My youngest granddaughter 9yrs old would spend the day 'grazing' through your fields, her primary diet consists of berries, strawberries, blueberries raspberries and all kinds of cheese. She refuses to eat anything green; although she will devour a medium rare steak. She's a bit little for her age but she's healthy and quick as a whip. Whereas her older 10yr. old sister stands a full foot taller and outweighs her smaller sister by 20 pounds eats literally EVERYTHING is very athletic and beats all the boys in her class in running and arm wrestling is equally smart and awesome!!! They would both love spending some time on a property like your. We currently live in the desert of southern Arizona where it NEVER snows and seldom rains, you two are living in the 'garden of Eden' by comparison, cherish it every day!!!
For me, a day fishing is a day to relax, drink some beers, listen to music or podcasts, & enjoy life. For you two, it's literally survival. I appreciate you both so much.

Your fishing trip makes me long for my younger days when I used to fish the Shenandoah River for Small Mouth Bass. No matter how many you caught, it was still a wonderful day and, eating the fresh fish that evening was a real treat. You guys are the best. Stay safe and stay strong.
Tip for the cloudberries. you can pick them before they are ripe and put them on newspaper indoors. They continue to ripen and that way you can put them in the freezer when they are perfectly ripe. I recommend that you cook them with a little sugar and serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Greetings from Sweden

I grew up in Oregon and as a child we ate salmon quite frequently. I still eat tons of berries. Never thought about combining them. I swear I could taste it. I’m absolutely going to cook my next salmon that way!

I’m a native Oregonian and grew up eating salmon quite often. Years later I ordered it in a restaurant in Portland and it came with a raspberry sauce. I’ve been combining salmon and berries ever since. Delicious!

First, my brain appreciates when your blog includes the date/time reference stamp. Second, your cooking show has an instant mouthwatering affect. There was something about this cooking episode: the perfect scenic camera angle, the build-up of successful silver fishing and then the berry picking on the ‘home forty’, or maybe the combined happiness you both exuded during the meal prep. Seriously. There’s a restaurant in Maine, “The Lost Kitchen,” where the owner makes local food dishes, which is the New Big Deal in the cooking workd. You guys have lapped her. If you created a destination restaurant with your amazing food (and, yes, tables and chairs) you could not only make a fortune, you’d be rockstars in the culinary world.
If you watch earlier videos, that's the reason they moved to Alaska. It was to escape the "rat race". My son is a Chef, he doesn't even own the restaurant and his stress level is off the charts. Just because the kitchen crew says, "Yes Chef" at his every command, he's super stressed. Stress makes people old, fast.

Just got back from valdez with a load of pinks. Shipped them home to Tennessee. Had a blast. Best time of my life. We used a gold spoon with fake salmon eggs in the middle. Literally slayed them.
So good to see that the salmon are in the river in high numbers, I love salmon fishing, such great fighters. Yes, those were blueberries that you were picking, not huckleberries. The wild berries are really plentiful this year also, here in New Brunswick Canada.

That meal looked so delicious, even though I can't stomach fish. You don't even look like you get tired of processing the fish or eating it! Very healthy for you.. wish I could eat it! You two are a great team together!
I wish I was 35 years younger. I would be up there with you. What a beautiful life. No phones, no emails, no distractions. Just cut wood, fill your freezers, take game animals for meat, grow produce, harvest eggs. Just doesn't get any simpler. GOOD for you two. God speed.
First, my brain appreciates when your blog includes the date/time reference stamp.
Second, your cooking show has an instant mouthwatering affect. There was something about this cooking episode: the perfect scenic camera angle, the build-up of successful silver fishing and then the berry picking on the ‘home forty’, or maybe the combined happiness you both exuded during the meal prep. Anywho, you knocked it out of the park.
My vote would be the scenic wide angle view for the cooking show. 🏆

You two must not go out to eat very often. I imagine it would be so disappointing after the FANTASTIC meals you have at home! So wonderful to watch you make meals from river/woods to table. Very gratifying.
Just finished Irish salmon tonight with my wife and it was delicious, however, I’m sure what you have is absolutely amazing.
I simply just love your show. You guys make a great couple and project such great vibes. Your show is so interesting showing us how a simple life can make you so happy to live a life of freedom. Way to go team, keep going.
Seriously. There’s a restaurant in Maine, “The Lost Kitchen,” where the owner makes local food dishes, which is the New Big Deal in the cooking workd. You guys have lapped her. If you created a destination restaurant with your amazing food (and, yes, tables and chairs) you could not only make a fortune, you’d be rockstars in the culinary world.
If you watch earlier videos, that's the reason they moved to Alaska. It was to escape the "rat race". My son is a Chef, he doesn't even own the restaurant and his stress level is off the charts. Just because the kitchen crew says, "Yes Chef" at his every command, he's super stressed. Stress makes people old, fast.
Just sitting here watching and thinking of how good that food looks and how AMAZING it must taste! Especially knowing you've caught, grown, and harvested all the ingredients yourselves! ❤️❤️ Can't wait for hunting season and winter!! Jealous of all the snow you guys get!
Just got back from valdez with a load of pinks. Shipped them home to Tennessee. Had a blast. Best time of my life. We used a gold spoon with fake salmon eggs in the middle. Literally slayed them.

So good to see that the salmon are in the river in high numbers, I love salmon fishing, such great fighters. Yes, those were blueberries that you were picking, not huckleberries. The wild berries are really plentiful this year also, here in New Brunswick Canada.

Love Salmon like you could eat it all the time with other things of the SALAD with berries. Love currants and have made jellies and Jams with them Alaska is the one state I haven't visited yet just might have to do it!!!

You always have a choice. I believe in you.
Make a plan by starting with your goal and working backwards until you have all the steps figured out. Then choose to do what is NECESSARY.

Sandhill Cranes are fascinating. I first discovered them when living in Orlando, FL and heard they are up here in New Hampshire and crazy they are in Alaska!

Last night, I saw your move to Alaska and saw your physical appearances change from living such a healthy lifestyle and through incredibly hard work. I'd be out every day getting my limit 😂 I love the fish, growing up I was able to get Atlantic salmon, they are huge like king salmon, but yes silvers are very tasty. Good luck fishing
