Love it! Since I’ve bought it I am playing around with it. Also started with mining. PS: I am playing Elite since the 1980ies. So please consider buying one pre-build to support this game. In 40 years the developers haven’t been asking for much.
Some small tweaks still need to be ironed out, but this is what my build yields me: Speed: 316 | 536 m/s Pitch/ roll/ yaw/ 44.27 | 94.86 | 28.46 /s Jump min/ current / max 36.01 | 54.12 | 56.63 Cargo capacity | 356 T
Great ship. Not just for the fun factor. Trading with outposts is finally possible on a larger scale, salvaging is much more efficient, and it's overall a great addition to the miners, traders, and salvage collectors
I bought one, and love the way it flies. It handles great considering it's cargo capacity! I will probably create builds for it that replace my Python builds for every thing I used the Python for. I never used my Pythons for combat either. That maneuverability will be greatly appreciated on mining runs.
I bought one as soon as it came out and I like it so much I'm retireing my python. By choice I'm not doing any kind of combat, my combat rank is helpless after over 300 hours so I can do missions and transport runs without any worries since the NPC's strength is upped according to your combat rank. With this thing I can outrun anything the game throws at me I never have to fire a shot and so far never did
I've been enjoying mine. Currently it's set up to farm HGE's, which it is great for. I love how I can spot an HGE 40,000 LS away and it can burn through that in very little time.
What are you talking about with regard to the engine sounds. It's fantastic. Sci-fi smooth, deep with a texture of industrial grit without being overly irritating to hear or horrid metal rattling sounds like the diamondback explorer or the keelback. That was a bit over the top for me to hear all the time boosting. It's a great ship so far! Might be my favorite of all.
I'll definitely get it when it's fully released. It'll be great for all the hauling n stuff for my bgs work. Hopefully, they fix the srv issue by then and it can definitely be my non-combat go-to medium ship.
As a trader I have been waiting for this ship for many years, The python didn't carry enough and traders needed a better medium hauler. I also bought this ship in early accsess and have put three of them in my fleet, A trader, a materials gather and a miner, unlike you I didn't like it as a laser miner and have gone back to my type 7 for that job. I am very happy with the type 8 overall.
@@kahldris1228 I just like the look of the type 7 but you wouldn't use it for cargo when you have a 9, so I just thought what could I use one for and came up with miner.
@@kahldris1228 core mining as you probably know when you first start the game use to be the best way to make quick credits, but having only a few credits you need a cheap core miner, my go to was the keelback 64 tonn cargo space once you outfit your ship, one trip of void opals and I could afford my fav ship in the game Type 9.
Why is that? The Type 8 is wonderful as a laser miner once you strap 3-4 1D Torval mining lasers with long range and incendiary rounds. Great thermal/power management and enough size one slots to make up for the speed loss of them being a size one.
Looks like it can be useful for tritium runs somewhere in Colonia or wine deliveries on the Rakham Peak. Looks like it has 1.7 times more cargo than Python. Each carrier's owner should have 1 such onboard for sure. But I don't think any pre-order rush is required.
Bought one on day one, although I still havent decided on what to do with it. In theory, its the best trader around, offering 100t extra cargo capacity over the python whilst remaining a medium class ship. I just havent felt the need to have it replace my type 9. I think Ill be taking it out into the deep dark reaches of the galaxy, as an explorer. See if I can make it to the edge of our galaxy before a new exploration ship is released!
did anyone tryed to put cabins in that just to see difference between phyton and T8, I think there is more cargo, SCO, medium land pad, maybe one jump to sirius
I want to buy the pre-built one so bad. I have the Arx, but I don't want to give into the temptation. Part of me just wants to grind the credits for when it eventually becomes available to buy with credits.
So bought it now that I figured out my hotas issue...a mix of software and operator error. Bought the Type 8 along with a few other pre-built ships because I screwed up and bought 3 Arx packs. Haven't done nothing today but play around with Thrustmasters hit and miss bindings that use to be correct when I last played.
The great handling more than makes up for the little issues like cockpit view impairment and the lack of more class2 or 3 weapons. For core and sub-surface mining I don't think theres a better ship. Even partially engineered it turns and stops like a hockey player.
was not impressed with it but going to give it another chance going matt hunting later then mining 😅just spent a couple of hours with it take back all i said love it
Claiming this mines better than a python is absolute nonsense. A python supports 3 medium lasers with a properly big distributor, which will pull fragments much faster than the type 8s lasers and size 4 distributor
Yea for laser mining perhaps. But this has a lot more cargo and why do laser mining in 2024? Pays like shit and is boring. Like subsurface or core mining makes more sense
And I think this looks pretty cool. To each his own I guess... Plus most ships have great views from the cockpit. Let me see more of my ships, let me have that sense of scale and all. Without ship interiors, at least that's something to remind us we are in cool looking ships.
Hate ai voice overs myself often I set UA-cam not to ever recommend that channel again when I realise it's AI. I would prefer to hear original language and just have YT subtitles or hear broken English.

I'm using mine as a HGE collector
I've been enjoying mine. Currently it's set up to farm HGE's, which it is great for. I love how I can spot an HGE 40,000 LS away and it can burn through that in very little time.
I use mine for material gathering it is engineered, I like it works very well👍

Just taking a look at it is enough to know that his is a must buy
Absolutely LOVE this ship... Made mine into a miner, Clementine!
I'll definitely get it when it's fully released. It'll be great for all the hauling n stuff for my bgs work. Hopefully, they fix the srv issue by then and it can definitely be my non-combat go-to medium ship.
The SCO optimization is insane. It can churn out 200k LS like nothing, barely uses 1/2 a tank of fuel, pop a heat or 2, it’s crazy.
dang ig the type 6 python days are over we truckers now actually have something for outpost's, they be cooking

Why type 7 for laser mining? Why didn't you like type 8 for laser mining? What ship do you use for core mining?
Glad you're enjoying it

Will def be getting this one when it goes f2p, wanna try and make it a shield stripping pirate ship with Cytos 😄
It's great for combat too.
I think the use value of this ship may become more apparent when PP 2.0 launches.
I think it will be a good replacement for python for Robigo mines missions

@@SOU6900 You won't be sorry. Hard to go back to my standard haulers when I have this now.
Get that stick issue fixed, Cmdr!
I suggest buy it. This game needs our support I'm proud to say I bought the stellar type 8

Not asking for likes and subs in the first five seconds and not even at all, you have my respect sir.
Hmm… could it replace the python in robigo runs?
Yes
Anybody know the best way to take out enemy sheilds?
I wish it was on console :(

You could probably buy the entire game development studio with that kind of money lol

The ship is supposed to be function over form. I'm not a fan of the arms extending in front of the cabin.
It does affect the view from the cockpit
It's not a variant...
