Peep Show is a British television sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb.
Dobby is a free elf
Well, if you remember his plan on getting her to move in with her, Mark was basically intending on keep her prisoner.
@@chrishargreaves8016 Mark is the Malfoy we made all along!
I was 100% certain she actually played dobby in the harry potter movie and her name in this show was a reference to that, but then I looked it up just now and turns out I was wrong. Apparently it's a cgi character played by some fat bloke.
She's hot in her own way.
I love how mark and jez slowly descend into psychosis over the arc of the series
That word doesn't mean what you think it means
They take everyone around them down as well lol.
SavedByTheBellend unless he’s subconsciously created a masterful peep show theory...
Well, not quite psychosis.
Psychopathy might be more accurate here
I feel the tragedy of this series is that if Mark had just let Jez tell Dobby how he felt, she would have just turned him down and it would have all been over. I never saw any indication that Dobby was attracted to Jez.
Absolutely. It's Mark's terminal insecurities.
@Dionysus’ Grapes Lol well, when does Mark ever act like a normal human?
probably, but she did tell Jez to "life coach her ass" at one point.
@@gordonlekfors2708 I don't think she meant her literal ass.
All three are toxic in their own way. That's what makes it so brilliant. Though, I would smash Dobs against my own judgment.
It's so funny looking back at the talk about him being gay.
There are a lot of hints throughout the whole show really
Well there "the bad thing" and "the handyman"...
2 episodes later he’s humping another guy
You gave him... a hand?
Ricky Raymond dobby was right with the 30%
Once they mentioned that fence was electrified. I knew we were going to see Mark go into it and it was well worth it.
Why did you. End the sentence prematurely and then continue it after the full stop?
@@BenjaminGoose Probably accidentally hit the full stop key instead of the comma key. They're right next to each other.
"Normally I can't wait five minutes for a wank or a spliff or a chocolate biscuit" Kinda horrible thing almost when you realise you are literally Jez
You must be really proud of yourself

The best thing about this is Jeremy’s run which is the same as the one he does when he sets the postbox alight
Hey, I know that weird run!
Mark and Jeremy are bloody insane
Not as insane as four naan
Have you met Big Mad Andy?!?
Never realised how random it was that she just ran off into the woods without saying goodbye to meet Simon in New York 😂
bit messed up tbh, like I can see breaking it off but that's just harsh.
Is it just me who felt like this ended on a dud, I thought they'd write a better departure for Dobby instead of her just walking off into woods.
@@Bleh200 this isn't her last episode
not to mention it makes no sense whatsoever for Jez to be there
@@gordonlekfors2708 watch the full episode, he gets stuck on the train with Mark by accident.
"...and for destroying my fucking pie!"
I thought it was kind of lazy to get rid of her by just having her run away randomly and leave nothing but a text to Mark.
thats exactly how i thought, theres probably a reason though, the ending doesnt seem like something the writers would write
She came back in the last series for super Hans wedding
That's a Dobby thing to do though. Dump someone by text.
It was totally out of character for the show and lost its social satire by this point, got bogged down in a pretty meaningless ‘relationship triangle’ storyline. The earlier seasons were dynamite
Especially how she managed to disappear then compose an entire paragraph of a text message.
Looking back, this is when the relationship between Mark and Jeremy truly breaks down. They barely tolerate each other in the last season.
Jez’s powers of deduction at 1:30 are pure Digby Chicken Caesar
I love how Mark yells about his pie in the end, clearly stating it as the worst thing Jeremy did that day.
3:55
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought with, but that World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones"
- Albert Einstein
I absolutely love this show but this last scene from series 8 is the worst fuckin scene in all 9 series! The way they're in the middle of nowhere & Dobby disappears just like that & sends Mark a text saying she is leaving to go to New York! Really poor way of ending the series.
The Ogg Monster It kind of loses any element of satire and the style that made Peep Show tick, instead just gets bogged down in a ‘sitcom/soap’ storyline about some people falling in love and fighting over each other, kind of betraying the characters as we knew them and without much humour to make it worth it. The show got tired and lost its way by this point really
Wait? Is this the last scene?!
@@mapuanindigenous3982 Of series 8 yeah
Let's be honest now, forcing a Mark Jeremy and Dobby love triangle into the show was never going to work, the Dobby character outstayed her welcome by at least 2 series.
@@jensablefur155 I disagree the ridiculousness of the situation was quite in line with Jeremy having a new whim - he had whims all throughout the show.
"...and destroying my fucking pie" gets me everytime
"My bladder is not so easily the master of me, young Jedi" love how Mark implies himself to be a Sith even in his own inner monologue
I found this episode somewhat comfortable to watch, as Jeremy said earlier that he would risk his friendship with Mark to get with Dobby. Seeing Mark and Jeremy fight over a girl after everything they have been through together was sad to watch.
apx24 it happens though. It always happens.
Extremely romantic repercussions 😂😂

Turns out dobby can teleport just like her magical elf counterpart. She disappeared to the point where no one could see her or catch up to her within a minute of them looking away.
A massive sigh of relief was then exhaled by all viewers.
THAT was the ending? She somehow disappears in the middle of nowhere and suddenly texts that she's going to New York?
Nothing gets past you
Sloppy writing
Have you never seen Peep Show before
One of the reasons why series 8 was the only really poor series in the whole run. Such sloppy writing
Mark is successful getting Sophie when he doesn't want her but can't get Dobby when he does want her
What cruel irony!!!
Usually how love works.
That’s why you shouldn’t want anybody. Just be a free and nonchalant spirit. Fighting for or pursuing love with someone almost always usually ends in disappointment.
Cameron Spalding that’s real life
"You know how weak my powers of self control are! Normally I can't wait 5 minutes before having a wank or a spliff or a chocolate biscuit" It's annoyingly funny how much this resonates with me hahaha. Love this show, glad it had such a good long run but alas all good things must come to an end :(
Glad to see the rest of you share my thoughts. This was such a shit ending to the series. Dobby decides shes going to NY and writes a huge Text in under a matter of seconds after running off into the woods...
This wasn't the ending, there's a ninth season - it's not on Netflix though... for whatever reason (at least in the license that Poland got, but I'm assuming it's the same for you).
You can almost feel the panic in the writing room in this episode. It's the only time Peep Show really dropped the ball.
How did Dobby vanish into thin air and quickly compose a text saying she was suddenly leaving for New York? Continuity error...
Especially with predictive text.
Plot twist!
@@herrzyklon More like bad writing
More like who cares...
Dobby is a free elf, Dobby has the power to apparate...
Lmao, Jez's last childish push of Mark into the electric fence. XD! And when he runs off as fast as he can so Mark can't retaliate, XD!
Yeah, it’s HILARIOUS isn’t it?
Wank, spliff, chocolate biscuit = the holy trinity.
"Hang on. Why does it say here that I'm 80% gay!?" - XD
"Now to stigmatise the mentally ill" lmfao
*GO ON THEN, ROCK ME AMADEUS!*
" my bladder is not always the master of me young jedi!" 😂😂😂
It's one the greatest quotes of all time.
“I’ll kill you Jeremy! For trying to steal Dobby and Electrocuting me and destroying my fucking pie!!” 😂😂
Love jez chasing after Dobby, shouting her name..
Got to love how Mark is channelling Emperor Palpatine...."Young Jedi..."
I always felt like this episode showed how truly selfish Jez was. And when he goaded Super Hans into getting high so he could sleep with Big Suze lol. But Mark broke up with his own sister for Jez, called Big Suze a horse face, and let him marry Nancy all to keep Jez happy. Meanwhile Jez finds the one girlfriend of Mark’s he genuinely gets along with, who shows zero interest in him beyond friendship, and he just has to have her.
That’s not to say Mark isn’t a selfish asshole and that the last series definitively proves they deserve each other lol.
5:23 "I know that weird run"...
Man I just laughed the hardest I have in ages...
The way Mark says "There's a reason why he's such a dickhead." XD
I just noticed that Dobby's ringtone is "New York, New York" by Ryan Adams
Hardly. It’s just a default ringtone.
@@BelovedSamsEtc lmao no it isn't. I suggest you listen to the song. that's def it
@@BelovedSamsEtc You're right! It's the "Strum" ringtone. But in OP's defense, the chords and chord progression for that ringtone are exactly the same as that song. Could be a huge coincidence, could be a genius touch by the writers.
Mickey Bricks Well I have heard the song. They just both have guitars. Slightly similar at most.
I know people hate on Dobby but getting out of there was maybe the best decision she made.
This shit is so brilliant.
Love the electric fence sound effect. Someone had fun there.
This reminds me of the place Red finds Andy's letter in Shawshank
we made love on that electric fence
under a a rock which has no business being there
“...AND DESTROYING MY FUCKING PIE!!”
I remember watching this episode for the first time and realising that Peep Show was burning itself out. There were glimpses earlier on in series 8 and the show had become way too reliant on comedic farce and silly and over the top setpieces, but this was just too contrived.
I'm glad that they had the good sense to stop the show when it was starting to struggle for ideas, though. I don't care how hardcore of a fan you are, you've got to admit that if they'd gone on for another couple of series in the same tone as 8 and 9 they would have been in danger of tarnishing the whole thing.
100%. 1 to 7 was comedy perfection but Series 8 was so poor in comparison. This ending was so sloppy in terms of writing and it just wasnt funny. Series 9 definitely improved and had a couple of gems in it like Threeism and Super Hans Stag party but it was definitely time to call it a day
I don't think they knew what to do with Jez. Mark was settling down into a loveless nightmare like he was always going to, but Jez doesn't really have a funny ending, so they just made him a total moron and played that for laughs. He never really seemed stupid in the first few series, just a bit goalless and deluded. By the end of the whole thing he's basically a sight gag.
Just realised Mark’s phone emitted the iPhone text sound despite the fact it’s a Motorola
rock me, amadeus
The most mental thing about all this is Mark would never continue to call her ''Dobby'' as she tells him 1st time they meet her name is Debbie but ''everyone else '' calls her Dobby. So he would refer to her as Debbie or Debs
Funny feeling watching this and laughing, then remembering your closest friendship ended because you loved the same woman.
Come on then, rock me amadeus
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love Dobby too.
We all do mate, we all do
3:44 At that point, wouldn't Mark have peed himself?
That is so Mark.
Jeremy's run at the end 😂😂😂😂
This is an early peep at the characters they play in ''back'' haha except Mitchell playing the mind games
Iffy scene in all, but I live for the reference at 4:10

Technically I think that stick was a branch, but I am not sure as to when a branch becomes a log?
Maybe that all depends on whether bark is present? 🤔
Mark should have stayed at Stephanie's when she put on the Van Morrison CD. He might have lived happily ever after.
Stephanie was perfect for mark
That run 🏃
5:24 I know that run!
Mark should've just let Jeremy propose. She would've turned him down.

almost the last one? Can't wait for season 9
There are a bunch of trees in the background, she ran into the trees. Is it that difficult to believe?
"He's gone mad! Now to stigmatize the mentally ill."
The Beavis and Butthead of the noughties.
Not even close
A more sophisticated, realistic, human and English version of Beavis and Butthead. Mark is Butthead, weird but the intelligent one of the lot. Jez is Beavis, the chaotic one with no intelligence whatsoever.
Jeremy falls in love 50 times a month, we all know he’s a lazy talentless piece of shit but even for him this was a new low to try and steal his best friend’s girl considering mark lets him live in his flat rent free, paid for everything he stole from Johnson’s bank account and always giving him handouts, just once I wish the writers would give Jeremy a well deserved comeuppance
I honestly think Jeremy's comeuppance is a long, slow descent into middle age, grappling with the knowledge that he's wasted his prime years with zero to show for it
@@JJ-fg2wd never thought of it that way, I guess that’s true, I was thinking more along the lines of him borrowing money from the wrong sort of people and getting his legs broke, but sure enough being a 40 something balding loser stuck in denial they’ve wasted the best years of their life doing nothing productive is another form of penance
Why does everyone hate this season finale, I think it’s one of the funniest episodes
Me personally I think it's classic Peep Show. But I guess the love triangle turns ppl off as a cliche!
@@michaelotis223 Yeh fair point
It’s shit.
I like the whole run of Peep Show, but I think people were getting Dobby fatigue by this point, and changing the character into a hipster and putting her into a love triangle with the guys was not something that people were particularly enjoying.
I don't mind it (I actually think Dobby's transformation with her new clique and her outgrowing Mark was a good idea), but I think a dislike of the El Dude Brothers fighting over a character that Jeremy never saw in a romantic way for years (until the plot needed it) is a legitimate critique of series 8.
I never understood why mark dodnt let jez embarrass himself by telling dobby how he felt. Any relationship worth having should be able to survive another party announcing their feeling. She wasnt even ok into jez. Mark really fucked himself
Worst series finale in Peep Show history.
also the best
Tough crowd
To be fair series 8 was probably the worst one. Not terrible just not quite as good as all the other ones.
I agree. They got progressively worse.
Best one was Mark and Sophie’s wedding imo
Dobby and Super Hans would be a great pairing according to Lily and Marshall.

I need to watch the series, got into it via youtube clips, but Dobby seems like a total psychopath that changes everything at the drop of the hat constantly. That may be intentional.
It's a lot more justifiable when you watch the full show, which is available on Netflix
Doby is hot in her own way.
This is such an underrated scene.
No, it's rated just right. Not very highly at all.
It's a terrible scene. One of the worst in the show
3:15 😂😂😀😂😂
Eh? Did she climb up a tree and out of sight from them? That's a disatisfying way to conclude Dobby's relationship
Dobby would have said no to Mark’s proposal, let alone Jez making a pass
Why would you bring a friend?
yeh you can just fly to New York without months of visa document prep
I don't remember Al-Qaeda getting visa documents before their ensemble with the World Trade Center

This was the jump the shark moment unfortunately. Not funny and played out way too long. Shame, honestly, but when this series was in its peak it was brilliant.
