I remember when clubs started moving their advert boards closer to the pitch to give Delap less space to run so his throw-ins would get less effective.

@@PaquitoMoncayo sometimes those clubs with more room between the stands and the advertising hoardings would double up on them also, they would have it to the first 'layer' was flat like normal then the second 'layer' was slightly angled to prevent a proper run along the touchline, there was a lot of stuff done by teams during this period of time in the prem to try and counter the rory delap throw in technique.

One time a club did that (I believe it was West Ham), and then when one of their own players took a throw-in, he didn't have enough room either. He threw the ball straight to a Stoke player, and they launched an attack and scored the only goal of the game. "Hoist by their own petard", as the saying goes.

Also on wet days at away grounds they wouldn't have any towels available so they'd have towels sewn on to the inside of their shirts so they could dry the ball for throw ins.

Hull, WBA, Birmingham + 19 Wales Caps.
Not so Good One on One or with his Feet haha.
But
He was Good with Penalties, High-Balls-Crosses, Long Shots, Catched the Ball alot not Push it away.
Always 1st GK at Club.

Maybe have got more Caps for the US 🇺🇸 as he's American Born.
But
Picked to play for Wales because of Grandmother.
