That cupboard scene had no business being so hot! And Mark’s internal dialogue as he happily walks away is so hilarious. I was laughing so hard the first time I watched this scene; it still cracks me up 😂😂😂😂😂
@@davidz3879 its usually mirror shots they struggle with, early seasons the mirror masking was pretty shoddy and funny but later on it looks incredibly convincing like this scene. When Mark first met Sophie, she was all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. You could kind of see why he was into her at that stage. Her downward spiral wasn't entirely caused by Mark as she clearly had issues of her own, but his treatment of her over the series certainly didn't help anything.
@@Momofan69 it wasn't just her interests/pastimes but her personality. Much more relaxed in social situations. Not saying people can't change but it was very abrupt.
@@euan7166 She started dating Simon for bit in series 7 who was the sort of hip, cool guy Mark felt threatened by. By series 8 Dobby is sort of bridging both worlds. She's hanging out with Simon and his friends but also caring for sickly Gerard. There's a follow-up line later in the episode that's one of my favourites of the whole series: MARK: Dobby, are you going down to The Fuckbunker later? DOBBY: Is that what you call the stationery cupboard?

This is a great intro to Dobby, who initially is fun & likeable. She seems like she'll be Mark's greatest ally at JLB. I liked her at first, so it's very disappointing that her personality worsens greatly. She's the only PS character who's in it for too long.

It's impressive how they made this mirror shot look so direct like it's from Mark's perspective. That's the only comment I'm going to share.
Yes, it was well-filmed.

Yes, that radical change in her is bizarre, as is her being more prominent in s8. I don't know what the writers were thinking.
I dunno, I think nerd culture often crosses over into the other stuff, not an all unbelievable, especially as she gets a bit older.
