    Hi thanx for sharing.
    I live in a Hot country so i replaced this pump temp switch to the lowest value I found (around 93°C) so the pump starts cooling the oil when your hill climbing. This way you dont have to be acting the pump and worry. And even more important for this IDI engines is to put a new radiator, the biggest can fit in place.
    ;-)
    Reedit: 93°, i believe was original value and I installed 88°.

      There’s only one radiator size for a VW T3.

    Great idea for multiwire cable from front to back, I added a remote fuel pressure sensor for waterboxer EFI status and need to add a tachometer since 1984 model doesn't have it, and electric brake wire for the towing connector.

      Love to see a remote oil pressure gauge in action! The red bug video was great, but having no gauges can be traumatic and leaves me in an anxiety state! Lights that come on after it's too late? Had that happen over a lifetime!

    are you not paying vat on stuff from China in Norway? in Denmark we do now and well that 25% on top ain't too bad but they charge a fee of 180 DKR i believe these days to handle the package. So a wopping 180 kroner to charge vat for a 10 kr item + the 2.5 kroner for vat

    • @Italjohn
      @Italjohn  2 роки тому

      The Norwegian vat is added to the order at checkout. So all parts from Aliexpress and Ebay are shipped to Norway with no extra charge.

    Hi from Danmark. Sorry for the dumb question, but I am not an expert and don’t have many skilIs. I have a T3 with an AAZ as well and know that over heating of the engine / oil is a problem; I thought about installing an oil cooler to handle that.
    I would just like that I understand this correctly. The whole idea is to install the switch so that you can turn on the auxiliary pump to cool the oil when driving ? 😳
    Best
    Rene

      The big black cover is a factory rubber mat that is lying over the engine lid.

    Hi John, do you have a chicken switch, to manually control the radiator fan to cool the water?

    • @Italjohn

      No, but will maybe install one later

    • @Skypager_TFTC
      @Skypager_TFTC 2 роки тому +1

      Really good and simple mod. I believe it’s a more efficient option to cool the water (and therefor oil) quickly when it matters.

    • @TheHarryMann
      @TheHarryMann 8 місяців тому

      Yes, the Radiator. Fan switch override is the best and correct way to help reduce hill climbing temps.
      And it helps An upfront oil cooler too, an essential for these engines
