Good to know I was doing something very beneficial for myself. I have resumed scraping now with the Slate flosser. I love it and my breath has never been better.

Best thing you can do for your oral health is going carb-free. Almost complete elimination of inflammation of gums, and I barely get any tartar deposits. 3 years ago before starting I had to spend 5 hours (across 3 days) in the dentist's chair for cleaning, and my mouth was bleeding for days after. But after going carnivore (a more extreme version of low-carb) he joked that he had barely anything to do, and I usually leave about 30 minutes. I tongue-scrape as well, and trying to do the nasal cleaning, but it's a new habit that I got to develop.

Chinese medicine ( acupuncturists) use your tongue to diagnose what’s going on in the body. If we tongue scrape and for instance the white carpet ( so to speak) returns we aren’t getting to the deep down issue. Don’t you agree?

You can still scrape. It’s normally a digestion issue if you white film. They also tell by tongue color for inflammation

BY THE THE WAY, BEING VEGETERIAN OR PLANT BASED ELIMINATES BAD ODORS NOT JUST FROM YOUR MOUTH, BUT ALSO FROM YOUR BODY... AND SO YOU DON'T NEED DEODORANT.
I BRUSH MY TEETH AFTER LUNCH & DINNER, NOT IN THE MORNING, AND I WAKE UP WITH MY MOUTH ODOR FREE AND NO BAD TASTE EITHER.

Brushing your Tongue with your tooth brush is not a good idea, as you are taking the bacteria off your tongue and then spreading it on your teeth and gums. Unless you are boiling your tooth brush after each use, I don't suggest it is a good idea.
