My Cen tech 3 in 1 is over one year old. But this morning I fell asleep with the lights on down at a park, and couldn't start my Subaru. I waited 10 minutes and it did start me up. However there have been times it wouldn't do it. Usually at 2 am on a rainy night somewhere in Bum Fuck Egypt.
Idiot, it is Absolutely Not designed to work that way. At least the owner Read The Instruction card. You Must Wait after turning on a few minutes before cranking the engine. Don't mislead people, ignoramus -
@Joseph Brown Hey dope, did you Watch the video? Do you own this unit? Hold on, you're a Mechanic and you use Harbor Freight's cheapest Jump box? Oh sure you do.... Let's start over- The Reviewer is 100% correct and he says so himself that the Cen-tech 630 is not Really a jump starter, just a power supply (even tho it looks like a jump box... I use Those as well genius). Just as it says on the special, separate, included Card- which says "wait 5min Before starting the vehicle". Again, do you have the unit and have you actually tried immediately starting a vehicle with it because I Have and if you are saying you do, on cars with Dead batteries, with this Centech 630, then you lie ~
All I ever did with my Cen Tech......I connect to battery.....Turn unit on.....go start car.....disconnect.....Done. I have never ever waited 5 minutes. Guess I missed that step in the manual.
Thanks a ton for the review and info!!! Saves me a trip, and wasted time! Almost bought one of these instead of an Onco!! Would rather pay the little bit of extra $$ to get what I want and get a REAL jumper..
OK. I left my hazard lights on for 3 hrs the other day and the car wouldn't start. So, I hooked up the Centech and left it on for 15 minutes this time, and it did start the car.
Yea works like a trickle charger. My employer bought this for generator batteries. It worked for the van yet I should of charged it again before trying to get a defective generator battery to crank.
The only problem that I had with it is that the charger AC connector is cheap. If you break the old plug you have to get a new one from Amazon. But it works beautifully to jump-start my vehicles.
Should be fine to connect it to the negative terminal but can ground another way. jumper cables say that too and most people seem to connect to neg term anyways.
Thanks so much for the review, I just brought this same charger and misplaced the instructions. I remember reading somewhere that you need to charge the power pack once a month, is this true?
I have the same charger. It's junk. So are Habor Freight tools. That's why they're cheaper than other brands. The battery jumper need to be recharge every week. That means it doesn't hold a charge for long period. I owned other brands. The charge would last for months.
I have this one as well. Exchange it for another. Mine has started a couple v8 gas engines and shitloads of smaller engines. It is a SLA battery. They should be charged every 30 days. Mine now needs a battery at 5 years old. Replacement batts are around $35 on ebay.
You keep saying "booster" but do not appear to understand the term. This is a battery you are connecting in parallel to your vehicle battery. Those "boosters" are, you guessed it, are batteries too. They may play fast and loose with how they provide the voltage and amperage needed, but they are just batteries as well. Difference is those tiny units use lithium cells that can rapid discharge into a start condition, but have no mass or depth to them so if if doesn't work immediately, then that's it. Hot and fast, no stamina. This battery pack has essentially a garden tractor/motorcycle battery in there and can last much longer.
I think he might have seen some videos on the smaller lithium ion jump starters which often have a boost button if they do not detect the battery. Unfortunately the cables on the lithium ion pics would be way too short for this particular van.
Anyone have the Centec 750 peak amp Starter / power station ?.... little blue one approx 10 pounds. I just bought one and learning a bit more about it. Anyone experience any odor coming from the device??? I made my van into a camper van and hope its not dangerous to keep in there with me. Keeps my phones charged and has great work light on it.
Don't get me wrong, this was a very good demonstration of if and how to jump a vehicle with this thing. But GOD ALMIGHTY that you have to Wait for actual Minutes out of your life before you can crank the thing. Ya, apparently it is more of a power pack than anything. But in All Likelihood it has a capacitor it needs to charge up for the burst of engine cranking. You'd think that after all that teeth knashing, you'd at least praise the cheap little thing for running your glow plugs And cranking your high compression diesel. GOTTA be from NY or NJ... Waa waa waa waa WAAAAA 👶
@@jasonhenderson6846 I have the same booster pack, and absolutely. It's worth the wait. I've started V8's that were completely dead. I haven't yet tried jump starting a BMW. BMWs are hard to jump start.
I would much rather have one of these in my truck in case anybody ever wants to use jumper cables with my truck. No freaking way would I ever hook up my truck to someone else’s with jumper cables unless you want to fry your computer
A free battery pack from your job??....."must be nice",,.I have the dinky version of the monster you hooked up there...but you are correct.its not a booster..its a battery pack...booster battery jumpers are those battery chargers that get pulled around on wheels....
I keep it parked in the street. It’s not registered as commercial. Where I live for the next few weeks doesn’t allow overnight parking of commercial vehicles.
I bought one of these. And today I tried it for the first time. This couple in a nice Subaru had ran their battery down playing the stereo for 15 min. Anyway we let it sit for 5 min. But it did not start the car. Guess I'll keep my AAA membership.
Lmfao 😂 Tell me why everything u Just Said I Said And Question To Myself Too . This is happening as we speak 😂😂😂 If I Were You I'd Take That 3 in 1 right back To Work And Tell whoever gave u that and Say " this shit is basic af don't even come with no power boost "😂😂😂😂
I have the same one I never wait more than a couple of seconds starts every time it is exactly a jumper box not a trickle charger
Your video is 60 frances per second instead of the usual 30 and it looks way better than other videos. Thanks for sharing
Im in the US, whats the Frances per second conversion rate?
Ty , your video answered a question that I wanted to ask.

You can absolutely just hookup and turn the engine over.
that never has worked when I tried it and I just got my damn truck back yesterday I am good and pissed off

I've owned this for a few years and have jumped multiple dead vehicles.
Its basically just a portable battery to piggyback with the existing battery to add power to assist with starting
Yes it worked though. I usually use my electric car charger that i can set to 50amps for a jump
Thanks for clearing that up. I want something to jump start right away not in five minutes
The Audew works great
Thanks a ton for the review and info!!! Saves me a trip, and wasted time! Almost bought one of these instead of an Onco!! Would rather pay the little bit of extra $$ to get what I want and get a REAL jumper..
It’s not a trickle charger it simply acts as an extra battery that you are jumping from
This an investment just bought one u never know when u need it especially when u can't find no1 to give one
they dont last long, more of a cash sync

I jumped a toyota foerunner for a lady at work it started it as soon as she turned the key
It just puts the top charge back in to battery. Not designed to jump start lime the more expensive booster starters.
Yea works like a trickle charger. My employer bought this for generator batteries. It worked for the van yet I should of charged it again before trying to get a defective generator battery to crank.
Hi good afternoon, what do you mean by a booster, and what do you have any better recommendation for a portable jumpstart, thank you
Does red go on positive? Then the black to a ground?
Red to the manifold oscillation fan throttle and black to the ground

Anyway to actually charge a car battery with this model

I’m so use to using my battery charger that has the 50amp output for the boost.
correct you do not have to wait the 5 min.

My parents have one and it started a 4.3 GM v6 with a dead battery (3 volts in it). That put it to the test but it did start it.
Did you turn it off when not in use? Instructions state you need to physically switch it off or else it will discharge while in the ready state.
