Your stuff is great.thanks for all the idea.
I have made thousands of these. They are so fun and beautiful.
Best ornament video ever. Thank you so much!! I've made pot holders using this star idea, but this ornament is just beautiful. The extra embellishments make it really special.
Might I ask where you got the pattern for the star pot holder?
wow I love this ornament it is beautiful; thank you for sharing; God Bless You always....Phyllis
Great ! Thank you for clarifying some points I was unable to find 3'' ball and got 3.8 balls kept trying and cutting fabrics and gave up Following the lines issues is essential but not easy How can you make sure the ornament ribbon holder does not separate?
When I make by bows, I use one pin for each bow, that will help hold them in. When you add the hanger, you will also have all of the bows helping to hold it in as well. Unless the ornament is very heavy, the hanger will hold tight. I hope that helps!
You are very through.. thank you very much.. great video. Merry Christmas…
What size are the balls. Give size for different sizes
Hello I’m definitely going to make some of these ornaments. If I wanted to do a larger ball is there a formula to work out the size of the fabric squares. I’d like to do a larger ball for my nephews (a memory ball with a picture of them and their dad. He tragically died in January this year. I have his shirts and I was going to use the fabric from the shirts. Thank you
I love your beautiful work ! Just went on your website, everything was so beautiful! I want to buy everything! Your sight is so beautiful.I’m going to be back to by.
Thank you for sharing your tutorial. I've made them with 2.5 squares but will try the 2x3 size. Beautiful ornament prints.. 😊
Did you find much of a difference with the sizes? Thx. I’m going to start mine Friday when I get my pins. Thx again!
I have a question, please. I have always used 2 1/2 inch square pieces of fabric. Yours are 3 inches. Does that extra half of an inch make the triangles fit better? If so, it means I can't use my jelly rolls, but I would like to use the larger size if it makes a big difference. Thanks!
Hi! You should be fine with the 2-1/2" pieces. If you have any issue with the pieces not being long enough, I'd just bring the measurements in a little bit (bring the pieces a tiny bit closer to the previous layer). It would be a shame to not use the size you already have! I hope this helps :)
wonderful and extremely helpful

I have found that 2" x 3" rectangles give the nicest look and helps save on pins. If you wat to use your Jelly Rolls, that should be fine! You will want to fold that top edge down no more than 1/4". If you find you get to the end and still have foam showing, you might also need to add another layer.
Excellent video.
What a great video! Thank you for the “extra” tips. I wish I had known it earlier. I’ve made several and should have watched this first!
I'm so glad you found it helpful!!
Fabulous video!!!!! I would like to make these for gifts this year. If making for a small Christmas tree I would like to use a smaller ball....maybe 2.3 inches or 2.8 inches. Would that work and if yes would I cut the ribbon the same length???? 3 inches?
Hi there could you tell me if you have ever used a tshirt fabric to make these my friend asked me to make one for her out of her son in laws tshirt whom just passed. Any advice sld help before I cut the shirt
What a meaningful gift! These ornaments work best with woven fabrics, so if you are using a tshirt, you may want to add some light weight interfacing. You could also use a flannel style shirt with this ornament. Another idea would be to look at the Moonlight pattern ( also on this channel), as that will work very well with knits.
@@TheOrnamentGirl thank you he was only 29 massive heart attack so young
What a great craft!!!! Thank you!!
quick question, just starting to watch the video so you may mentioned it and if so I apologize, doesn't using all those pins weaken the foam where if it got dropped it would shatter? I ask because I did a styrofoam wreath once adding the mesh with floral pins and it fell off the door and broke in several pieces where the pins were. Thanks
We've never heard of that happening with our ornaments. The pins don't seem to weaken the foam to the point of breaking. I've dropped a few over the years and never had any problems.
@@TheOrnamentGirl thanks for the info, it could have been because floral pins are thicker than the pins you use.
If I wanted to use a smaller ball, say a 2 inch ball, how would I adjust the size of the fabric pieces?
I would love to buy this kit for this ball. Do you have anymore left. I try to go to your site to buy but does not pull this one up. Thanks.
so sorry! this one is all sold out now. We do have some new kits coming soon.
Such a lovely ornament. 🎄❤️❤️
A very well made video. Thank You.
Beautiful! Thank you for the video!
Beautiful
I am going to use your method after I make a Grad quilt for my nephew. With the leftover fabric he will get an ornament.
Kelley's Cruises and Life that is an awesome idea!
This is absolutely the best video I've watched - especially for us beginners! I'm hooked on ”The Ornament Lady!” THANK YOU! May I ask if you have a ”Group” that I might join? I would love to join in! I would enjoy making an ”egg” shaped ornament. Do you offer a tutorial/kits on the ”egg” shape? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!💐
Hello how are you doing?
Best video ever

Maravilhosa aula!! Thank you
So glad you're in UA-cam now! :)

Bellissimo. Grazie . Potresti mettere scritte le misure perché non sempre riesco a tradurre . Grazie mille
How to adjust for a smaller ball
If you are using a 2.5" ball, you won't need to adjust much, but you may need to trim more at the equator. Any smaller than that, and I would cut about 1/2" off the measurements of the fabric to help reduce some bulk. I hope that helps!
@@TheOrnamentGirl thank you so much
This makes a beautiful ball. I have been doing some that are similar, only my fabric pieces are 2 1/2” squares. I hope your pattern will work with my squares. I don’t have any extra fabric to use your strips. Love this pattern.
Yes! It will still work.. the difference will be that when you fold the halves on each piece down to create your triangle, they won't reach as far. And so, you might have to put your wider layers a bit closer together to make up for this. Using squares is the original way of making these (like you mentioned) and so it will definitely still work! (But hopefully after you've used up your squares, you will try doing them with the rectangles!) :)
The Ornament Girl ok thank you. Yes I am going to try using the rectangles. I did get more material in different colors so I can do them your way. I love the way yours look. They are different and super pretty.
Love this!
Hello how are you doing?
Beautiful ball but could say the measure of the rectangles also in cm …. We are in Europe …. Thank you very much…. Maybe you said it but you talk fast and I didn’t hear?
It is a stunning ornament, isnt it? 1 inch is equal to 2.5 centimetres. Also - if you click on the wheel icon (sometimes 3 dots) in the corner of the video screen, you have an option to slow down the playback speed. I use it often! 😊
@@Lillydinn thank you
Oh how I wish you had captions to follow....I can't follow your instr5 as i find your speech too fast for me.
Hi Lora, I am so sorry about that! I will look into this, but in the meantime, you might find this playlist helpful: ua-cam.com/video/5RYjeVPJx1E/v-deo.html
This will still take you through the pattern and these videos do have closed captions.
How do you keep your thumb from getting so sore?
You know your an Ornament Girl when you have those calluses, but a thimble works great!
