Really good review of this. It's hard to find a rundown that isn't focused on jamming a rat in front of it and performing strip mining. I also run this pedal almost clean as my pedal platform 'amp', as it's one of the VERY few pedals that pay attention to the power amp section of the intended amp, and the power amp section of the T is the most important thing. I use it last before a TwoNotes CabM and the only thing enabled in the TNCM is the cab sim. The Model Fet does all the lifting for the preamp/power amp stages. All my drives come before it. So I treat it just like a high headroom amp...real Model T or Marshall Major... something like that. Only aiab pedal I have used that has that kind of headroom and really acts like an actual amp you would want to plug pedals into. Anyway, nice job deviating from the norm 🤘👍
Oh god. Such great sounds! You could build an entire project around the FeT Fuck combo or the FeT Rooms combo. Phenomenal. I had a line on the dragon's blood colour way of this and didn't snap it up and I regret that very much. Nice work as always. 🤩
Ah, thank you so much! It’s definitely one of those pedals that’s goes with everything! So so good. That blood color one is 🤤🤤🤤 I hope the future brings you one, cause I’d love to hear your take on it! 🤯🥳
Such a great review, love it! Didn’t know I need a fuck overdrive now that I have my model fet. Also, would love a video tutorial about modding your hard click footswitches to soft touch flexi relays! I wanna do that to my POG2 so bad
Thank you! The fuck is incredible and getting more and more difficult to find. I’m not sure if Brian is still making/selling his pedals. His website is down. The Mini from Smallsound/Bigsound is also FANTASTIC! For the relay switching, Mas-Effects makes a kit. I think CODA and a couple others do as well. It’s fairly straight forward if you can solder. Sometimes it gets kinda hairy and for that I send my pedals to Mimmotronics in NY. He’s an actual wizard. You can always reach out to him. He’s super nice and easy to work with.
Funny thing happened last night. I have not found a drive for years that got me excited.I just had to find something new. I finally decided I needed a Smallsound/Bigsound F*ck. Said they were in stock on the webpage. Went to buy it, and nope, it was actually not available. I was determined to find something new and awesome. After a few more hours of videos and Reverb listings, I ran across EAE. Dont know how I never noticed them before, but I didnt, ended up ordering a Halberd V2 and I cant wait to get it.
Woah. The universe was looking out for you and your tone for sure. It’s a bummer about Brians stuff. Hopefully SS/BS will get back up and running at some point. Sadly the reverb market is the only shot at this point. That’s so rad about the Halberd though. Congrats! I’ve been gassing for that one for a long time! EAE is top tier! I hope you dig it!
@@boringgearreviews Yea, I was a little bummed at first. I would still love a mini or f*ck in the future. But had they been in stock I would not have really looked into EAE! lol It might be a while before I get the Halberd, but I pre ordered it on Perfect Circuit $199 out the door and shipped when they get them back, for now at least. Thats $50 cheaper than ordering direct. I have no doubt that the Halberd will be great.
This channel is phenomenal, thank you for all the work that goes into making videos like these! I have a question though regarding the Fuck OD. It seems entirely unavailable for purchase virtually anywhere (ive been hunting for a while) do you have any recommendations for pedals that get close to that sound? (I know the Fuck is its own animal so its a tall order) thanks!
Thank you so much for saying that. Very kind of you and I appreciate your support! Yea, it sadly looks as though Brian isn’t selling pedals anymore. Sometimes you can have luck by doing a Google search and looking at the for sale items. I will say though, that the Mini from Smallsound/Bigsound is also incredible. Very similar to the Fuck but it doesn’t have the broken amp toggle. Instead it has a bias control and can get into thick gated fuzz territory. Those are a bit easier to find but equally as amazing. I’ll do a demo and comparison of them both in the coming weeks!
@@boringgearreviews thank you very much for the detailed reply! I had read mixed reviews on the mini but im thinking some of the sub par reviews were from users anticipating a more traditional overdrive, which is not what I'm after. I have found your demos were highly influential in some of my more recent pedal aquistions (Lifepedal, screen violence, and model fet) so I look forward to the mini/Fuck comparison! Bit of an aside but i opted to set up the model fet as a footswitchable 3rd channel on my orange th30 (with a jhs switchback, little black amp box, and remote switch) and its has made my rig so much more versatile. As a former owner of a real model T who plays ambient/post rock/doom I am beyond happy with that damn pedal haha Thanks for all your hard work and keep it up man!
Assuming either of you already know but for anyone that doesn’t, it’s a rip on the logo for the band Power Trip. Can probably find it by typing that into Google.
Great review! I have a Dragons Blood model feT and a pink Fuck Overdrive and run the Fuck after the model feT like you did in this video. Seems like the Fuck just works better at the end of the chain. So, I guess I've been using the model feT more as an overdrive than an amp in the box. Tried running the hizumitas before and after the feT but haven't been super happy with either config., currently prefer running after the feT, before the Fuck. Any good fuzz (s) you can recommend?
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words. I love the model feT first too. Fuzzes can for sure, be tricky with placement. I haven’t played the Hizumitas, so I can’t comment on that but some of my favorite fuzzes are the Unsound Circuitry Kato, Dead Air Wound, Moth Electric P. Isabella, Wonderful Audio Technology Fuzz Lands, Benson Stonk Box. Some more extreme options being the Moire Visceral and Laowiz Cyst Mode. I have videos on all of them too!
@@boringgearreviews Thanks for the recommendations. We have similar tastes. No corny bro metal? No dusty blues licks? Subscribed! It'd be cool to see a video of your top 3 pedals in each category. Fuzz, drive, reverb, delay..blah blah blah. Anywho, thanks for making watchable content with no cringe factor.
@@Jayrawk My pleasure! I really appreciate the sub! Thanks so much for the very kind words too. Glad to connect. On my live streams I often put pedals side by side and compare! 😎

It's very nice to see this video when considering buying one and running my Les Paul through it. Your playing is excellent. Thanks, man!
I bought one.
Thanks so much for the kind words and support! Welcome to team feT! Hope you love it!
I’ve been thinking about buying one of these for a while but your demo needed to be paused to go hunt one down! Great demo!
YES! Go Team FET! Congrats on the new pedal and thanks so much for your support and kind words.
I would honestly like to see you use it as a preamp in the return of any Fender-like amp. Otherwise a great review
Thanks a lot! Much appreciated.
Your review style is exceptional, as is your tone.
