Great video, everything is well explained. It is simply a pleasure to listen to someone so natural, as if I were listening to a friend. It can be seen that all the tips are from experience. Especially "those little things" that the act of not warning you about become a mountain of problems. This is the first video of yours that I have watched and I will watch the others as well.
Great video! Having trouble understanding were to plug in the code after I created a sms pop up on klaviyo? I remember you mentioning a code that needs to be copy paste to klaviyo
Really good video. It helped me a lot. I just have a question about the dynamic image part around 46:00. You kind of just skipped that part and got the dynamic image link from somewhere? Can you explain that more please?
yep, great question, Chim! In my video at 46:00, see that little gray box in the right top corner that says "No Checkout Started Events available to preview"? If you're doing this in an active account, you should see a few different events there. If you expand that box (by clicking the little "I" icon), you'll see a bunch of properties of the event. Look for the word "image". When you find it, click on it, and you'll see the code to use to display that particular image. Should look something like: {{ event.Items.0.Product.Images.0.BaseImageUrl }} Hope this helps!
Thank you so much pretty lady for your outstanding and in-depth Klaviyo SMS marketing video. I thoroughly enjoyed every word you shared and your radiant smiling face as well.
Hey @kaseyluck what a great video. Im a little confused how sms subscibers are added to flows... the new klaviyo ui has new triggers for flows. In particular one called 'subscribed to sms marketing' Its easy to create a flow with this trigger but there is no way of knowing if this trigger takes into account both tap to text forms, or the desktop 2 step form. Have you found this issue?
Hi, this was very informative however I have a few questions. I have the link for the form that was created around 27:33 but I have no clue how to add it to a page I created in shopify. Also, once the has been added to the page you suggest sending it out in an email...do I just add the link to the page in the email or is there a way to add the form to the email? TIA
Hi there! Adding the embed code to the Shopify page: there should be a place to add HTML code to the page... If you have a drag & drop theme, add an HTML block first, and drop the Klaviyo code there. Each Shopify website is quite different, so it's hard for me to tell beyond that (and I'm not a Shopify dev expert, unfortunately). Regarding your second question: you'll need to direct your subscribers to the newly created page, as there's no way to embed the form in the email.
Thanks! Nope, it’s not a green screen - it’s an actual yellow background with some cool lighting setup. The team that helps me with shoots is the best!
Hi Kasey, I’m hoping you see this message. I created in my Lists a list of people who consented to SMS subscription verbally with me. I added their names, phone numbers, and emails. However, I’m trying to send a SMS text message to that list and it’s saying they are all “not subscribed”. Any advice?
Thank you so much for the information Kasey! I have a question about adding SMS and email sign-up on one page, and under one List Segment, can that be done? and would you recommend this?
yeah, that can be done, but I don't recommend it. If you ask for one thing at a time (first email, then SMS) your conversion rates (submit rates) will be higher.
Hi, this video answered many of my questions. I went on & hit subscribe. But I still would like to know something else about the welcome message. Can it be set up to create a series of messages for certain keyword sms subscribers??
Thank you for your help in setting this up! I am having issues though. In 38:16 you talk about confirming the steps are correct with klaviyo integration and checkout on shopify. I have confirmed both, but when I am adding the phone number at checkout and then click to shipping nothing gets added to the double opt in list and i did not receive a text. So I'm not sure what is wrong here. Can you please help?
Hey Alyssa, thanks for your questions! It's tough to help with cases like this without having access to your account. For issues like this, Klaviyo Email Support should be most helpful.
Hey Kasey, great vid!! Quick question, if my SMS was not already set up and rn it says verifying, does that mean i wont be able to send SMS til it is verified or i can still use it? May be a dumb question sorry lol
you'll need to specify the conditions of your coupon code either in Klaviyo or your shopping platform (like Shopify), depending on where you're creating it.
Thank you, Kasey! Took a lot of time to help me to know what is SMS and how to start it. But I have a question, I can't upgrade the SMS subscribers by the proceed, don't know what to do with it. When I finished editing the SMS content, I choose the list which has many customers' information (including their phone numbers) but the proceed showed failed at the first step. It shows Recipients: This will send to SMS Subscriber Smart Sending is ON Profiles who received an SMS in the last 24 hours will be excluded. 0 estimated recipients. Don't know what to do with it, want your help.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Most likely you don’t have subscribers’ consent to send them marketing SMS messages. If you collected their phone numbers from the checkout but you didn’t collect consent at the time, that would be the case.
Hi Kasey, thank you for sharing, i have a question is when you set up 2 steps to collect email and phone number, do the customers have to complete both of them to get discount code? can they get it if they just finish one step like subscribe email only? thx
It depends on how you set it up! You have the choice of making the second step (phone number) required or not. Also, even if you DO make the second step required, after someone fills out the email address in the first step, their email address immediately goes to Klaviyo and is recorded. If you have a welcome flow set up and you send your welcome coupon through it, the email subscribers will receive the welcome coupon (even if they didn’t fill out step 2). Hope this helps! If you need help setting up a flow for sending that welcome coupon, I have it right here: ua-cam.com/video/KbIyIjsQ__Y/v-deo.html
This is WONDERFUL, Kasey! Thank you for the super thorough video! I have a contest giveaway that has an SMS sign up form. The form is connected to a double opt-in list that I have created and the list is populating perfectly. However, when I tried to create an SMS flow that is triggered by someone being added to the list, it wouldn't work (I tested it). I have also added a Flow Filter that stipulates that the person is consented to receive SMS. Is there a step I might have missed that is causing the flow to not work properly?
Hey Kelly! Try to go the other way - make the trigger for the flow "consented to SMS" and then if you need to filter it only to a specific list, add a flow filter "is in X list". I believe that should work better. I found it best to trigger SMS flows by consent. When you trigger it by a list, especially if your SMS list is double opt-in, there are usually issues.
Great video, but I can't edit much of the information in my SMS settings (ie. Opt Out Language, etc.). It appears to be greyed out or has a strike circle cursor when I try to click. Any help?
starting with email first is great, also I think trying the email form is better because not everyone would love to give out numbers to a brand they don't know much about.
Hi Alyssa! Sorry you're experiencing issues. What exactly do you mean by "connect the email campaign" to the embed SMS form? An embed SMS form would be collecting phone numbers for SMS messages, so there wouldn't be any way to connect an EMAIL campaign to an SMS form... Please clarify what you're trying to accomplish and I'll try to help!
A thousand thanks, Kasey! It's a long video presentation yet worthy of patience in order to learn everything about SMS MARKETING. God bless.
