Correction: At the end of the video I meant to say that this is an un-engineered ship, not "pre-engineered"
I had arx anyway, so only had to get the smallest Arx package to top up. The P2 cost me the same as a Costa Latte!
Love the ship. Don't mind paying, I bought enough paint jobs and ship kits over the years.
Aye, people seem to keep 'forgetting' that you can get 400 ARX per week for free so plenty of commanders don't have to spend a single real cent on getting one. Or you know, they could just be patient lol. You're mostly just getting 3 months early access (and free to low rebuy). Early access to stuff like this is not controversial in other MMOs/games - lotta hullabaloo about nothing.
Stock looks like darkstar or what that mach 10 ship was in top gun maverick
This guy is not telling you that even A-rated, if you take it to a High or Hazard res site, you will get destroyed. This ship is mediocre at best, and just like all other ships, you need to fully engineer it if you want to survive anything higher than threat 4. Buyers beware.
I'm an amateur combat pilot so I struggled a bit but I've seen more experienced commanders easily taking down Anacondas with it. But you're right you need to engineer it to get the most of it
@@lootandgrind I wish the game was balanced for new players. My kid was excited to play Elite, only to realize that a fully A-rated ship can't hold up against a threat 4, especially with beginner's skills. To make matters worse, low-level missions and rez sites are few and far between and pay close to nothing. The engineering grind killed this game.

Amazing how you read the same excuses again and again everywhere, mostly made by the players for themselves to justify their purchase of a single ship with the cost of an expansion..
"i can't wait" - "after all these years" - "game moving forward" - "they have to cash in it's fair"
Well I can definitely wait, I couln't care less. I'm all for supporting the games that I love, of course it's a company and they have to make money, but it is their turn to prove that they are worth my trust, which has been betrayed over and over again over the years.

I'm fine with supporting games I love, but I'm not a fan of supporting shitty companies, which I think FDev have proven themselves to be over the last year or two. They can shove their last-minute paid early access up their collective asses.
So when fully engineered….what can it boost up to?

With a full combat load, I get 420/550. Fully engineered drag drives. That is with plenty of armor for AX fighting.
It's a righteous vessel, and a great addition to the Elite Dangerous line-up.
FDev does good coming out of the box with the first of four new additions.
Agreed. Just wish they didn't make players wait 3 months to get it with in game credits.

Ninety days is nothing, and to be fair FDev deserves the right to make a bit of 'loot' in the process -- which is the ultimate goal.
For those that prefer to wait, will still have the new drives to keep them busy until Python 2 is available the old-fashioned way.
I also disagree about the purchase point if only to show support to Frontier for their ongoing efforts to move the game forth, when frankly few imagined any of this was possible -- not too long ago....
@@Tamburello_1994 yeah and no. I think 3 months it a bit much, 2 - 4 weeks max would have been better. the 3 month timer seems to be there to squeeze as much as it can. Do i blame them? No, not really, i expect it at this point, but i am slightly disappointed.

So far I am quite happy with mine. Rigged it for titan bombing. Ran into a ganker by Palin’s shop going to get my thrusters tweaked. Well even then I gave that guy a rough time. I jousted with an FDL in an un engineered ship. The guy literally followed me to Palin’s shop and finally killed me on the pad.

Mine has Class 6 cargo rack, Class 4 Fuel Scoop, Class 3B Operations limpet (so I can have 4 collector limpets) FSD booster and Supercruise assist and Docking Computer. The Core Internals mostly A rated and engineered. I'm using it for High Grade Emissions collecting - it's amazing at that!

Sadly I would have to buy the 50k ark package for £24.99 to get this ship, I'll wait until August.
Agreed. I've spent £135 on ARX, and still want more. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna fork out any more £££, on ARX - I'll also wait.
The beauty of the game is there's always lots you can be getting on with, while you wait.
0:07 You don't necessarily have to pay any real money at all - plenty of folks have enough saved ARX just from the free 400 ARX per week to get one without spending a dime.
For myself, I 'bought' the Stellar version and have been using it for hunting pirates (massacre mission stacking). The agility is indeed great! Although the pitch is a bit more underwhelming than I would have liked. It's so far replaced my Vulture as a smaller fun combat ship (I also have an engineered Cutter). The Stellar isn't perfect modules wise - I had to swap some out and it has zero engineering. So it's definitely not some massive advantage like some commanders have been crying about. I can still get my butt easily handed to me by pirates even with some light engineering. In summary, you're paying (if you pay real money) for early access and low rebuy (there will still be some once you swap modules). That's it.
At some point I might try putting together an Exobiology build on EDSY because I could see this being a fun exo ship, especially with SCO making it faster to get around planets.
Anyway, that's my initial thoughts on flying it for a few days o7
Yeah I forgot to mention about earning ARX by playing the game
On one hand I bought the ship to support Frontier. On the other hand I bought the ship because I am a whore for new ships and already had 32 other ships.
Ps: once engineered, the Python2 handles well. I made a billion credits in one day killing bugs.
Everyone knows the Adder has the coolest sounds.
It's speed and numerous hardpoints make it an ideal pirate ship, but there won't be much cargo space.
Large Pacifier and 2 large gimballed frags on top.
Large long range beam laser, medium long range burst laser with scramble spectrum. Pack-hounds.
Bi-weave thermal resist shield and thermal resist shield booster, 2 resist shield booster with kinetic block and thermal block.
E-Manifest scanner and chaff, E-Wake scanner (for farming mats).
4-E cargo, 3-A hatch breaker, 2-D interdictor, 1-B collector limpets x2.
Seems better I'd you just bite bullet for the 32000 version so the A-Grade modules are zero rebuy as well as the Shipm

Ships great, will be widely available soon. But for 10$ its not a crazy ask. I love it and had enough to get base and the red one. Saving and killing titans didnt spend a dime. Compared to SC this is nothing. And its balanced well.

Why are just say the letters in Arx and not saying the word?
That's what I thought. But it's shown as ARX - in capitals. I guess you can say it both ways.
@@rob16248 By your logic he should be saying P-Y-T-H-O-N M-K-I-I. He says the names of ships and equipment correctly without spelling them out. Why is a three letter word treated differently than a six letter word?

As I wrote, I merely guessed, GUSSED, people could say "ARX" both ways.
In English football (et al?), we have something known as a video assisted referee. VAR for short. People refer to it interchangeably as "var", or "V-A-R".
I've only ever seen "ARX", written in capitals, so it isn't unreasonable to say "A-R-X." btw, I've always called it "arx", as in "arcs".

With a fuel tank the size of a thimble, this thing ain't gonna make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. It'd be lucky to make it outta space dock. Just sayin'..
With a Class B FSD it has fantastic fuel economy. BY FAR better than the previous most fuel efficient ship (the SideWinder).
Watch out for any Imperial entanglements.
I went straight for the Stella, I’ve already used it to make several billion at Spire suites which it excels at. That was after significant engineering and module swaps.
