Ok so I have read the comments and I would like to say that I had the 3 in 1 and lent it to my son. He failed to recharge it when it went red and it was trash . You must follow the maintenance to the letter for the battery to work as promised. I also suggest the 1st charge be the entire 48 hours even if the light comes on it seems to make a difference in the longevity of the charge but not sure why. I plan on only using it to run a few items while camping and pumping up floats so I think the 80 dollars is worth it the other ones are super expensive
I just bought one brand new from local Harbor Freight. Charged it up and then used it to inflate a pickup tire. Within minutes, I heard a pop from the portable pack and then smoke began billowing out of the portable pack container. Fortunately, it was only two days old so I am returning.
I have a syntax 4-in-1 my body hooked it up the wrong way now I will not charge don't wait should I get away with just changing the battery I think it would work
Wait you connect it for 5mins then turn it on or you connect it , turn it on and wait 5 minutes before you start the car .. mines had only worked once so I'm bout trash it.. very frustrating in an emergency. Please clarify .. thanks
Three questions please: 1 -I have a Dodge Ram 2500, can I use this to jump start that heavy a vehicle. 2 - I have a golf cart with 6 batteries, will it work on that? 3 - If I lose power to my house, do you know how long it will keep an appliance or a fan or whatever it is you want to run, going? Hours? Minutes? A day??? Thanks. Video is great, I like how you really show/demo how to use all facets vs just saying it has this or that.
Thank you for this very helpful video for a non mechanic type of person like me! You made the operation of this power pack so easy to understand! I just bought one. :-)
Glad I found you, just got this same unit I'm 65 and I watch videos for everything. My question is can I test a car battery with this unit to see if it's dead or alive and if it's dead can I charge a car battery with this unit and how do I do that. Cherylle from California
Use this to jump the battery. Then let the car run a while and take it for a ride to charge it up, assuming it has started. Then Drive to Autozone or one of those and they can test your battery. My Jeep dashboard tells me the situation of my battery, maybe yours does too and you didn't realize?
@@HomeownerRepair was not the outlet. i took it apart. dead battery, dead electronics. i converted into a tire inflator/work light. i am very disapointed by the acdc they put. 12 v, 0.5 a. i.e. 6 watt! thin wires. even when this thing works, it relies on the battery, not the 110 v ac for the pump. so i added a heavy duty 12-volt wires and cigarette lighter plug.
Bought a Cen-tech 4 in 1 ( JUNK BOX ) from Harbor Freight and it wouldn't hold charge after a couple of months and air compressor went bad. Try to return to Harbor Freight for refund or exchange but they didn't stay behind their product.
over the past 21 years I have bought 4 or 5 of these because they go bad in a few years ... I was tempted to buy the "insurance" $30 thsi time but I didn't after reading so many of these complaints I wish I did. I nevertheless love this unit, it never failed me when I needed it and I always replace it when it goes squirrely. Since I am in hot Florida, maybe that is hard on these units. I don't think they are junk but with no longer 20% coupons available, they do cost a lot, i think $80 currently.
I have a question about the 4 in 1. I got one of these in a sale that I bought a bundle of things. I found a manual which was a great help but I'm not sure if what's happening is normal or some type of warning. When I turn the off knob to on the light flashes under the green gage but there is also a very high pitched whine that starts also. When I turn the knob off it stops. The manual states when it's plugged in to charge that all three lights will flash until it's finished and then the green light will stay on. When I plug it in no lights come on and maybe 3 to 5 minutes later the green light flashes and the high pitched sound starts also. I unplug it and the light goes out and the sound stops. Is this maybe some type of warning or is it along with the light is telling me it's charged. Everything seems to be working but we tried to boost someone and it didn't work. But, the manual says to hook the negative to metal on the car for 5 to 9 minutes or it won't work. We didn't know this at the time therefore I assume that's why it didn't work. Idk. Could you help or have you heard of this high pitched sound. It's a solid sound until u turn it off or unplug it if charging. I just don't want to try and use it if it's some type of hazard warning. I hope it's just an "it's charged" warning. Any ideas?
These don't last very long they stop charging after a couple of times after use, I have tried 4 of these exact ones they are defective! Get a JNC 770r I have had mine for over a year now and it still works as good as new. I got 3 of these at first for gifts for my son, daughter, and wife cars they all failed within a few months the charging circuit is the problem you can charge them with a 2 amp battery charger but just to much for me I would recommend a different one for sure. They also failed after replacement the first time so we moved on to JNC 660's and JNC 770r's.
They are good to have on hand in the garage. Even if a car dies in your driveway it's easier to grab that jump pack than a battery charger that you have to plug in.
Homeowner Repair I have the same Centech power pack. The issue that I am having is once I connect the jumper cables, the red battery light goes on and you hear a obnoxious beeping sound. I have attempted this on two different cars and same result. You would think it just needs to be charged, after fully charging (green light on), the beeping persists once I reconnect the terminal cables in there correct orientation. I am not receiving any power. I have no idea what the issue is.
You forgot to mention what a piece of junk this was. NEVER should you allow this device to deplete, once it goes into the red it will no longer charge again! The last one I bought (can't remember who made it) stayed charged (on and off again) for years.. It stayed on my workbench and when ever I needed it, it was ready to go. Figured I could do the same with this one but after just a few months the HFPOC was dead and could not be recharged. My advice? Spend a few $$ more and get one from Sears.
I wish I would’ve found this video before I purchased. I wanted a jumper pack not this this seems more like junk battery charger. I don’t think it’s what I want. I’m gonna try it tomorrow to start something that does not have a battery in it but it probably for my use this is not the right thing. PS I wanted it to start vehicle that do not have a battery.
One more thing the compressor says 250 psi there is no way it took over a half an hour to get to 40 psi. I am so sick of these companies building stuff. That’s hard on the environment.
Save your money - Its old lead acid technology that take over 30+ hrs to charge and doesn't last long in your trunk. Its useless in an emergency and takes too long to charge - ONLY GET LITHIUM ION - Like incandescent compared to LED.
I currently have the CenTech 4-In-One. It's fantastic! You are correct that it can't be left in the trunk for long periods, because it will lose its charge. I find that in the summer, charge it every month. In the winter, every two weeks. I tried one of the small lithium ion packs. They are fine, but die early. Previously I had a quality Shumacher lead acid jump pack. It lasted 7 years.
I have on and Steve has one ours are still going strong. We leave these battery chargers plugged in. The directions from Harbor Freight tell you to keep them plugged in when not in use.
Chinese junk does not hold a charge can barely jump a compact car if youre lucky. Seems like it takes hours to fill tire with compressor. Spend a few extra bux n get a better product
I love mine. This is my third or fourth or maybe 5th one of these in 21 years, they have saved me several issues living rural far from an air station. They die in a few years and I do keep them charged up. I just use it to top off my tires, and have jump started my Jeep several times. I have had many same model over past 21 years and would not be without it. In hot Florida it may go bad quicker but it is a blessing when needed it's there. If it stops working I buy another one. Usually 4-5 years but I had one only lasted 2 years. Next time I will buy the $30 insurance to extend the warranty 2 years after the 90 days it comes with is over. I think you are being very hard on this item but I too hate the idea of Chinese junk, but very little in this world isn't these days. Soon they will be sitting in Biden's office with him LOL!!!

I keep mine plugged in and it has been working fine. The directions say to keep a charge on it.

I inflated 5 RV tires from 30 PSI to 60 PSI with mine and it was fine.
Product is junk, right?
I'm sure it doesn't work now
THANK YOU! I was just "gifted" a used one, and was wondering how to properly use it.
Glad I could help!
I just had this item from harbor freight and I am charging it right now, your explanation very well said.
Thanks for watching
Thank you sir....very direct...to the point not trying to be a comedian or nothing just instructional.....THANKS ALOT!.

Hi this is a good video thanks for sharing 🤔 what could it be if its not charging
Thanks for watching. I am not sure if there may be a reset button.
This really help me out a lot you cover it all thank you
Glad to help!
Can this be used overnight charging a dead battery
It is not made to be a trickle charger, this jump pack from Harbor Freight is designed to jumpstart a dead battery.
Hi thanks for u video,I need to change for 48 hrs like they said in the manual?
I did when I first got it.
Nice video I have a question can you also charge your battery in the house with thecentech 4 in 1
I am not sure what you mean. You can plug the jump pack into any outlet to charge it.
Great video! Clear and concise. Thorough!
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I have a syntax 4-in-1 my body hooked it up the wrong way now I will not charge don't wait should I get away with just changing the battery I think it would work
If you have a battery charger you may have to use that if the jump pack is toast.
I missed where you set the air pressure to inflate the tire, say it takes 36psi to bring up to pressure, how do you set the gauge to 36psi?
When the gauge gets to 36 it's where u would stop.
Thanks for watching.
Hey I was wondering why the lights would be flickering while I was charging ?
It sounds like a loose connection.
Wait you connect it for 5mins then turn it on or you connect it , turn it on and wait 5 minutes before you start the car .. mines had only worked once so I'm bout trash it.. very frustrating in an emergency. Please clarify .. thanks
Steve and I use ours all the time. They have been fine.
Where and how do you charge it I have one and it just keeps making a loud noise but the battery level is low
I just leave it plugged in, and it usually recharges pretty fast when I use it. The instructions said to leave it plugged in when not in use.

Why does the green batter light Stay on all the time? Shouldn't it shut off when it's unplugged & not charging??
Mine stays on too to let you know its fully charged.

No this jump pack will not tell you if the battery is good.
Use this to jump the battery. Then let the car run a while and take it for a ride to charge it up, assuming it has started. Then Drive to Autozone or one of those and they can test your battery. My Jeep dashboard tells me the situation of my battery, maybe yours does too and you didn't realize?
any idea if you can trickle charge a battery (out of the car) with it?
doesn't seem like its set up for that.. but idk
Yes! you absolutely can! I have this battery, my camper, lawn mower battery all under my work bench on truckle chargers all winter long.
@@HomeownerRepair I'm not sure how that works?? do you leave the charger plugged in and it on?
why did the oil leak out of my Gen tech? Can it be repaired?
I'm not sure
when i plugged mine, no lights came. does not seem to be charging. is there a fuse somewhere? can you operate the inflator alone?
Not that I am aware of. Did you try it out on another outlet?

Not sure, probably a couple hours.

You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Can you charge this charger by using the cigarette lighter port? Thanks
There is no adapter for it.
I drive an Audi s5 2010, does this wake up the battery?
If the battery is dead this should charge it so that you can start the car.

Instead of grounding it, can you just hook it up to the negative terminal ?
You should be able to. This charger works well Steve and I had to jump start a customer's car last week and it worked awesome.
For safety you should ground (spark the connection) away from the battery’s hydrogen gasses

Try to unplug it then plug it back it to charge.
