Wiz: Ash Ketchum, the young boy trainer from Pallet Town.
Boomstick: And Red the Kanto Pokémon League Champion.
Wiz: In the world of Pokémon, we follow the adventures of these two young boys as they travel the land searching far and wind for all Pokémon, battling against the most skilled gym leaders and trainers and rise up to become the very best like no one ever was.
Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick.
Wiz: And it’s our jobs to analyze their Pokémon, Armor, and Skills to find out who would win… a DEATH BATTLE.

Nice touch adding the ‘Pokémon, Armor and Skills’, but would you rather say that it’d be better to have them say ‘Pokemon, Abilities and Moves’?
Perfect idea for the ending (No deaths):
Ash and Red are at their final Pokémon: Pikachu and Charizard. Their respective trainers take a look at their Pokémon, and recall when they first met their Pokémon (Ash when Pikachu didn't like him originally and Red when Charizard was a Charmander). The trainers and their respective Pokémon look at each other and nod, knowing what they have to do. Red pulls out his Mega Bracelet while Ash pulls out his Z Power Ring (Ash used a Z Move in Kanto against Misty's Mega Gyarados, so it's fine), and while Charizard Mega Evolves into Mega Charizard X, Ash and Pikachu prepare to use their Z move.
Red: Charizard...
Ash: Pikachu...
Red/Ash: USE FLAMETHROWER!/USE 1 MILLION VOLT THUNDERBOLT!
Their Pokémon unleash their final attacks, and it ends with an explosion that makes the screen fade to white. When we see what happen, the loser's Pokemon is on the floor, fainted while the loser is on the floor, knocked back by the explosion, and the winner extends their hand. The loser smiles, grabs the winner's hand and the screen fades to black.

This is what some call a "Brofist Ending".
And I like it.
Very much the Yugi/Jaden ending from Yu-Gi-Oh GX...and I'm okay with that.

This came out as good as I hoped it would. It has SO many fun references to Pokemon's colorful history from the many musical references to the usage of classic Game Boy sound effects. My inner 9-year-old was smiling the entire time.
I do wish this battle would become a thing. Ash has gone from a laughing stock to a legit champion, and Red feels like the last challenge he'd have to overcome to be the best (like no one ever was).
Who do you think wins?
I think it could happen perfectly, something like Vegetto vs Gogeta.

Out of curiosity what did you send in as references for this commission?
The battle is honestly one-sided. Ash beats Red in every category.
Even if you completely composite Red into 1 character - he still loses.
Red and his pokemon at his max could be Planetary or Planetary+
Ash and Pikachu are minimum Multi-Galaxy to Multiversal.
Red's pokemon are exactly Lightspeed at best.
Ash's Pikachu is MFTL.

If this becomes a thing, I really want this to be treated like a traditional pokemon battle with no actual deaths. Just battling until your pokemon faint.
Also I'm very curious what team they'd both end up sticking with. Since they both have a lot of pokemon to choose from.
I don't really care who wins tbh. this would be one amazing, and long pokemon battle.
I'd probably go with the teams that they both became the "Very Best" with.
So for Ash I'd imagine his Journeys team, then Red would have:

So would Death Battle give both 6 pokemon, min-maxing their teams to the best either can have

They don't. The only Pokemon eligible to upscale to Necrozma is Pikachu who fought Buzzwole...and got two tapped.
Necrozma also oneshot Pikachu by accident so, no, not even close.
@@MrLimboRL Mewtwo in the games isn’t very strong, at all. Best strength feat we have is that he is the strongest Pokemon in kanto which would make him pretty strong. That wouldn’t mean he would be able to catch up to ash’s Pokemon, who have dodged attacks from necrozma before, specifically ash’s garchomp.
Also, red doesn’t even actually use mewtwo. Did he catch him? Yes, but that doesn’t mean we should give him it, especially when we don’t even actually know it’s moveset or if it will actually listen to him.

@@deezidibbs9796 That doesn’t mean that we should give red mewtwo. He never has used him. And I’m using the ingame lore for mewtwo because that’s literally his only feat. He doesn’t do anything of relevance in the story.

Was hyped for this track the moment that I saw its name last week. And today seeing the actual matchup just made me even more hyped for it so needless to say I was quite looking forward to this. Also special mention for the track art that uses the Pokémon anime font; really like that.
As for the song itself, boy was it worth it. I knew for sure it'd be good given all the possible musical references and it still blew away expectations. It perfectly mixes both sides of Pokémon OSTs all the while not relying too hard on musical references, instead only using those when they're needed and benefit the song which ends up sounding both extremely unique while having as many references as one might want.
Just the fact that the song starts in 8bit with the classic Pokémon theme is frankly a great thing. It makes sense on multiple levels too. Firstly the obvious being that it represents the very start of Pokémon as a whole as it's probably the first Pokémon theme a lot of people heard if they the played the first games. Not only that tho, it also fits in a fight scenario as it's easy to imagine that Ash would be the one to challenge Red with the latter being the much more imposing and boss-like presence of the two. So having a theme representative of Red to start of obviously fits. Makes the whole song feel like if you were playing as Ash and fought Red in a Pokémon game and I love that because it fits them both perfectly.
But Red isn't the only one represented well in the track as Ash gets more than his fair share of spotlight too. I was totally expecting the Pokémon Season 1 opening but I gotta say that I didn't expect that its signature piano would be used (IE: 0:23-0:43) and I really like that. Not only is it an original way to showcase the theme but it also makes for great representation and of course at the start it makes for a wonderful intro to Ash as we get a more joyful and heroic segment that's also energetic but feels very organized which gets across all of Ash's character traits at once: he's always upbeat and ready for a fight but also calculative and knows what he's doing.
Then we get the part where the song feels like it truly starts at 0:54 as the song turns much more joyful and lighthearted to fit how both would enjoy their duel only for Red to start taking the advantage at 1:16 which makes sense as, even if both have just as much experience, Red is the more proactive and agressive battler of the two which makes sense that he'd be the first one to get edge. However at 1:26 we can note Ash's representative motif playing which showcases him getting back into the fight and putting the two back on a stalemate before fully taking control of the battle at 1:37, possibly KOing Red's first Pokémon, giving Ash the starting edge.
After this we then get a back and forth between modern and 8bit music to represent both characters giving it their all once again in a segment where they're both having fun with joyful music to punctuate it that then transitions into a semi-medley of the Kanto city themes to represent the journey both characters took as they each pull out their respective trump cards and strategies to defeat the enemy's Pokémon in the hopes to win. The tension rising at 2:19 as they approach their last Pokémon to send out before truly taking in the sheer scale of their fight at 2:30, fully respecting the enemy no matter which of them loses.
Then, finally, at 2:41 we get both contestants sending out their signature Pokémon: Red's Charizard first followed by Ash's Pikachu facing one another in a tense stare down before engaging one another at 2:57. At this point it feels like the scales are incredibly high as the tension rises and you can feel both fighters calculating their next moves, their Pokémon giving it their best to try and get the upper hand.
Only for this tension to fully burst at 3:29 as we get a complete showcase of epicness and grand scale. It's not overpowering but it truly feels like a final clash between two legendary trainers being one with their Pokémon as they deliver attack after attack in the hopes of being victorious. I cannot stress how much I like that segment, it manages not to feel overpowering nor antagonistic but it still perfectly gets across the sheer importance of the final clash and the impressive skills that both trainers and Pokémon have in this. The fact that it loops with barely any changes but the addition of slightly subtle "encore" of percussions as if to represent the heartbeat of both trainers and Pokémon as they only think about the fight to give it their all for one final attack is a wonderful detail too.
One that's of course perfectly complemented by the final notes as we get a very slight drumroll to showcase one of those classic moments where both Pokémon are standing after a final attack and we don't know which is defeated yet. Only for the winner to finally be revealed at 3:49, very subtle cymbals being audible to signify the end of the fight, an end that either trainer barely gets to hear as a final joyful motif plays to signify both the winner and the fact that, regardless of who won, the two of them had one of the best fights of their training career, showing respect to their opponent and accepting their defeat. A great conclusion to an amazing song. And yes, I know that this scenario doesn't end in death. But this isn't an actual Death Battle now, is it ? So I find an ending like that much better.
Overall this song I knew would be amazing from the moment I saw its name last week but it still managed to blow my expectations out of the water to end up in a song that feels not only fitting, story-driven just enough to imagine what could happen while still leaving creative freedom to the listener to imagine numerous interpretations but it's also just a fantastic song in general that stands out massively for its sheer quality. Even someone that barely knows anything about Pokémon will probably appreciate it a lot so let alone someone that actually likes it (and I say that as someone who's only a moderate Pokémon fan). Absolutely wonderful work done with this.
My idea for the climax is that at 2:57, Red uses his Mega Bracelet to make Charizard Mega Evolve while Ash and Pikachu prepare to use their Z-Move. Mega Charizard's Flamethrower clashes with 1 Million Volt Thunderbolt at 3:29, which causes a giant explosion. When the dust clears at 3:49, the winner extends their hand to the loser, who is on the floor due to the force of the explosion.

Beginning:
The battle starts with the original opening of Pokemon Red, showing a Gengar and Nidorino in their pokemon red sprites, and shows the two battling, but when the Nidorino jumps at the Gengar, it turns to the battle style, hand drawn, Sprites, or even 3D, as it is shown the fight was on a monitor, as the camera zooms out to show a huge stadium, as it cuts to a view inside and on the battle field
Announcer (Probably Ringmaster): Welcome to the finals of the Tournament of Masters! For our final round, we have a battle between two of the most well-known Pokemon Champions, who just so happened to be from the same region! Give it up for...
The screen shows both Ash and Red
Announcer: Ash Ketchum vs. Red!
The camera pans down to the battlefield, showing both trainers on opposite sides of the field, as the Camra zooms in on Ash, with Pikachu on his shoulder, as he has a big grin
Ash: So, you're this Red I heard about. Well, don't hold back, okay?
The Camara shows Red, who just adjusted his hat, with a slight grin
Red: ...
He pulled out a pokeball and throws it into the field, with a Pikachu coming out, as it make its gen 1 sound. Ash looks at his Pikachu
Ash: Ready buddy?
Pikachu smiled and puffed out his chest
Pikachu: Pika-Pika!
Ash: Alright.
He pulled his arm back as Pikachu started to run down it, as he moved and pointed to the field
Ash: Pikachu, I choose you!
Pikachu jumps off Ash's hand, using the movement to fly further down the field
Pikachu: Pikachu!
Announcer: Ready...
Both Pikachu's get ready
Announcer: FIGHT!
Last Stance:
Charizard was pushed back, as Ash Greninja lands in front of him.
Ash: Great Job Greninja! Let's finish him off!
Greninja: Greninja!
This is the home stretch. Red was down to his last Pokemon, Charizard, while Ash still has both Greninja and Pikachu, who was still hurt from the previous battle he was in. That didn't matter to Ash, however, since he knew Greninja had this. Red adjusted his hat for the 100th time this fight. He didn't want to resort to this, but he had no choice. He pulled something out of his pocket
Ash: Huh? What is that?
Red puts it on his wrist, showing it was a mega stone.
Ash: W-What!? He has a Mega Stone!?
Red holds it up in the air as it starts to glow. The power that came off it went to Charizard, as the symbol of Mega Evolution appears, as Charizard turn into Mega Charizard X, as they let out a loud roar. Ash grits his teeth
Ash: Greninja! Finish this quick! Hit him with a Aerial Ace!
Greninja: Ninja!
They raced off as fast they can to Charizard. However, we see a close-up to Red's eye as a reflection of Greninja is shown from it. It then transitions to Charizard's eye as it dodges the attack effortlessly, catching both by surprise. Charizard then Slashes at them, knocking them back, before charging up a focus blast
Ash: Greninja, get out if there!
It was too late, however, as before Greninja could do anything, the beam fired and connected with them. A cloud of dust was shown, and once the dust faded, it showed Greninja, back to normal, and was out cold.
Announcer: And Greninja is out, ladies and gentlemen! Ash is down to his last pokemon!
The crowd cheers as Ash falls to his knees, with Pikachu turning to him in surprise
Ash: That Charizard... It took out Greninja in a single move... Pikachu already took quite the beating in their last round... Can we even win...?
Ash then felt a pat to his arm as he looked up. Pikachu stood in front of him, with a look of determination.
Pikachu: Pika!
Ash them smiled and stood up
Ash: You're right. We aren't out yet. Let's give it our all, pal!
Pikachu: Pikachu!
Ash turns his cap and points to the ring
Ash: Pikachu, I choose you!
Pikachu ran to the ring, with electricity emitting from their cheeks. Both Trainers stared the other down, while both pokemon did the same to each other, as both then started battle. The battle would take a while, as both were evenly matched until Charizard uses Dragon Rush, as it connects and launches Pikachu back to Ash
Ash: Pikachu!
They turn to Ash, as Ash showed Pikachu what he just put on. The Z ring. Pikachu smiled as Ash took off his hat and put it on Pikachu's head
Ash: You aren't the only one who can use gimmick!
The Z ring starts glowing as Red gasps, aware of the power the Z moves have (even though he is in his 10 year old body. Don't question it.) Pikachu jumps and both fist bump and high five as Pikachu lands, and both, at the same time, make a punch movement as the energy coming from the Z Crystal transfers into Pikachu, as the Z symbol was shown infront of Pikachu. Red knew what was coming and knew he needed to stop this, as he lifted his arm in the air. As if Charizard was able to read Red's mind, it flew into the air and dives back down as blue fire started to come out of its mouth
Ash: Pikachu, use 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!
Thunder started to shoot down from the sky, as it started to strike Pikachu, as Electric aura started to come off of them, as they then fired randow electricity to Charizard. In response, Charizard fires a full blast Flamethrower to Pikachu, as both attacks collided and were pushing the other back, as Charizard kept flying closer and closer
Red win:
The thunderbolts were coming closer as Charizard struggled. Both he and Red closed their eyes in the struggle, before they both opened them, as both Charizard and Red let out a loud roar at once, as the flamethrower erupted to be 10 times bigger, overwhelming the Thunderbolts, catching both Ash and Pikachu by surprise. Charizard flew quickly to Pikachu, as they were engulfed I'm flames, as Charizard's wings shined, as they used Air Slash to strike Pikachu, causing a smoke of dust to be blasted off. Ash had to cover his face before looking into the dust
Ash; Pikachu!
The dust clears, showing Pikachu on the ground with their eyes dizzy, as Charizard stood over them
Announcer: And the winner of the tournament is Red!
The crowd cheers as Ash runs over to Pikachu. Red looked surprised but breaths a sigh of relief. Ash knelt down and picked up Pikachu
Ash: Pikachu... Are you okay buddy?
Pikachu's eyes closed for a bit before opening them and looking to him
Pikachu: P-Pika...?
Ash smiled and hugged him
Ash; You were amazing out there pal. You did your best.
Pikachu smiled and hugged back
Pikachu: Cha!
Both chuckled before they looked up to see Red in front of them, with Charizard standing beside them as they went back to normal at this point. Red offers a hand, as Ash smiled and grabs it, as Red helps Ash up while Pikachu jumps to Ash's shoulder
Ash win:
Charizard was getting closer and was slowly overpowering the lightning. Ash grunts as the two yells out
Ash/Pikachu: GOOO!!!/CHUUU!!!
The lightning then cuts through the flames, and swiftly pass through them, as both Red and Charizard had a look of shock before the Lightning connected with the pokemon, as a blast of light was shown, with dust being blown everywhere. Red had to cover his eyes before looking out to the field, as Pikachu landed onto the ground. Once the dust clears, Charizard is shown clear on the ground, fainted.
Announcer: And the winner of the tournament is Ash!
The crowd cheers as Red runs over to Charizard. Both Ash and Pikachu look at each other and start jumping with joy
Ash: We won!
Pikachu: Pika!
Red holds up Charizard's head as he pulls out a revive and feeds it to him. Charizard's eyes started to open, and he looked to Red. He breathes a sigh of relief as he pets Charizard's head. Charizard let's out a slight purr thanks to this, but them they both noticed Ash walking up to them with Pikachu on his shoulder, causing Charizard to growl
Ash: Hey, to put up a great fight!
Ash offers his hand. Red looks at his hand, then smiles, and takes it as he stands up, with Charizard standing next to him
Ending:
The crowd cheers as both trainers look at each other.
Ash: I had a lot of fun. Let's do this again sometime.
Red smiled and adjusted his hat
Red: ... Yeah... Count on it...
Ash offers him a handshake, as Red accepts it, with the camera zooming out, with the monitor showing the face of the winner
Well ash has more chances of winnig since he has more direct feats than origins and games red, manga red is a completely diferent story, and if we take a clash with no Pokémon ash Beats red in every category
This story makes me tear up literally every time I read it. You did well portraying the two professional dorks of Pallet Town.

Joking aside though, this is an _amazing_ track, and it does a fantastic job of merging both the anime soundtrack with the games', and I am so happy my ears got blessed by this.

I think the set-up of the fight should be Ash joining the championship tournament in Kanto to see how far he's truly come from when his journey began and fighting the defending Champion, Red, in the final battle.
Either that, or Ash hearing about a legendary trainer named Red, and Ash looks for him in order to challenge him to a Pokémon battle.
This was a absolute fun track 👏👏 I've enjoyed it
I feel like this fight heavily depends on the version of Red used. Game Red (best explained as the NPC one in Gold) would get demolished. Manga Red on the other hand is a whole other story though.
I love if deathbattle did this, no blood pr gore, but just Ash and Red having a pokemon battle, given six of their best pokemons from their teams throughout all their appearances and continuities along with their ace (Pikachu and Charizard)
Would allso be an icing on the cake of they include all the mechanics from different games, being Mega Evolutions, pokemon-exclusive Z-Moves, and Gigantamax forms

Ash has proven that he's got that dawg in em, but even still, I'm doubtful he can beat Red.
Ash is certainly the more creative of the two, but Red utilizes healing items mid-battle whereas Ash does not. Red also has such a strong bond with his Pokemon that he can just look at them and they know what to do, meaning they'll get their orders quicker than Ash could give orders to his Pokemon (except maybe Ash Greninja).
Finally, Red canonically defeated MewTwo (though im pretty sure he just recorded MewTwo in the Pokedex and never caught him, same with other legendaries). I know Ash defeated Latios & Darkrai, but considering the Darkrai movie isn't canon, we don't know how strong anime Darkrai or Latios are.
Point being, while a close fight, my money is on Red considering he's at minimum a champion tier threat and has defeated MewTwo, one of the strongest legendaries in the canon (besides the creation trio).
also depending on the version like Origin he has the Kanto legendary like Articuno and Mega evolution for Charizard which these two are stable in his team in stuff like pokemon EX, he did also catch mewtwo but nothing suggest he uses him for his team

I'd have to disagree. What about Ash defeating Lusamine Nilhego? Also Ash has literally invented several moves, he's a fighting genius. Additionally, considering that Ash has traveled across not just Kanto, but 7 other regions as well, he's probably more experienced.
And as for bonds, Ash's bond with his Pikachu is so strong that thier bond formed its own Z-move, which not only can knock out the aforementioned Lusamine Nilhego, it can overload the ability motor drive. Which is impossible. Ash can just do things that Red cannot.
Ash also potentially has access to Dynamax, which is another boon for him.
That Darkrai movie is literally one of the only movies we can confirm to be canon, considering that Dawn purchases a lunar wing in the movie that comes into play later on in the show.
Also champion tier threat? Ash is also a champion. He won the Alola tournament, and also the World Coronation Series. A in he is the best trainer in the world.
This is not to mention how Ash could probably if he felt like it just beat up Red.
Ash did beat tapu Koko which earned him his champion title and his Pikachu did beat a regi ice and for what it's worth he beat Leon who is hyped up as being the best champion in the Pokemon franchise (no champion not even nemonas has as great of a track record as him)
Winner is likely Red do to him sticking to one team and not releasing any also I don’t see Ash’s battle style being that hard for Red to end up also adapting to so depending who well they strategies either can one but I feel Red is much likely but don’t underestimate either trainer there stronger in there own way
This is without taking scaling into consideration, if scaling is considered Ash sweeps with Pikachu due to Necrozma scaling.
@mojojojox5043 If Red is limited to the games, sure, but if we give him Pokémon Adventures, he also gets Necrozma scaling while also being significantly more creative and efficient in his fight as opposed to pure stats and game mechanics.

Pretty sure Ash takes this based on experience. Red only beat one Champion while Ash beat 5 (Iris, Wallace, Steven, Cynthia, Leon.) Plus, Ash has Gigantamax, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Infernape's Blaze, and Greninja's Bond Phenomenon. Red only has Z-moves and Mega Evolution. Plus, Ash has been to more regions and fought more Pokemon.
Red also never fought any gods, like not just legendary pokémon, ones that are actual gods. Ash has and actually managed to hurt them.

Ash has witnessed type matchups inverting. He can apply realworld physics to the properties of the Poke Energies like they're real elements. Red is very skilled. Possibly a tossup between both otherwise. But with Ash's cheats, Red might lose in a very unfair way at one point. ;P

hot take based off the comments I guess, but I just don't see a world where ash doesn't win, even if we give red all of the original 151, yes even with mew and mewtwo, ash has just faced a lot more, even without legendries of his own, ash and his teams has faced so so many other legendries that I just don't think red having them is enough, ash just has so much more experience under his belt and his pokemon doing things far above what any of them would be able to do thanks to hundreds of episodes and several movies. it won't be an easy fight at all, but I see ash winning more often than not
And if he got them, we'd have to give Ash everything he ever had, which includes his Naganadel and Melmetal.

Awesome song and my money is on ash. He has proven to be a much better trainer then Red because while Red is the Kanto champion Ash has fought in the world tournament and won, he was going up against the strongest trainers ever like Steven, Cynthia and Leon. He also has accesses to mega evolution, Z-moves, Gigantamax and Even the bond phenomena which is only achievable with an immense strong bond with your Pokémon. Not to mention ash is someone Red has no experience with someone who lives outside the box and comes up with crazy idea's to win battles, So while Red may be the best in Kanto, Ash is just the best period.
While I agree that Ash has a wider variety of experience, Red's traveled outside of Kanto quite a bit. Red's been to the Aloah region, fought in battle leagues in several regions, and held his own against the Johto champion. If we take Pokemon Masters as canon, then he's also fought some of the strongest trainers out there.
Like I said, Ash is certainly more experienced, but Ash has also lost to far weaker trainers than Red's won against.
Why yes ash has some embarrassing loses it doesn't take away from his amazing wins and also if we are talking about masters ash is also part of it so he should scale just as much, ash has also dealt with way more dangerous enemies. Red taking down mewtwo and giovoni is impressive it but pails to what ash had to face in the movies which are now considered canon. But in all honesty I can see Red being one of ash's toughest fights yet but he should be able to edge out a win. @@fishyboi98
