      I still have this after quite a few years. Last year the pump stopped pumping pressure. I still used it for the jump start on my small equipment, but I got a little lithium jumper this year, so I plan to tear this apart and get the battery out and repurpose the battery and trash the rest. It was good while it lasted.

      @@JeromeBeeFarm thanks...it is a nice gadget for less than 50 bucks.... I tried to jump start my car which definately 950 cranking Amps so it tried but no cigar. Then I used an acura battery from a loaner dealership and that battery read 12.7 or even 13.1 V and once again, no cigar....so I put the cen tech and the Acura battery in electrical series arrangement and that gave close to 24 V which got my bmw car started immediately...but had some one discount upon hearing a crank so no damage is done but I don't recommend it as a substitute for the 1700 Amp starter...I think is called the viking but it is at 350 dollars. Wishing you well for the honest opinion.

      Hey D3S. Thanks for the subscription. Unfortunately many after market battery mfg lie on their AH ratings overstating the truth, so beware if you are comparing items or batteries. FYI I still have this power pack and still working fine. I air up tires with it mostly. Take care.

    when i plugged mine, no lights came. does not seem to be charging. is there a fuse somewhere? can you operate the inflator alone?

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  2 роки тому

      I don't know about a fuse. I noticed that when it's fully charged, you can barely see the green led and it doesn't blink when fully charged. Yeah, the inflator has it's own switch on the back side. I mainly use mine for the inflator. I occasionally will jump a lawn mower or atv.

    • @JeromeBeeFarm

      You should take it back if it's in warranty. If not, unplug the battery terminals and see if the battery will charge with a different 12V charger. Plug it in with the battery disconnected and see if there's any voltage on the terminals. If not, see if you can locate where power is on a circuit board and see if there is some type of fuse or thermal fuse that may be open/burned out. There should be 110V going into the board, a rectifier circuit feeding a transformer and then capacitors and 12V coming off the capacitor to the battery + terminal. If the inflator side works, then there's power in there getting to that switch. I assume the inflator is 12V, so if that's working, there's 12V in there somewhere. Good luck. Also, make sure your jump switch is in the off position, that may be killing power to the board. (The big dial switch should be where it's not in the battery jump position)

    • @west_park7993
      @west_park7993 2 роки тому

      @@JeromeBeeFarm no it is not in warranty. I got VERY disappointed. The ACDC adapter is only 0.5 A. I.e. 6 W. It has thin telephone wires. The compressor relies entirely on the current from the battery. No surprise it takes forever to charge the battery. I removed the battery and electronic (it was also damaged) and attached a 12-V plug. Now I have a light and tire infiltrator.

    Have one of these but it's been dead for about a year. Lost the charging cable so charging g it up with a different cable. It says its charging but it cant get above the red battery level. Been charging it for hours now. Anyone else have this issue? Is it smoked or do they just take forever to charge from dead?

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  3 роки тому

      Sounds like your battery is bad. I haven’t taken one apart, but it’s probably pretty easy to replace. Batteries can get a bad internal cell that pulls all the other cells down and then they won’t charge. I think this is my third year with this one and it’s still doing fine. I use the air compressor more than anything.

    Intial charge is 48 hours. Booklet says damage can occur if not fully charged and warranty will be voided. Read your booklet first guys.

    • @mediocrates1937
      @mediocrates1937 5 років тому

      I saw that, 30-48 hours estimated charge time, but the manual also says to unplug after charge light turns green to prevent damage to the battery. It's a simple glass mat lead acid battery in there, there's no reason it would need a 48 hour initial charge if the battery shows a full charge. However, with most battery operated things at HFT, they didn't bother to spend an extra 25 cents per unit and put a charge controller in the product, which is why so many of Harbor Freights power tools/flashlights/etc. aren't known for their longevity and ARE known for burning up if left on the charger 24/7. Even Ryobi puts a charge controller in their power tool chargers, so I guess HFT just likes 3 star reviews on all their battery operated tools...

      The compressor part died on mine last year. Makes a lot of noise, but doesn't pump. So I use the battery part to run another 12v tire pump. lol I always keep mine plugged in. There's probably a way to take it apart and replace that battery. It's probably a small SLA AGM that you could get on Amazon. You always want to keep them plugged in, because those batteries will tend to fail if you let them discharge and not charge them back up and keep them charged. If you use it mostly for the jump start, there's some good lithium cell options out there that are better deals than the ones HF sells. I also got a Milwaukee M12 inflator. It's really nice. Just punch in the PSI you and hit start and it pumps til it hits the mark. Dewalt makes one too. If you already have Milwaukee or Dewalt batteries, it's a good option. Good luck.
