@@PapanchasonlineThe fork is quite a big issue. If you want a Royal Enfield to ride off-road there is a good choice already fully adapted and protected.

I have a mid weight adventure bike all fitted out wit crash bars, a skid plate, Barkbusters 70:30 tyres and upgraded RR suspension which is more than capable off-road but… It’s my touring bike which I use on a lot of gravel and grass tracks but for greenlaning I use a Voge 300 Rally. It’s much more fun, more capable when the going gets technical and much easier to sort out when I get stuck. It’s long teach suspension, extra ground clearance, even more off-road biased tyres and most of all it’s much lighter weight make all the difference.
Tyres make a massive difference to enjoying lanes. I tried TKC80's first then kept the TKC80 front and changed the rear to dunlop Trail Max raid. Fantastic on. Tar and just as good on the tracks (had them on for Europe
Hi Julien, you know every time I've felt like leaving the vlog be, someone has stopped by with a comment like this. Thanks amigo. I will get back to you tomorrow with the exact tyres, can never remember.
Looks like you had a blast. I'm watching from Tasmania, Australia. I'm looking forward to my own road trip this summer on my own baker express interceptor. Love the look of the tires what brand are they and what size did you go for?
Lovely! How is the riding out there? Im sure you've got great weather for it. Let me get back to you on this, I will send over exactly what Ive had fitted
Debatable: did the Interceptor struggle at any point? Even passing through a ford is no big deal - as long as you keep the speed low and the revs up. ADV bikes are doing for biking what MTB bikes did to cycling - but invariably you're going to face the situation of a much higher CoG. And that brings it's own issues along with it. For context, look at how popular the Bullet has been for decades in India where rural roads aren't roads. Good Luck
@@CosmicSeeker69Not completely true. There are a lot of adventure bikes out there that come equipped with all the modifications you need for off-road riding and are no more top heavy than street based bikes. Your mountain-bike analogy is a good one; when I was a child I spent a lot of time riding road bikes on loose, uneven surfaces and what a change mountain-bikes made. I’ve been riding mountain-bikes most of my adult life and how I wish I had had one when I was a child! My current ‘adventure bike’ is by far the best touring motorcycle that I have ever owned, it’s more comfortable and suitable for real world touring than anything that I have owned before. When I bought it I traded in the 2013 Honda ST1300 Pan European that I had owned and enjoyed for nine years since buying it new, it came as a surprise to me but with the smaller, lighter, much less powerful replacement my annual mileage has doubled.
It's always fun to see bikes do what they are not supposed to do....But that's what makes them SO MUCH fun...👍👍👍
I agree, it's nice to see what the bike can handle, it managed this just fine (bar the fork, which was already an issue!)

@@davidmatthews3093 very true… yet I’m moving away from RE and this is what I’ve currently got, so had to give it a go!

They have totally changed the way this bike rides, love it.
Loving it! Gosh, when will I make it there so you could take me down these lanes?

Excellent as always, what happened with your gear box problems ?
The gearbox is being replaced as we speak! Im currently on a Ninja 500...
Looks like you want an adventure bike! :D
95% of the way there - currently working out what's best for next year within the confines of my current budget

Thank you for your insights mate! UA-cam isn’t very good at flagging new comments within threads, so have only just spotted this!
